That buy on Stamp was maybe the most retard behavior i have seen there in the last weeks...

The dumps down to 619 were pretty good as well ^ ^.

Clearly a winning strategy here is to hold limit orders far outside of market prices for flash movements. Then after the positions are filled, you quickly liquidate them once the movement has corrected itself. It is practically a 0 risk strategy.

I  just don't understand this current upward drift in price. Unless people are bored on Sunday.

I was just thinking the same thing. That's a $140 swing in just over 2 days. Still way too early to tell if it's a dead cat bounce or not, but it could be a real bottom. I made a little money, just enough to fight another day. TERA knows her shit and it's tough to take money off of her, so I savor these little victories :-D

Bored and greedy. As this day comes to an end, so will the uptrend.

That's possible, Newbie, but it's also possible that the worm has turned. Every torrent begins with a trickle.

I'm not a real trader, but that has been my strategy on virtex for a long time. Partially because the high fees force me to have my limit orders at quite a large spread anyways, and that virtex is so small and illiquid, that the flash movements can cut very deep, both ways.

I always extend my tranche far beyond what I feel is a rational price, because the big price moves are seldom rational.

I don't see how people won't just take profit of this ~$40-50 swing when there's nothing backing it up in more than 24 hrs.

Another fine day to be alive...

Business as usual - with more fun and games ahead no doubt....my general reaction to all of the drama of the past few days Gox included=

I salute you!

They might. I don't have a crystal ball. I just buy when it goes down and sell when it comes up, but I think it's possible that greed on Coinbase trumps fear in China. I tried like hell to buy the bottom, but San Francisco just didn't follow HooBoy. Without knowing the volume at Coinbase, we just don't know.

So will the MT.Gox countdown be as boring as the China count down on January 31?
Probably yes...

You know what happened after the China countdown ? Nothing.
You know what will happen on Monday ? Nothing. Although in this case it will be bad news.

I think Gox will keep the market stuck for at least another week.

MtGOX's 30-min or 15-min volume charts show a very steady background activity of about 600 BTC/hour, which started on Feb/07 between 12:00 and 13:00 UTC.

I can see a stream of 0.01 BTC trades (several per minute), as were seen several times over the last few months, but they could not add up to more than 5 BTC/hour.  So what is that big robot? Is Willy back on line?
