Happy Genesis Block Day

A genesis block is the first block of a cryptocurrency blockchain.

On Jan. 3, 2009, an anonymous developer or group calling themselves Satoshi Nakamoto made history when they released the Genesis Block, the original block containing the first 50 bitcoins, onto Sourceforge. Unlike any of the hundreds of thousands of blocks that came after, Nakamoto left a message in the code of the block: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on the brink of second bailout for banks."

That line comes straight from the headline of a London Times article dated Jan. 3, 2009, which detailed banks being bailed out by the British government.

X

The Genesis Block, also known as Block 0, is the ancestor to which every other Bitcoin block can trace its lineage since every block traces back to a past one.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

IAW
I dont like using the ignore button, but as they say, never say never.

LOL. It gets addicting once you start using that ignore button. Before long this place almost starts seeming normal.

It’s nice to see Bitcoin advancing. There really aren’t too many resistance levels between here and the all time high. Things could become interesting quick. I’m very curious how next week is going to go.

I am finding it hard to not throw the last of my available cash into buying more BTC, awaiting a pullback that just never seems enough to buy into.
Next week should be a clanger, whether a marathon to the moon or a deflation of the current eurphoria.

Happy Genesis Block Day

A genesis block is the first block of a cryptocurrency blockchain.

Happy Bitcoin Day.

At exactly 2:10 pm Eastern Standard time on 31 October 2008, the mysterious and pseudonymous “Satoshi Nakamoto” submitted their Bitcoin whitepaper to the Cryptography Mailing List of metzdowd.com, a messaging service popular with cypherpunks at the time. Satoshi used the title “Bitcoin P2P e-cash paper” to describe the concept.

(Cypherpunks were early cryptography pioneers and activists who believed that using encryption for privacy could make the world better).

Mere months later, on 3 January 2009, the Bitcoin network came to life, when Satoshi “mined” the first block, also known as the genesis block.

ChartBuddy's 24 hour Wall Observation recap.  (A little hiccup, on Bitstamp's end no doubt, around 20:00 UTC)
..

I like your posts very much. Many hours of images can be viewed together, which is definitely a good thing for me.
Thank you.  I'm glad you find the ChartBuddy recap useful.   Smiley

You were flying to Sarajevo, and you the plane just landed a few minutes ago.
Right?  Grin
if this is correct, i will start believing in magic.
I would pick Luxembourg or Copenhagen feeling lucky since yesterday.

Magic?
It's dark outside the gates on the photo, i happen to know how to read maps and that Gate 04 is opposite/next to Gate 03. Following the date of post, extracted from the image hoster url, i can only find one flight on this day after sunset boarding from Gate 04, and this was the one announced 20 or 30 mintues from the time of the post.
I'm pretty sure, at least as far as the evidences were telling me...

Very nice!  I had to start by looking for airport terminals with a G gate which was underlined in orange and that took a while.  I was lucky to have spotted an image with a G underlined in orange which also had a sign with the word "ausgang" near it so I narrowed it down quite a bit with that.  I believe you are correct and vroom flew to Sarajevo.

I had some slight advantage, i admit, because i have seen this airport from inside quite often and recognized that WiFi sign in the quote from AlcoHODL, where he already correctly identified the airport. A quick google search for the map of VIE to confirm that Gate G04 is opposite to G03. After spotting the post datetime and photo upload date, it was an easy find in the flight listing app of the airport. It would have been harder if vrooom had posted on the next day, though.

EDIT: And it's a good place to hang out, with the "Wiener Bierbar" (Vienna Beer Bar) next to the left  Grin

15 years ago, a revolution to free the world from the bonds of fiat currency began!

Thank you to everyone who helped push that agenda forward, and especially to Satoshi Nakamoto who selflessly spawned this beacon of hope that Bitcoin is for millions of people around the world.
