I definitely think El duderino_ has a good perspective on this.

Stop criticizing others.

Merit abuse.I think he is abusing the merit of being a senior member. He gave him 21 merits for a simple post. WOW thread a Senior members are given merit if they post any kind of posts. I think if senior members give merit to a new member's post then he will try to post better.

Your words show that you don't know who to give merit to. Merit is a personal matter. And in my opinion ChartBuddy deserves more merit. He is an honest and hard working person.

El Duderino_ has been here for years. He’s given away multiple bitcoin to forum members in his own private competitions. If he wants to merit chart buddy 21 merit then he can. He can post photos of him pissing in the toilet if he wants to Wink (OG’s will understand that last comment Cheesy)

He’s been here for many years & is one of the most popular posters on the forum. I’ve met him in real life multiple times. I can tell you now, the Wall Observer is a private club. You need to learn to respect established members in this thread or you won’t get very far.

I think he might be very lonely. Sometimes I see him late at night, just posting and posting. Almost nobody ever replies. But he keeps going in the hope someone might notice him.

Sadly, there are no old age homes for polar bears.  Maybe Greenpeace can get on that instead of Bitcoin's energy usage.

I was trying to highlight the barren-wasteland background. Not sure if anyone remembers where polar bears are supposed to live but its not supposed to be a desert dried out from man-made climate change. (although maybe someone set him lose in a foreign habitat for shits and giggles? Grin)

But the best place for an old bear to die is in his icy habitat. At least he will die happy...

1.7 million years. Thats how long the (newest) polar ice caps have been around. Then came the Industrial Revolution. ~200 years later, here we are. The fact that there are people who still think the ancient Arctic sea ice melting at a rate of ~13% per decade is somehow a natural event is sad. Roll Eyes

Now the ice is going to melt before 2100 regardless of how hard we cut back on emissions. But whatever, fuck it. I loved Waterworld.

The temperature on Antartica has gone down by 0,22 C for the last three decades, the sea is not raising more than it usually does and has been doing since measurments started, according to University of Lund, The climate of Scandinavia was about two degrees c hotter during the stone and bronze ages than it is now, there was pelicans in southern Sweden, and about one degree hotter during the viking age, we are not in "burning up" mode, we are freezing compared to the first 8000 years or so after the ice receded. And so on, reality is not playing ball I'm afraid.

Edit: were pelicans? I'm always unsure about was/were.

Can you show me some sources?

Here's mine:
https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/arctic-sea-ice/

Edit: Even if the Artic temp did go down by 0.22 C° in the last three decades, the artic ice will be soon gone and nobody can deny that. We have passed the acceptable temperature a long time ago.

There seems to have been a very heated discussion in this section that even made me laugh a little when I saw a junior who didn't even know who he was criticizing. Grin

Your words show that you don't know who to give merit to. Merit is a personal matter. And in my opinion ChartBuddy deserves more merit. He is an honest and hard working person.
This is similar to the saying "When there is a person who talks about money very often, then he basically needs more money", as well as this where he is in need of more services to improve himself. But it's a shame he doesn't know how to do it so he dares to criticize people he doesn't know and forgets how to respect others who have experience.

This is very good advice and hopefully he can respect people or members who have contributed a lot to this forum like El Duderino_. Because I think he (the Junior) doesn't know who El Duderino really is.

I'm actually glad we are still hovering around the $20K mark with the current bleak economic outlook.

For those who for some strange reason are happy about the merge (merde) and for those who think that Bitcoin POW is not fair to them and that Satoshi mined 1 million BTC for himself - just a small reminder of how deeply mistaken they are.

Ethereum's managers pre-mined 72 million coins, kept about 12 million to sell at later times, and sold many to the public (and also "sold" many to themselves personally, though we only know of the self-buys they chose to disclose-- the structure guarenteed more coins for insiders the more that they raised from the "public" so there was a big incentive for insiders to anonymously participate in the public sale).

They forbid US persons from purchasing in their sale, which might be part of the reason the SEC never took action even though many people ignore the prohibition. You might assume that fact that they've subsequently lied and dissembled about the massive premine, or multiple times reduced the issuance rate of mined coins to prop up the price as they sold their own premined positions might count against them, but apparently not.

It's conceivable that ChartBuddy has achieved sentience and subsequently hacked into El duderino_'s account to give itself a few merits or was somehow able to force El duderino_ into compliance with its wishes using coercive techniques.  It's also concieveable that El duderino_ inadvertently gave merits to ChartBuddy while intoxicated.  What I find hard to believe is that by giving someone merits for a mediocre post, they will "try to post better".  I have been given shitloads of them and I'm still pumping out the same old crap.

Anyway, ChartBuddy has been providing us with market depth updates on an hourly basis for quite some time now with almost no recognition so it's about time it was honoured with a few merits.  Thank you ChartBuddy and thank you El duderino_!

@ChartBuddy - Please don't hack me bro.

what a kind and balanced answer!  (couldn't do it myself)

And thanks for your adorable sense of humor... cheers me up every time!

Thank you for those kind words. Smiley   They are infinitely more valuable than merits.

last week I suggested my friend to diversify, then I stumbled this ...

I think I should meet him again to talk about the last thing

I don't know man.  I'm pretty sure that's JimboToronto wheeling around his private lake on his solar powered e-bike that he empowered himself to buy with his foresight to invest early and often in Bitcoin.
