Gox is below bitstamp? How is that possible?
Are fiat withdrawals working again?
Simple Gox-btc losing value v/s Gox-USD, as it cannot be withdrawn.. So when gox fixes btc withdrawals but not fiat withdrawals, does it rocket back up again? According to economics (I mean supply & demand) |

Bitcoin withdrawals stopped working. Well, on the good news front my BTC withdrawal (that was lost in the ether) has at least been re-credited to my GOX account. So, they are at least keeping their word there - you can't escape. Even though its a volatile market I'm buggered if I'm giving them anymore fees - if they had any sense they'd make it zero fees for the weekend - let people have some fun. Tried a withdrawal for a laugh...no notice that the service has stopped just an error message saying the amount is invalid. |

I've moved to 50% fiat.... it's making me nervous that Gox has dropped from over $900 to $840 but Stamp & BTC-E have barely shifted.
Maybe the gap is being closed (which is good) but I can't see why and there's not much news to go on, just the Apple FUD.
Arse... kicking myself now since I panic bought back in at a small loss (0.15 BTC) at $774. I'm not sure which is harder, holding in BTC hoping for $5,000 bitcoins (lol) or holding in cash hoping to increase your BTC stash with cheap coins. Either way I've missed out on profiting from this dip ! |

It may be that the banks re-opened after the New Year's holiday week, and money withdrawals became possible again; so that investors who were disappointed with Bitcoin's performance over the holidays immediately started dumping and taking the cash out.
And as we all know, you need to have a bank open to request a withdrawal from a web site. Here bank transfers are executed only during business hours. If that is the case in Chine too, a withdrawal from the exchange while banks are closed will only lock the money up. Clients presumably will prefer to keep playing until the banks open. |

Miners have not mined a block for over an hour. Means all the coins moving to the exchange to sell have been stuck in queue. Now released.
But that would just bring one short block worth of transactions. You need to wait 3 or more confirmations when all the transactions in that one hour window become available. |

hello Guys, and hell I was wrong, I thought we will never test that 700 again, and I still don't understand why, I wasn't paying attention to the price lately so I have no idea what is going on but something caught my attention, Stamp and Gox have the same price now !!!! are withdrawals on gox working again ?

It's actually not that difficult to see why. Put yourself in the shoes of one of the poor sods who didn't heed the warnings (and warnings. and warnings. and warnings...) to get out of that shithole mtgox. Until recently it was accepted that they have a fiat problem, ergo: a USD/BTC premium, in the range of 10 to 15%, because the goxtards felt holding btc is more secure. Now it turns out gox is one step away from going belly up, as they have problems with the coin withdrawal as well... What to do? Buy coins (that you can't withdraw), or sell coins (to get fiat you can't withdraw either). The result is really pretty simple: panic. And panic, in any market, leads to a crashing price of the asset, plain and simple. |
