Looks like Coinbase just busted... Couldn't handle the ALT spike
The Buddha asks: "If a shitcoin dies in the forest, but no one is around to hear it, did it make a sound?" On the other hand, "if shitcoin goes up 10 fold in one month, it does make a ka-ching sound" btw, I don't have IT, but FOF told me. Feeling a little pancake-y here, but it was and still is my choice.

Ahh yes, way back in the day before '6tf social distancing', when it was still possible to reach someone's face with an arm. I remember those days, people seemed happier then. @Biodom, haha,I LOL'ed

A pretty good news source has just born: Today marks the third anniversary of the day #SegWit reached lock-in threshold on the #Bitcoin network. Today also marks the launch of the #BTCTimes. The @BTC Times delivers quality reporting of the #Bitcoin news you care about: https://twitter.com/btc/status/1292160378609123329?s=21This news outlet is by om @lopp (one of my fav bitcoiners) @eiaine @LinaSeiche (I am strangely obsessed with her) @AaronvanW ( one of the most knowledgeable journalist in the BTC sphere) @giacomozucco (my fellow Italian bitcoin prophet). Also involved @SatoshiLite @fluffypony @Excellion (Who might have something to disagree with my above obsession) and others...

I'll be interested to see what it comes out with but anything with Samson Mow involved has murdered its objectivity before it was born. He could do with getting a nice job on a fishing boat or something.

Just my 25 öre on the mask thing. where I live (Sweden) there is no law requiring you to wear a mask, and nobody does. And if I'm correctly informed, the same goes for Norway Denmark and Finland, but I'm not entirely sure about that. The reason is that the Swedish "CDC" claims that there is no evidence of mask wearing in public having any effect, they do however say that it has effect in certain situations, for example in health care situations. You can read their recommendations for yourself here, not a word about wearing a mask. https://www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se/the-public-health-agency-of-sweden/communicable-disease-control/protect-yourself-and-others-from-spread-of-infection/I'm not getting in to a debate on weather they are right or wrong, just pointing out that it's not black or white, there are western civilized country authorities that don't promote mask wearing.

The idea of local private currency is not a new concept, see the Bristol Pound or the Utah Goldback note. However, that wooden scrip thing is completely vulnerable to counterfeit.

Nice link. I know of local community who tried to make a currency at the turn of the century, tourism souvenir value drove most of the demand, it was printed on some press difficult to counterfeit and accepted by both local businesses and banks. Popular in the beginning, not many had ever heard of such a concept, people had sovereign hopes but kinda just lost interest and died out somewhere around 2008. I've got one of the notes which are still accepted there (as far as I know).

Wow! Hey, I wonder what would happen if someone were to create a digital currency pegged to the US dollar and tried to use it as a means of exchange? edit: Could these wooden plaques function as a security?

I'm not up on him.
Cut him and he bleeds Blockstream all over you. And he does it in a rather trollish manner. Not totally sure what my feelings are about the whole Blockstream thing, but he's one of those people who you already know what their point of view will be without having to check what they've actually said. Such people sideline themselves and everything they touch.

I wonder if any of these shit coin profits will end up being converted into King BTC? Shit coins are shit coins, they pump & inevitably dump, hopefully some of the profits find their way into bitcoin.

They always do, as soon as the ship starts to sink the rats all leave to hide in bitcoin.

I don't think so. Some people would rather like to make dumb investments, unfortunately.

If Sweden's health care system isn't overwhelmed, their actions on Covid have been successful. Preventing all deaths is unrealistic. It's not, in fact things are slowly returning to normal, all the temporary hospitals, including the MASH units are gone, in fact they were hardly used at all. The weird thing is that although we have the same preventive measures all over the country, the outcome varies widely. In Stockholm and some other places the numbers are high, but in other places such as Scania, where I live, that is densely populated, they are very low, lower even than in Copenhagen where they have a lockdown.
