According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

$1000 today?

Are the forum members attending the $1,000 party getting on their respective planes/trains?
That would be premature, what if it reaches $999 only to crash to single digits!

...but if the above was to come true, wouldnt you be worried about the power some of these people hold?

Everybody has power to his own coins, exactly as it should be.

I would be happy in a monarchy where rpietila was king.

Who the fuck are you!?

God damn man! God damn!

A real whale.

Just pray for him cashing out slowly and gently, he controls almost 1% of the coins that will EVER exist.

Its not him I'm worried about, based on his posts, hes pretty committed. Its the clients cashing out that worries me.

single digits are gone forever, double digits too.  It's getting hard to imagine $250 BTC now, even though that was the price about a month ago!
