I still can't believe they've lost all their coins due to the malleability issue. Just how can it be possible  Huh

And those IRC logs didn't make it sound like there is a saviour waiting to buy them out. This is the mother of all fuck ups.

What are the odds that we stay over 500 the next 24h?

Pretty good unless there's a goxxing from beyond the grave.
This is exactly what happening now. Mark in the IRC channel still claiming everything is ok. It's like an undead zombie you can't kill.

he's talking about seizures, problems they've had with banks etc in the past

the coins are gone, 'temporary unavailable' means he hoped he could make it back over time following the crisis strategy

I'm obviously speculating but nobody is deluded enough to think that they can make their entire deposit balance back by trading coins that don't exist. Dont forget people are just trading numbers in a database if that amount is lost then there are no coins to make back.

But what news from Mark could be make things worse? The think with the 750 000 lost btc over the years?

what could be worse is that Mark actually confirm this...

ANY news from Mark other than "someone else is taking over" is bad news. It means he's still poisoning the pond. He seems to be incapable of learning.

Mark has the coins. He just wants them all for himself. He will give the dangerous people their money who threaten his life and keep the rest.

Actually I've been noticing the transaction volume DECREASING lately.

If you remove popular addresses, then transactions have been increasing exponentially:

Including popular address is less relevant in my opinion, because there has been a huge shift away from on-chain gambling (e.g., the original Satoshi Dice) to off-chain gambling (e.g., just-dice.com).  Just-dice.com takes something like 100 bets per second on average.

EDIT: Also Coinbase-to-Coinbase wallet transfers happen off-chain too.

@thelema93

[10:58] <JonWickedFire> Is that Crisis Strategy Draft even legit?
[11:04] <MagicalTux> more or less
[11:05] <MagicalTux> as the name suggests it's a draft, and it's a bunch of proposals to deal with the issue at hand, not things that are actually planned and/or done

Karpeles denies the document was produced by Mt. Gox, but confirms that it is “more or less” legitimate.

[12:06] <JonWickedFire> Guys on Reddit and WickedFire are running around posting screenshots of horror stories about how much bitcoin they have lost from this..
[12:06] <MagicalTux> didn't check my wallet before pushing the site offline

I do not think one can expect Gox's website to become operational soon  Cry
