Ok my bearish prediction (i can't believe i'm doing this). Unless Gox will be fixed and the price goes up a lot i think we'll stay at 650 for a while. Some good news will be posted but the price won't react. Then halfway next week people slowly are gonna poop their pants again and by friday everybody is ready to panic sell again. The slightest hint of bad news will take us to 570. Moderate bad news will take us even lower. Real bad news and we'll see 200 or less.
Also think about this. Withdrawels are disabled and we fall 200 dollars. Withdrawels are enabled and we go up 30 bucks. Once agains shows that good news hardly does anything to the price anymore.
There will be no choo choo anytime soon. The only thing on people's mind is sell sell sell.

I wonder, if we are to repeat the same scenario as was in $32->$2? I wouldn't bet on that though. My buy orders end at about 480, which I think will be the bottom before the trend reverses.

Not worth risking $50 difference, you had today really nice chance.

Cmon 12hrs ago everybody was following gox price and now a $300 difference... Sounds more like idiotcoin to mee...
Whatever, hope we´ll see Gox bleeding out and die soon (I´m sorry for everybody who lost his money there). Or at least they´ll go under 200...

If, hypothetically speaking, MtGOX had lost most of its clients' coins due to theft or mismanagement, this price excursion could, hypothetically speaking, save their skin. MtGOX could buy the (non-existent) cheap coins in their clients' accounts by a small fraction of the money that those clients spent on them. Thus they would turn their hypothetical huge debt to their clients into big losses by their clients, with their implicit consent.
At the same time, hypothetically speaking, MtGOX would be grabbing the dollars of naive investors who buy coins there, attracted by the low price, only to learn that they cannot take the coins out nor have their money back.
I do not know anything about Mr. Andresen and the other people in the Foundation, except that they were close friends of Shrem and Karpeles and still seem reluctant to disown them. Makes one wonder whether the Foundation has any regards for ethics, even basic business ethics. Or whether the "Bitcoin community" itself knows what the word means.

Not worth risking $50 difference, you had today really nice chance. It depends on your trading style. I have small buy orders spread out in a certain range below, as well as some small sell orders spread out in a certain range above. A couple of my sell orders got hit today @624 and @649, which resulted in a few new buy orders from 600 and down, supplementing the already standing orders from 550 and down.

Dear Bitstamp clients,
A denial-of-service attack caused us to suspend the processing of Bitcoin withdrawals. Bitstamp, with help from the Bitcoin core developers, has implemented a solution that passes our preliminary tests and audits.
After additional testing, we plan to enable Bitcoin withdraws later today.
Thank you for your understanding!
Best regards,
The Bitstamp team

The one thing i'm contemplating is IF Gox resume btc withdrawals , how much will go directly towards stamp to dump for an instant 80-100% profit. Arbitrage the other way, who would have thought..

Breaking news: So Gox knew before BitStamp about the vulnerability and failed to implement the fix already ? While Bitstamp already did that.
