Organizing a party at $50k for my freinds but what time should i give them? Maybe tomorrow is fine with it Wink

Give the party at $50k once the BTC price reaches $60k - that way your odds of staying above $50k should be better, but then you may have to wait a while before you are able to schedule such a $50k party..

Look at me, ruinin dee moo.......ruinin dee moo...    Shocked   Shocked

By the way, similar to some other WO regulars, I am still thinking that the resistance between $46k and $53k should not be very strong, but even with those kinds of suspicions, none of us can really have a lot of confidence of getting to $50k or even to $53k in a quickie manner and without some kind of surprise reversal or stoppage of the UPpity momentum, even though the UPpity momentum seems to be doing quite well in terms of both continuing and also likely ongoingly recking beartwats, no coiners, bitcoin naysayers, shitcoin pumpeners, and bitcoin fence sitters along the way.

Nice to see some upward movement!

An update @xhomerx?

Hm?

For some reason I missed that one, or I could not remember seeing it previously.

As far as we know you are quoting a dead man.  He held a lot of bitcoin while he was alive, and probably lost more than many in this thread could imagine.
What an insight you shared there. I just checked the user's profile. They were last active in March. That means their demise happened recently. What a loss.

The rumor is it was a car wreck.  Truly sad.  He made lots of enemies here because he was also a thief/scammer.  He started a crypto "game" that I think used monero, but then had it's own google sheets based "currency", and he basically exit scammed, supposedly went to jail (not sure if related) and most likely lost most of it...

I had several long private conversations with him.  he was a tortured soul.  At least some of the time.

I never knew, however, that he was a violin appraiser.  Lol.

The Bitcoin price will go up another 25% every time the Fed decides to print another $1T.

You heard it here first.  Grin

That seems like too bold of a claim because your units are not matching, Torque.

Every $1 trillion of new money printed is hardly even adding up to diddly squat, relatively speaking.

Sure, $1 trillion was a lot of money in 2019 and before that, but these days, it is hardly enough to even count for anything.. even though I am NOT going to disagree that if they keep printing trillions and trillions, it is going to start to add up to being a lot of money.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Pretty soon you will be tipping waitresses with $trillion bills.  Go figure.

Oh I am not stupid. That would be a fraction of my crypto I would spent on a car. Would keep the rest invested.

Oh my god.

You hold "crypto"?  Holy shit.

Poor fella.

So do you guys think bitcoin will fully collapse within a year, or it'll be 5+ years for this death to play out completely?

I thing the 5 year scenario seems more sensible.  But I also think there is a significant chance we see the mother of all "dumps" (could be a series of amazingly large "dumps") sometime in a year.  I think it is likely to do the thing that surprises the most people...

What do you think, sir?  You have been a consummate predictor so far.

I had to look up "consummate," and for some strange reason, it does not seem to be the right word choice to describe proudhon's past predicting practices.

I am backlogged here... But I gotta say I think it is EXTREMELY BULLISH that the entire US including several infoluential is talking about "crypto" and how this bill is no good for it while bitcoin sails through resistance after resistance whilst just taking a quick breath to fill the options gap, and we here are deeply mired in COVID talk.

Funny how people are still Medium blogging why people should not invest in crypto in <insert year here>

I agree.

Don't be investing in "crypto"  that would surely be a stupid thing to do.

That's disgusting, toxicmoxic!!!!

...

First, some news, this is the best article I've seen re BTC supply running/to run slow that's easy to understand:

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/markets/impending-bitcoin-supply-shock

*   *   *

Even though I have ridden out various UP and DOWN cycles, as well as very sharp spikes & dips, I still have been (somewhat) surprised by this latest move to (over) $46k since the last bottoms of some $30k...  That is a 50% bounce off that local low.  Not bad.

Interesting how that has happened despite (in spite of?) the hard-to-understand crypto machinations of the "Infrastructure" bill that CONgress wants to now pass.

Not knowin' nuthin' here (esp. 'bout teknikal analisis), but I think that BTC has impressive strength going forward.

JJG has always shown good sense re n00bs looking to enter.  Buy in small-ish quantities, DCA.  Recognize your overall financial situation (so if you sell some, like I did to fund-up our second grandchild) you can, and without guilt.  Balance in one's financial affairs is a virtue.  Took some of his good advice, some, as my situation is very different than most WO-ers.  Thanks, JJG.

Special shout-out to Sr. Bob the lawyer rancher, whose help helped me nail down a better future for my progeny as well, GEMINI came in handy...  Sincere thanks.

Also, while I am shouting-out, sincere thanks to Dabs as well, as I have added the "plank" (and a variation on the theme) to my own exercise program.

EDIT: Other news.  Anonymint has appeared at Zero Hedge under that name.  Has to be him (Armstrong, "1s" good, "3s" and "bc1q's" bad, etc.).  I saw a comment by him just yesterday, but is apparently new on that forum.

Short the shit out of this false breakout dudes like a boss! Dont be sheep, sell like a man.

Disclosure: Sold BTC772 at $153.
That simple post stopped me in my tracks this morning. I had to spend a few minutes pondering over it. It's the same way those selling at >$40,000 will also look in a few years from now.

Do a mental take on it to get the impact of that reality in today's value.

Gotta go now, have to pick up some spare parts for my old Volvo, time for a overhaul, winter is coming.

Time to get a new one and keep the old for summer useage

Next year maybe, for now it'll do just fine.
So, I have decided to give the car some love.
a new generator 170 USD (the bearings in the old one is starting to make noise), two new fan belts, 16 USD, 4000 lumen LED lights for the hi beam, 32 USD, two "new" front tires (from the scrap yard, 80 USD for both, including putting them on and balancing), a wheel side and a plastic cover for the radiator fan, also from the scrap yard, 17 USD.
And a delicious meal, 1 sausage, mashed potatoes and shrimp sallad and a Pucko with that, and for dessert a cup of coffee and a cinnamon bun, 4 USD.

Bitcoin the best. What a spectacular growth.  Shocked Today, for the first time, we touched the next level of resistance at $46 000.

After all, no matter what anyone says, the levels are a force. Bitcoin for 20 days showed +50% . Amazing !!!  Shocked

To all who held, not giving in to panic and not selling their coins on the cheap, a solid bonus arrived, for their faith and expectations.

I present the emotions of those who did panic and sold their bitcoins for $ 35-30k... Cheesy

Yep...

For sure there are folks who sell their coins on the way down, fail/refuse to buy when the prices are low and perhaps even believe that the BTC price is going lower, and we are currently experiencing a decent amount of "on the grounds" information that the bottom is quite likely to be in.. sucks to have been a seller rather than a buyer at those low $30k prices, and surely the less severe of negative scenarios would have been to merely have been a HODLer during those trying times and relatively lower BTC prices, so long as sufficient and material quantities of purchases of BTC had already been made at some earlier point(s).

[edited out]

I see tons of resistance as we battle back to 63k and finally to my promised 70k (promised for May 1 2021) better late then never. Cheesy

You are not likely saying anything much different than anyone else in these here parts.

Sure, it is possible to go shooting back up to $63k and even to $70k, but those would likely be outlier-type scenarios.

So, if we get some resistance at some point in the upper $40ks to the lower $50k, that would not be unusual in a case like this in which we have already experienced more than 50% BTC price appreciating in less than 3 weeks and without any real or meaningful price correction along the way.

So surely getting back to the OLD ATH territory or even the UPPER part of the OLD price range would not be any kind of easy-peasy given - after having had gone through with a 56% price correction as well as more than 2.5 months of being somewhat stagnated in a largely 40% to 50% correction arena (of course, measuring from the $64,895 ATH from mid-April).

For sure, it can be dangerous to presume UPpity without experiencing any resistance coupled with the UPpity, but hey you never know in bitcoinlandia regarding what is going to happen, and sometimes we do get UPpity without any significant/meaningful corrections along the way, and that surely ends up fucking over a lot of bearwhale twat peeps who continue to place shorts and continue to get wrecked and sooner or later they give up placing those kinds of ongoing shorts, and then maybe at that point, the BTC price goes through some kind of meaningful correction in the 25% to 35% arena.. perhaps? perhaps?

A lot of ways that short-term BTC price momentum can play out, and surely many of us still appreciate that there are longer-term underlying BTC price dynamics that continue to put UPpity pressures on BTC price, whether normies account for those underlying BTC price dynamics or invent their own BTC price prediction models that may or may not end up playing out.

As far as we know you are quoting a dead man.  He held a lot of bitcoin while he was alive, and probably lost more than many in this thread could imagine.  But he was mentally unstable, had a bit of an unhealthy relationship with substances, and ended up leaving behind a wife and kid.  He bought a haunted house in Estonia for a million USD and it burned down a while back.  Possible his "death" was a hoax.  Yeah, with him that's very possible.  But I don't think so...

Possibly the biggest lesson to learn from Risto is all the money in the world is truly worth nothing in the end.  The things we think it gains us?  They cannot be purchased.  Happiness cannot come from wealth.  Risto spent a lot of time trying to buy himself the admiration of others.  he surrounded himself with people who would worship him.  And in the end he lost everything, and in a spectacular and tragic way.

Popescu is another that fits a lot of these sorts of things, though I think he worshiped himself enough not to need many others...

There are some folks in this thread with plenty of money who live miserable lives, and some who have only a little, but have happiness.

And there are a few who have both wealth, AND happiness... but have you ever noticed how that seems to be the smallest group?  Interesting.  And worth thinking about considering where we are going.  Many of you who have a "little, and happiness" are not going to stay in that group for much longer.  Make sure you hang on to what matters and live life along the way.  No moment can ever be reclaimed.

In the end, if you were not happy before you were rich, it's unlikely you will be happy when you are (rich).
My two cents.

i tried to switch out my rear brake/turn signal lights on a 2010 jeep for brighter LEDs. the computer didnt like the different current draw so threw errors (blinkers went super fast, normally an indication a turn signal bulb died.. the LED didnt draw enough to convince the computer it was working apparently). wtf try to install better than original parts and the computer says "nope"

also heard putting HID (think thats it) headlights on a lot of computerized vehicles causes problems too. wrong current draw.

love my 2000 XJ, i can fix/upgrade most anything and all it does is keep running.

Nope, if you look in the cart you will see the generator and fan belts. Biltema (literally "car theme") is a popular generic low price car parts (and a lot of other stuff) chain, they have the cheapest "food" you can find in these here parts.

On Topic:
I saw bitcoin climb up the whole day while i was on the road. Seems we're well through the dip again.
My brother in law (not the nocoiner, his younger brother) has bought some $TRON last winter, when i recommended him to sell them for Bitcoin and forget about it for a year, before he might have a look at the price again. Saw him today and forgot to ask him if he followed my advice. He's around town the whole week, so i gotta ask him tomorrow (if i don't forget about it).

Also, while I am shouting-out, sincere thanks to Dabs as well, as I have added the "plank" (and a variation on the theme) to my own exercise program.

You have to add the side-plank, mandatory for balanced upper body musculature.
Reverse rows are making strong arms and corrects poor posture, you might consider adding them as well.

Yeah, had the same problem with some of my lights, you have to get the lights that's made for canbus, they are called different things, like canbus canceller or canbus ready. If you get those you won't get any hyperblink or error message, I have super bright LED lights on my front and rear blinkers and my backing lights, so now they actually do some good when I reverse.
