Why would somebody actually buy Gox right now ? It is a bad investment. Their brand is worth $-1 right now.

so buy high and sell low?

The recovery is maxed out for now. It's going to take at least a day to consolidate and break $520 if not longer.

The market is far from rational right now. I doubt this will be our last time going past $500 again. The fact that this recovery is occurring at super speed is shocking.

We'll be sub $400 within days. We'll be testing $300 before we start meaningful sustained upwards movement again.

Source?

Shroomskit, I've been noticing you over the past couple of days and you're like a chicken with it's head removed.
If you are unable to form an opinion of your own, it might be in your best interest to stop trading and decide once and for all:

HODL or SODL...

I don't trade you idiot. I just find it interesting how all these people seem to exactly know what's gonna happen in the future. And welcome to my ignore list.

Wow, so defensive... Glad to hear you don't trade, I can image you would have lost a lot otherwise. It's amusing that you think others know exactly what's going to happen. Most of the people here use the simplest forms of TA to make a statement. Instead of being so but-hurt and asking "source" everywhere, why don't you try and educate yourself?

You are really slow aren't you? Look up the meaning of sarcasm. Yes, you look really stupid now.

I think he was saying who would buy the company Gox.... as their brand is worth $1 - but if the price was right, and you
ended up with 1 million client accounts, that are ready to trade, if only a professional entity would take over Gox
- then yeah buying Gox as a distressed asset , and turning it around could be a great buy .... buy low , sell high ; )
Depending on what debts they could have of course... what coins they may have lost etc

But do we really know what is going on yet?

I have just woken up...

Are Gox really 100% gone?  or is this just the biggest goxxing yet?

ps- also I eard that MtGox was processing JPY yesterday
pps Also  if you were going to do a bunk, surely you could do it in a much better fashion than this, why pull the site, and twitter etc when you could fade quietly away...and just leave everyone hanging for another month whilst you make good your get away? unless Mark is incompetent at skipping town too...

I'm well aware of sarcasm. I just assumed you weren't sharpest knife in the drawer, and I guess I was right.

A million or whatever customer base, who want to continue trading? Must be worth alot.
Im just looking for errors in my above statement, really. Trying to learn something.

Folks, again, the clients of an exchange are its main liabilities, not its assets.  If a client has a balance of 1000 USD or 100 BTC in his account, it means that MtGOX owes those amounts to that client; and anyone who buys MtGOX will be buying those debts.

The sum of those debts for MtGOX, in BTC and national currencies, has been estimated as a billion dollars or more.  No one knows for sure, since MtGOX has never released those numbers.

In fact no one knows how many active clients (who, say, trade at least once a month) MtGOX had two months ago.  My guess (with no factual basis, just a feeling) is less than 10,000.

I disagree, I knew he had buyers lined up. However with this leak (if its true) let's see if they still want to bail out Gox.

I suspect bullshit from Shrem.

The leaked scribd document wasn't the only leak. Remember, mtgox.com homepage still currently reads:

Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>MtGox.com</title>
</head>
<body>
<!-- put announce for mtgox acq here -->
</body>

where it could easily be found. I suspect if this is a delaying tactic? Anyway, MTGOX effectively leaked hints of a takeover, real or not.

Genius move - many people wanted the service and some who got out at 60% or more of their value, will be most grateful if Gox has indeed gone.

He set up exchange that trades simply and easily and does what it claims to do, by all accounts.

Hats off to him, IMHO
