Thought it may be interesting to note for those who dont know...There was an airdrop for dydx layer 2 dex, you had to trade a certain amount during august or something, etc.  Someone did 1.7 BILLION in wash trades, paid like 3 million in fees, etc, to game the airdrop with multiple accounts and get a huge share of the tokens awarded.  it was so blatant and obvious that they just deleted him (keeping the fees of course) from the airdrop.   Grin
not promoting the exchange or anything, just put a smile to my face.

I was mentioning this in the passing before, but here is the interesting link:

https://www.technologyreview.com/2021/09/04/1034364/altos-labs-silicon-valleys-jeff-bezos-milner-bet-living-forever/

It seems that large money don't want to die anymore.
Bezos is 57 and the clock is ticking.
They just might come with something in 10-15 years.
"Rejuvenation" or Yamanaka factors are real, but putting them into adults is not possible due to the side effects in a form of tumors.
So, they would have to tweak the process (get rid of oncogenic side effects).
Here is more info on ISRIB, another molecule one of the mentioned scientists is studying:

https://www.statnews.com/2016/09/28/memory-isrib-peter-walter/

I believe that there would be a large private investment going into this area.
Who knows, maybe having a largish pie of btc would allow for an early access Wink

yea, but what about those who made only $3 mil in wash sales? My point is that you can only catch the most obvious violator while many others squeaked by.

Nothing says "trustworthy" like having people play by rules and then changing them when you don't like the results.

Hm. Found this and thought it would be good for the community. Know where you are, do everything fucking possible to stay alive.

That said, If you're going through covid, these are the stages if it hits hospital-land.

If you have the money (and many people here do) make sure you have an ECMO machine lined up, bought, and fucking manned 24*7 before you get anywhere near stage 3.

This is disturbing.

(For the record, based on this and my memories my friend blew his brains out at about the end of stage 2 early last year when he was going to be taken to the hospital and my other friend called me at about the end of stage 3 in December before dying in 2 days)

They terminated 80 accounts +-, but yeah obviously some wash trades went by.  As for the above comment, I dont agree as hunting down and murdering all other participants would be a good reason to terminate your accounts, considering wash trades and killing people are both illegal.

Actually it does need specifying. Maybe there is more to the context of this incident, but from what you said it didn't sound that they did anything wrong. Trade volume is trade volume. If I have a million trinkets and roll them over 1000 times that's legitimate volume of one billion. All those exchanges have no problem publishing that shit when they need to show how big they are, right?

I disagree again, wash trades are illegal in the usa since well almost 90 or 100 years now.  Also in every country.  Its the commodity exchange act or something to that effect.  whatever though, im happy they got fucked. edit: yeah exchanges wash trades on the frequent to boost volumes, ive always been opposed to that.  hope they get fucked too

Wash sales are not illegal. There are certain tax consequences, basically you have to maintain cost basis through a wash sale.

His crashed Duccati that he bought when BTC was $700 per each.. looked pretty damned nice too... and gosh, you might wonder why some peeps never make it even close to fuck you status.

But they have a lot of funzies along the way...  and might be crying a lot when they are in their 50s that they do not have much of anything and they are also not feeling like working so much, either.. .... but do they have a choice at that point?

To each their own, no?

hey JJG, why the bad vibes?? I really enjoy reading your walls of text, and I usually adhere to your toughts. But this negativity surprises me.

Let him enjoy his wealth. Carpe diem they say.

He can do whatever the fuck that he wants, but there are a lot of folks who get all excited about some small level of profits and cash out way too much BTC too early and in order to consume.

Seems to me that we would not as excited about taking profits but instead excited about where we expect this bad boy to be going in the next 4 to 12 months-ish.

Do you consider that it was a good time to be cashing out most of your stash at $700 per BTC in 2016 and acting like you are some kind of BIG baller to buy a Ducatti with a pretty large portion of your BTC value, when the fact of the matter would have been way the hell more prudent to have delayed some of that gratification.

Of course, guys can do whatever they want, but it seems a bit strange to be flouting consumption of highly-depreciating objects when we are likely in the cusp of some more decently-sized BTC price appreciation in the coming 4-12 months.

And no fucking way is julian071 even close to fuck you status... but he wants to purchase depreciating assets and make it appear that he has more money than he has...

Good for him.

He likely spending way too much of his stash too soon.. but whatever... let him consume the fuck, but no reason for me to be sitting here and telling him how wonder he is for his cashing out BTC and flaunting his consumer goods..

Lots of guys end up consuming way too much too early, when in 2016, julian071 could have ended up being able to buy 28x more Duccatis with the same value of BTC by just waiting a year or more, and today he may well be in a similar position in buying a Tesla and missing out on 5x or more continued BTC price appreciation in the coming 4-12 months.. I don't know.. I don't know regarding where the short term BTC price is going even though like I already suggested, it seems a wee bit strange to be seeing a pattern of suggesting some kind of baller status for some peeps, which really is suggesting to sell your bitcoins.. which seems a kind of strange timing to this here cat.

51K? Shocked WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWEEEEEEE

Not quite yet buttercups, but you are getting the idea for what may well be coming.
