Wasn't that a great crash? Why, it surely marked the beginning of the end for Bitcoin as we know it.

Never before has anything crashed that far, that fast. It was dizzying, the intensity of the capitulation all the way down to the mid-700s.

Those people who sold in the 700s sure know how to work the market. Yep.

This is why I am bewildered by those who complain that so many coins are in the hands of too few. Quit selling them back so cheap and maybe we'd spread 'em around more.

I believe we have a falling knife. I think the shit still has to hit the fan when it's official mtgox is insolvable, bankrupt. I sold most of my bitcoins before it hits major press. Making money was never easier.
Things will cool down when everyone realizes it's only one incompetent company that went down.

It has constantly amazed me how people have continued to use Gox over these last 6+ months when exchanges like Bitfinex and Bitstamp have provided lower fees, better service and WITHDRAWALS.

I would assume in a rational world that these current circumstances, whether Gox dies or not, will wake people up to the idioticy of trading on Gox. I can't, however, assume that the bitcoin world is a rational world. It's not.

But I do think that little by little every last moron will get the message and get out of there and on to some place else.

Meanwhile I will continue to look forward to the day where we have a professional, licensed and regulated exchange in New York.
