I apologize if this has been posted before (if it has, I'll delete my post)

https://dailyhodl.com/2019/01/10/finance-legend-spearheads-new-bitcoin-etf-files-with-sec-expects-launch-in-2019/

"Bitwise Asset Management has filed a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) proposal with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The initial registration statement on Form S-1 is dated January 10."

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/bitwise-files-for-new-bitcoin-etf-300776268.html?tc=eml_cleartime

“The proposed ETF differs from previously filed proposed Bitcoin ETFs in that it will rely on regulated third party custodians to hold its physical bitcoin, and in that the index draws prices from a large number of cryptocurrency exchanges, representing the majority of currently verifiable Bitcoin trading.”

Thanks for posting!
I expect it’ll be rejected like every other one before it. That damn SEC doesn’t want us to all get rich!

Interesting - I only go pack a page or two when I look here - so its handy if you posted a second copy

hopefully the red will be followed by a bit of green - was nice to see a few gains this week =)

The SEC must curse the Winkies for opening the floodgates on them. At least it hasn't got to shitcoin ETF applications yet.

If I ran the SEC my ETF application page would simply show this.

I'm rooting for a surprise ETF to pump them prices so I can splurge on some fun FPGA hardware without fucking my now tiny stack.

(Thanks house downpayment(actually made me sell at like $6.1 so really thanks))

check the history - you might find one or two historical examples of green candlesticks - but you'll need to look back about 12 months - hopefully it wasn't all black and white back then

" Russia Will Buy $10 Billion in Bitcoin, Ditch US Dollar and Become Huge Crypto Whale: Russian Economist "  Shocked

Source : https://dailyhodl.com/2019/01/08/russia-will-buy-10-billion-in-bitcoin-ditch-us-dollar-and-become-a-huge-crypto-whale-russian-economist/

It seems like this might be fake news according to this article which is in Russian :

https://www.rbc.ru/economics/09/01/2019/5c36271a9a79472653e32608

I don't speak Russian but from what I got with Google Translator, Russians have changed $100 Billions into Yuans, Yens and Euros. There was no plan of changing them into BTC (or is this about another $100 Billions ?)
That's what Google Translator gave me :

"The Bank of Russia has transferred $ 100 billion in yuan, yen and euros
It became known, in which assets the Bank of Russia was transferred from the US government securities last year. About $ 100 billion of gold reserves were transferred to the euro, Chinese yuan and the Japanese yen.

In April — May, Russia arranged for an unprecedented sale of US government bonds, getting rid of $ 81 billion worth of papers in two months. This happened immediately after the April round of sanctions against Russia's largest businessmen, including Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg, their En +, Rusal and Renova companies. RBC wrote then that the Kremlin and the government are considering the toughest scenario of sanctions, including the disconnection of Russia from the interbank SWIFT system.

Information about Russia's withdrawal from US Treasury bonds came from the US Treasury Department, which publishes monthly data on foreign investment in US government debt. But in which currency Russia shifted, it was unknown.

Based on the information provided by the Bank of Russia, and the calculations of RBC for the second quarter of 2018:

The Central Bank has reduced reserves in dollars by about $ 100 billion (from $ 201 billion to $ 100 billion);
reserves in the euro increased by about $ 44 billion (from $ 102 billion to $ 147 billion);
reserves in the Chinese yuan increased from the same $ 44 billion (from $ 23 billion to $ 67 billion);
reserves in Japanese yen increased from zero to $ 20.6 billion "

Makes sense, this couldn't have been the news that caused the dip though, now could it?

I will watch for the next few days (Jan 10-15 lows), maybe nibble a little.

I often wonder if everyone is so focused on the hourly charts that they forget about longer trends. Anyway, looks like we will spend the next several weeks clawing back what we just lost...probably just in time for another dump at the end of April. #dyor

This looks so scary. Sixth red candle in a row.

As you said if this keeps happening we may even see sub $2k (tbh I can see us landing on $1500 on that graph) and we'll be the most happiest fucks if we ever get to see $6k in 2022. If anyone here got into bitcoin while it was above $10k...

Now is the time to...

PANIC

Stop spreading FUD! If you feel scared just sell and leave! If not.. shut up and #HODL!  Cool

Yes, but in 2105 /2016/2017 - it was the lowest price that year.

If you bought then in 2018, you would have lost most of it by now Wink

You don’t lose anything if you don’t sell. 1BTC is still 1BTC at any price.
I was at a 50% loss of my total investment in 2014.
