Post new feedback | Trust settings

Risked BTC amount is money that the person could have stolen or did steal. For example, if you do a currency trade where the other person sends first, your feedback for them would have 0 risked BTC and their feedback for you would have risked BTC equal to the BTC value of the trade.
Yup in theory for feedback in trading: currencies;hardware;collectibles etc
people who renege on eg auction promises, or who build scamcoins eg ethereum, or who post phishing links
nowadays it's just as often a dick-measuring contest

the default part was for newbies who couldn't know who to trust; they could rely on say some big well-known guy like philipma1957's opinion that suchandsuch mining supplier wouldn't rip them off

But I have never learnt what the Default Trust system is supposed to rate.  Anyone care to ELI5?  Is this for OTC trading?

It seems to largely be for cultivating grudges and oneupmanship.

I have spent many months nude in the wilderness cawing at eagles and communing with ancient sages in hilltop monasteries in an attempt to understand the default trust system.

I still do not. And care even less.

+1 WOsMerit

I care as much about that trust thing as I do about the merit system. Which I use sorta like a "like" buttom and it made me hero and stuff, but other than that is just a feature of the forum which is even more meaningless to me than a %1 volatility of Bitcoin which is what I really care about.

+1 WOsMerit

Welp those are the changes to how ratings are ascertained.

But I have never learnt what the Default Trust system is supposed to rate.  Anyone care to ELI5?  Is this for OTC trading?

Back in the day when escrow was king...a trust system was sort of handy to have. Today these OTC channels are quite strongly developed imo. Suppose it might be useful for some.

The flip-flop report

Some observer effects have been noted and I am now concerned that this "consolidation" period could turn into a correction downwards.

There is also the edge to edge effect where once price enters the cloud it can be drawn to the opposite edge.

Important question about the ichimoku cloud. If we pass through it, will the white buffalo be waiting to greet us on the other side?

This is true. We have already passed thru the majority of resistance and into the cloud structure. What we are going to encounter this next trading session is the lagging span running into the conversion line. If that is breached and the price remains near these levels it would be pretty bullish imho. If not, yah..expect a retraction.

I still want to see that attempt towards $4,300 but agree that the technical picture is deteriorating now towards a correction.

Arbitrary lines but this is what I am looking at:

1000 BTC sell wall on Finex at 4079.. was being eaten so it was pulled.  Hmmm, may be going up.   Someone really wants the price lower.   Hopefully all the weak people already dumped in the low 3k's.

It seems that most posters in this thread will provide some kind of attribution to the various substantive quotes that they make, but there are some members who do not.  That posting behavior seems to be misleading at best and arguably bordering on plagiarism under certain purposeful neglect cases... especially when such posting without attribution seems to be willful and persistent.

Edited to add my response to the following post.

Does it matter who said it initially? He posted it as a screenshot so it's clear he's not claiming it is his and it's not news or information that needs sourcing as it's self-contained and therefore interpretable without context.

Who cares who said it. I mean if a random hobo in the street said it would that change how you interpret the statement? You either agree or disagree. You are either receptive to the argument (insofar as present) or not.

Yes, it does matter, in part, for the reasons that I stated above.

Glad to see you back JJG.

I will solve this right now: Mic, JJG has a point here, you should *always* post a link to the source of your memes/twitter quotes.

Happy now? Smiley

P.S.: I needed almost a couple of minutes to make sense of your post. Please consider there are some non-english speakers here. Mic isn't. Neither me.

[edited out]
......I have repeatedly indicated that the chance seems unlikely, but there is no proof per se that CSW is not satoshi. Given the evidence we have at this time, that would be tantamount to disproving a negative. That ain't how logic works.

Your statement here, jbreher, borders on crazytalk.

There is absolutely no burden for anyone to prove that CSW is NOT Satoshi.

The burden is 100% (or at least fucking close to 100%) upon CSW to prove that he is satoshi, if that is what he intends to claim (or continue to claim).

Furthermore, decent and reasonable means of attempting proof through signing of a known satoshi block have been outlined many times, and CSW fails and/or refuses to even attempt the most reasonable acceptable means to accomplish such identification verification.

1000 BTC sell wall on Finex at 4079.. was being eaten so it was pulled.  Hmmm, may be going up.   Someone really wants the price lower.   Hopefully all the weak people already dumped in the low 3k's.

Earlier today I noticed that someone was hitting the sell button multiple times from the local peak of 4160 on Bitfinex. This is not the first time for me to recongize a single seller, rather than multiple simultenous sells. It was at first like a gut feeling, but now it is seen clearly that someone with >3000 (may be >10K) bitcoins is satisfied with this price and is impatient to sell. Same ol' same ol'. It happened so many times in 2018, the worst of which was the insane selling of fake Satoshi (CW) to pump his pathetic shitcoin. I really don't understand these people. If I was an early adopter/investor/miner with thousands of bitcoins, I would never sell for 80% less from the last ATH! This shows weak hands and lack of belief in the future of the king of all decentralized money. Of course, I know that there are miners who have to pay for their electricity bills, margin and futures shorters, etc. All this combined with the lack of good news (ETF) brought us here. But all this will not be enough to hold the price after the next halving, even without ETF. In fact, an early approval in 2019 can cause a pump and dump like in Dec 2017. It will be best if sometime after the next halving when staying at least 1 year well above 10K, the ETF be approved. Then we may witness prices which seem somewhat unrealistic now (100K party, cough, cough  Wink) I don't know for you, but I would like to see and enjoy those flickering ATH's signs everywhere and every day with all my stash intact! (I miss them so much that I am almost tempted to post one of those now  Grin)
