Any chance of this turning southward tonight? I want to go to sleep but not sure if I should. Seems like when I go to bed the opposite happens from what I want it to do. you need to subscribe to bit movements... when you know whats happening you can sleep

Sometimes like today, when one is living in BC, one has to get up in the middle of the night (4:00 am) to buy BTC on Virtex when the bears wake up and become active in Central Canada.

When the start of the big red candle hit, I said to myself:
"Self, there are 3 possibilities here."
A. We would snap back hard and keep moving up, similar to how we did just a week prior.
B. We would have a correction that was more like a breather. We would go lower, consolidate for a few days or a week and then march our way back up, slowly building up steam, having a hard time between 900-1000 and then finally blow up past 1000 in a short while after and have another stratospheric rise before FINALLY correcting for a longer period of time.
C. We would reverse trend for a few months or more before going pre-bubble again.
After the first hard snapback I said to myself "self, it looks like it is going to be A or B. Wow. That's crazy."
Then 24 hours later, it looked like it was going to be option C.
But now, I think it is either option B or C. And unless we have some weakness in the next 48 hours, it's looking more and more like B is going to take this one.
I'm pretty excited either way. But, if B is confirmed and we start heading in a northernly direction, it is going to be one hell of a fireworks show this holiday season. Because the next parabolic rise will be nothing short of spectacular. And once we get past $1000, there really isn't resistance for miles.

After scanning this thread on Reddit ( www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1r2fts/i_wrote_this_primer_on_how_to_deal_with_your_us/) I'm now less worried about the price of BTC tonight and more concerned about my shitty record keeping when it comes to BTC. I personally don't want to have to go back through all the different wallets and transactions to try and make heads/tails of what is a gain, what is not, what is realized or not, etc. Anyone know a good tax guy in NJ/NY area who actually understands this?

No one can be sure about that. Recommend to use a reliable bot to set up stop loss hidden orders. What bot would you recommend? Sorry, I am not using one. My suggestion is to traders with frequent buy/sells. My way to handle this is just put some small bids along the way down to a reasonable bottom during the sleep time, and watch the EMA and MACD for buying/selling signals during the daytime. But all these are just for a small part of my holdings, and the majority is just in the storage and I will never sell them unless something really bad happens. BTW: I found that I could've earned more if I put all my BTC in cold storage. So apparently I am not a good trader and please take my advice with a grain of salt.

Bitcoin doesn't need to be a currency to be successful. It will in fact be wildly successful even if only functioning as a store of value, the tax havens amounts to trillions. The first phase is speculation and this is where we are now... people believe in bitcoins future potential and that is what drives the price up and the large market cap will make it viable for large fortunes to be stored in bitcoin, eventually it will stabilize at much higher prices. At that point it will work well as a way to settle debt even if we're not able to do as many transactions as other networks I don't think it matters. Micro-transactions can happen off-chain, big money stored safely away from government and bankers.
How can big money be stored away safely if bitcoin is still tied to fiat currency? If fiat currency collapses, bitcoin no longer has anything to compare itself to, so how would we express value then? Using valuation in bitcoin itself? How would that work since there's a limited amount... I suppose comparing to gold or oil would be the answer. Energy use is not something that can be easily deferred, which smooths out demand fluctuations. However, transactions can more easily be structured so that they can deferred at will, making for a choppier demand environment. What are you talking about here? Energy use is periodic, that doesn't "smooth" anything since the demand fluctuation is fixed and known. Transactional "latency" has no impact on the demand environment unless you believe in magic. How does the fact that something can be deferred "at will", make the context in which that action is taken any "choppier"?
