....
And why compare BTC wallets to a fiat banks anyways...
....
Because I keep my assets in both. And so far, they have both served me well with no issues. Though my bank for a lot longer. Like probably most legends on this thread.
Don't get me wrong. Most big banks piss me off. The one I have dealt with most of my life, however, (a credit union) has never screwed me,
never questioned my bitcoin transactions and saved my neck more than once, but again, that's just me.
Sure, I also use both for keeping and transferring assets.
But banks and personal HW wallets are two very different animals. Explaining away the shortcomings of a certain wallet with a bank's security model just doesn't make much sense.
....
..... as there are so many good HW wallets out there.
Ok fine. such as?.. I'm all ears (I notice that green thingy avatar of yours has none, but whatever)
Like that bunny bro. He/she bitches and moans about how everything is fucked up politically to no end, in a country (s)he doesn't even reside in, no less,
but yet never offers an alternative plausible solution.
So don't mind me.... I'm drinking tonight. I might get a little wordy and boisterous...... as I do...
No problem, you are welcome to be boisterous anytime
True, I'm bitching about a company that sells closed source devices you need to trust, while having such a bad in-house security that it endangers thousands of their customers by exposing their private data to anyone with a 5$ wrench.
Usually I don't like giving recommendations for hardware wallets to non-noobs, because everyone has different needs and expectations (as we can recognize by our conversation).
But one thing is for sure: BTC is of the philosophy
open source & don't trust, verifySo I would say go with an open source devices with verifiable security.
Btw, there are also open source secure elements being developed (Trezor is working on one), but it's def. not in a Ledger.
Here is a list of some of the main wallets and their properties:
