What a strange 'story'...it's more like a promotion for the "wolf of wall street'....for a minute I thought it must be a Fox production but no. Not often you see a Murdoch paper spruiking a non-Fox movie.

Greed can make us do funny things It's not so funny. Withdrawals will work again soon enough. Making loads of money quickly doesn't happen when there's no risk involved.

If it results in the loss of hundreds of millions in market value I'm going with "bug".
It is fair to say that several exchanges - most notably Gox of course - were tracking transactions in a way that was inherently unsafe. That, in combination with poor communication about a complex situation to the market, is what resulted in the losses. I am aware of the distinction. However from a consumer point of view it matters not whether the fault lies in the protocol or the wallet implementation. The consumer lost their investment due to exchange insolvency due to something happening which should not have happened. That's a bug. "should not" is a big phrase in the Bitcoin world. How about this one...the mint "should not" print money that the government issued an IOU to the treasury for...but it does so anyway. This is a bug that is being exploited as a feature!

Sometimes someone's entire point of existing is to serve as an example to others how not to exist ... you do not want to be that person. Sort of a destructive approach to character building? Wouldn't it be better if we could aspire to be like the people who impress us, rather than try to NOT be like the people who don't?

Well, at the moment Gox doesn't even load for me I wanted to check if they had actually said they would make a statement on Monday, which seems to be what people here at least are waiting for. So, if they make a positive statement on Monday I'd say the time frames would be against you. If they don't or make a negative statement then it becomes a bit of a gamble, don't you think? Perhaps you are richer than me....not difficult I admit

Gox might go under 300 in a bit. Crazy. I wonder how the lemmings on Stamp will react.

Who was hoarding so many BTC on gox when they could have sold or transferred it all the time?
