Sure. but bitcoin is more like TCP/IP your argument is invalid. colored coins it like the HTTP layer you'll see pretty soon poeple will be using the Bitcoins tech without even knowing it you could say the same thing for ripple which could be both TCP/IP and HTPP. Anyway things are evolving quickly and we'll know soon(within 5years) what standards will stay or not. I'm still not sure bitcoin will win honestly, ripple is more evolved.

In that case you may want to consider: NXT, ORB, AUR, etc., please forgive me if I missed some other IPO/Super premine coins.

No, please don't listen to mah87. Ripple is the largest scam around. It's basically a 100% pre-mined coin with no actual mining to protect the network. It's a centralized alternative to Bitcoin. Yes so are fiat currencies. I'd advocate buying Euros and Dollars over buying Ripple and considering my apathy against those that's saying something.

Good for you but you better learn about it, I'm not talking here to push people to buy some XRP (even if I do like XRP ^^). Colored Coins are really similar to Ripple. But, in my opinion, having this based on bitcoin blockchain is not an advantage, it's slow. However Ripple could die if it can't achieve a critical mass, it could also become what bitcoin+colored coins try to do but in a better (no mining, electricity waste and power concentration between few miner) and faster way (instant validation +/- 5sec).

This is also OpenSource and not centralized. Furthemore when you see the concentration of power with only few miners and that 10 000 bitcoins holders own 75%+ of the bitcoins in circulation... This is really being in denial that bitcoin is FAR from being perfect and that the network is in the hand of very very few people...

Ripple is the worst currency I've ever seen. Attacking Bitcoin in any way won't change that. The correct value of XRP is zero and I'm neither exaggerating nor kidding.
I shouldn't even try to react here (because it's useless anyway) but it just ticks me off that you're trying to get people to burn their money.

It touched 10cents when bitcoin was at 1200$ so if ripple survive and find a real utility (which imo will arrive this year) it will at least touch this point again. If ripple can't find a real utility in 2014-2015 then it could be 0 (and 0 is also a possibility for bitcoin).

You don't get it. Ripple is the most flexible payment network that has ever existed. The ONLY advantage of Bitcoin above Ripple is that Bitcoin is more spread actually, but it may change really really soon... Bitcoin is just the beginning, some other better system may appears.

The ONLY advantage of Bitcoin above Ripple is that Bitcoin is more spread actually, but it may change really really soon... The Ripple payment network was a great idea and I was enthusiastic about whether it would work in practice. Then the founders turned it into a get rich quick scheme by creating a currency (XRP, by many referred to as Ripple). This cured me of any form of belief in the people behind Ripple. The addition of a currency was and is completely unnecessary and even if the payment system take hold the value of the currency should approach zero. I hope someone retries to make Ripple as it was supposed to be and I'll be curious about the practical feasibility of a distributed trust/IOU network.

I'm saying all in all Ripple system is = bitcoin+coloredcoin +ethereum in more efficient.

You are practically screaming "I am invested in Ripple please make it go up". Ripple has an interesting idea but fundamentally solving decentralized IOUs with a level of trust like bitcoin has yet to be invented. A Gateway can go under and it is incentivized to cover up as long as possible. This trust issue can't be trivially removed
