Cryptographers are not happy with how you’re using the word ‘crypto’

Look up the word “crypto” in Webster’s dictionary, and you’ll see it refers to cryptography, which in turn is defined as “the computerized encoding and decoding of information”. Search “crypto” on Google, however, and you’ll see a host of top results pointing to cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ethereum.

I think calling cryptocurrencies ‘crypto’ is a poor choice,

I remember I did some R&D about the word “cryptocurrency” on request of WO bros and got similar results.

So I'm 100% convinced and agreed to your statement that "the term cryptocurrency is abused and confusing in mainstream". Ok. Next then I did some googling just to check any reference related to the word "cryptocurrency" and to my no surprise cryptocurrency word was never used any time before early 2017 and that was the time of shitcoins .



Only one reference I found of "cryptocurrency" related to or near to Bitcoin is on the official website bitcoin.org in FAQ section of "Who created Bitcoin?". It was mention in a reference to Wei Dai as "Bitcoin is the first implementation of a concept called "cryptocurrency", which was first described in 1998 by Wei Dai"



And that forced to me to check first reference of Sathoshi's white paper related "W. Dai". But unfortunately that also not anyway close to the term what we know today as "cryptocurrency".

In conclusion I'm convinced and I agree I did broaden the concept beyond bitcoin when I mentioned "cryptocurrency" so will try to rephrase one more time

It's one of the reasons I believe and want to believe in BTC. I can't see myself competing with 25 year old software developers when I'm 70.

When I was a software developer, it didn't take me too long to look around at all my colleagues and think "Why are no other software developers here over the age of 35-ish? Hmm..."

And when I saw the few developers that eventually got promoted to management positions that were in the 40's and 50's, I said "Oh shit, I don't want to become one of those clowns either." (even though I eventually became a Sr. Director for a while...)

I used to tell people that work for corporations to just look around at their colleagues, if you don't see people still there that are in their 50-60's, it means you're not going to be there for very long either...certainly not more than 10-15 years. The company is ageist and lets go of forces out expensive older workers.

I like a bit of country but accept we probably wouldn't have gotten this view if that was the only thing.

TSwift? I hear she started out reasonably country but, like Shania Twain, it was just a stepping stone to mainstream pop.

Perhaps, ironically, Miley Cyrus's recent country efforts are reckoned to be pretty respectable.

Personally, I don't care for country but I do think its sad that it has been chewed up by the machine.

Over here in the UK the same two imbecile childish presenters have won best presenter for the last 20 years in the TV awards.

Commies? Think China, mostly, with c-suits at Walmart, etc HAPPY to get all the goods from.
How did it happen? By 'it' I mean who is responsible for the de-industrialization?
How come they didn't care to help commies to build up their country which was done, as it is clear now, at OUR expense.

Apart from this distraction, I think that bitcoin cycles are already largely diminished, therefore the price dynamics will follow a random trajectory with a trend up, but we are not going to get an average of 200% per year anymore (maybe 50-100%).
