It really looks like alts are about to fall against BTC in the next couple of days, due to the short-term head-and-shoulders pattern being formed on the majority of ALTS/BTC. This may be a signal of bitcoin's significant move in the next few days. My guess is, it'd be (very) up.

I was somewhat inactive during the period 2014-2015 but it is my impression that there were more doom and gloom in comparison to this period. If too many people decides to keep hodling/buying just because of those predictions and when the time comes the outcome doesn't materialise -> problem.

It was WAY WAY different then.  There was ZERO, ZEROOOOOOOOOOO of these scammers and jackasses claiming Bitcoin is guaranteed to go up at a 45 degree angle forever to $1 trillion each back then.  On any given day, people talked like there was a 50/50 chance of the price going up or down.  There was more fear of down probably than anything.  Now the market is absolutely nothing but retards and scammers who claim the price is always guaranteed to go up aka a Ponzi scam.  It's obviously a recipe for disaster.

I wonder where Trump's team got the idea for superimposing Thanos onto his picture for his new  re-election campaign Twitter ad?

https://twitter.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/1204503645607333888?s=20

They should have asked xhomerx for help. He did a much better job.

Thanks to micg for the original idea, and a huge thanks to xhomerx for translating that into something amazing:

Speaking of reputations, also watched Giacomo Zucco troll Richard Heart which was funny but then Peter McCormick sneaks onto the show and Richard tears him a new asshole. Dayyym, Reputatation stains, ouch.
https://youtu.be/RY1KoQXM-R0

Walked away with a slightly better opinion on Richard, less of one with Peter and a new like for Giacomo.

Help, I stepped in the poop!

Shit man this thing is 3 hours, drop a timestamp!

I like this chico guy.

yeah, he distracts you with the 'just did a huge bong hit' manner and then drops bombs like a fuckin' B17 yo

I was also distracted by his new homeless look.

Whats the old look?

So he backed out of the fight after all the shit talking?

I like this chico guy.

Can't get it outta my head, could it be that Chico=Lambie?
Certainly full of it. Grin

JJG, analysis.

Now that would be funny if he's a WO regular but I can't see him being Lambie slayer.

Paying interest in bitcoins is a very simple play. Scammers will get your bitcoins with pleasure and sell them for fiat at the very moment they get them. They will even pay you interest if bitcoin price goes down and will show you the middle finger if price goes up. This is why only retards are looking for places where they can deposit their bitcoins to earn interest!

...but discombobulated nonsense.

Yeah, I've only watched the 2 and part of a third and I agree on his Bakkt results but he does seem to grab onto too much nonsense.

Just the same, the guys fucking entertaining.

I do not.  But I think it is worth considering the track records of trusted third parties holding the keys to "your" bitcoin, and how that makes it effectively their bitcoin, and exposes you to all the counterparty risk that brings with it.

BlockFi may be a perfectly good organization, as were/are some organizations this list (which is not complete):

I am in computer hell here...fuck

I wasted hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get to a desktop the other day and finally figured out the primary was being displayed to a monitor that was off and I kept rebooting to a fucking secondary screen without the logon!
Reboot, stare at screen waiting for logon fuck reboot repeat.
Did I mention how much i hate computers.
I hate it worse when its my own stupidity! Cheesy

Micro$oft end of support for Win7 eminent.

Handy to have internet in the shop for looking up specs, constants, formulas and whatnot.  No room or patience for 2 machines out there.

Antique CNC controller (Super-Tech EMC-XYZ-BX) has no drivers or config info for Linux, figured this out after 3 different distro installs.

Turns out, Mach3 parallel port driver absolutely will not work in a 64bit environment, figured this out after setting up a salvaged machine with win10 already on it.

Started to re-purpose another older box, kept hanging on install, several hours to track that down to a flaky CPU, have to do a win7 install first because this thing won't boot from USB, finally get that all worked out and...

now having to sidestep Micro$oft account creation and muzzle Cortana and turn off all the spylemetry (that they let you), so far it has been 3 days of walking in place and I don't even know if this is going to driver up its PCI-parallel card and work yet

and being reminded that I have to go through Linux dependency hell on all the rest of the boxen by Jan 14...

What about in a virtual machine? I've had this issue with serial interfaces and found some good pass though port emulation drivers but haven't looked for any on parallel ports. I bet it would be fun trying to get some of the old Parallel port keys going these days.

Ok this post is too friggin long all ready i need a break.

OK...one more...

We might need it to parse JJG posts.

We'd need a Dually Epyc system for that! Cheesy

...

The problem is latency.

CNC needs really precise timing, like realtime kernel precise, which is why the parallel port is on the PCI bus, USB adapters are a recipe for disaster.

I know you googled, but those hits are referring to purpose built USB input motion controllers that deal with timing internally.  This thing isn't worth converting to a new motion controller...though somehow it is worth days of my time...

If you can pass through the port you won't have latency.

All the issues with bitcoin custody can be easily solved. More regulations to protect customers are needed...

Every retard that is looking to deposit their bitcoins to 'earn' interest is sponsoring bitcoin dumps. It is really that simple!

Welp you lost me there, let the retards lose everything and keep the fucking government out of my bitcoin.

Regulate this.

We don't need some fucking politician making laws because there are morons who can't do their own due diligence.

USB is a shit interface that's barely even reliable for a single 1000hz polling device, let alone two.  Yes, you can plug two in and they don't explode, but performance is degraded, drops counts, etc.  And each iteration of USB just adds more buffering and latency to try and achieve higher throughput to support things like video output.  Mission critical devices that the computer actually requires like mice should have their own interface instead of USB, then just let all the garbage devices occupy the USB slots, and keyboards should have never left PS/2 in the first place!  They're still there on laptops.

explain

In a long shameful convoluted story, I find myself with a new tricked out MacBook Pro 16", and a Time Machine brain transplant from the last machine. Not yet fully cloned. New MBP runs only Catalina. Apple has seen fit to -- get this -- prevent users from writing to the root directory of the filesystem.

Now I need to figure out how I want to map a nearly four-decade-old directory structure to the absurd dictates of my new environ.

For that price, customers do not get the display – which starts at $4,999 – or the $999 stand that holds up that screen.

OTOH, take a look at a similarly-configured Dell's price.

I don't have to spend so much money, I set up my last computer with a Supermicro board with a dual processor:
Intel Xeon E5-2680v2 (x2)
RAM64GB
Asus Strix GTX 1070 8G
3 screens and many TB on different disks, it is the machine that I currently use as a server and also, music, photography, video, work tasks.

It's not the same, but it costs much less.

VB1001: you should add a picture with all the hat on your wohats.com, ideally clicking on a certain hat would take you to the decimated page.

I will look for a solution for this.

I'd rather beat him up, that feeling is quite nice too.

In the office? At the meeting?
Nice to dream about that, but in RL this never was an option.
I had bad luck with violence from the start, so i avoided it. In school, two guys were mobbing me, so i hit one guy with the back of my hand full-on and his nose started to bleed like mad. Then the teacher made sure i was kicked out of school. Lesson learned (but i never mobbed anyone, later on).

Don't take it too seriously, when I say "I'll cut you" or I"ll beat you" its a symbolic threat made to show my resentment of the person it's aimed at. I'm not actually going to look up JJG in the phone book and come to his house.
