I miss the WO from 10 years ago

We cannot go back in time.

We live in a fucked up world in a variety of ways.

Sure the world was fucked up 10 years ago, but the level of fucked-upped-ness seems a bit beyond expectations.

And yeah.. .. we cannot go back.

I miss the WO from 10 years ago
I’m eating a baguette, reading this BS today and thought exactly the same.

What happened to this thread, man.
Don't worry, it's a cycle. It'll pass.

Let us pray.

The WO is in a bear market for over 8 years now

8 years.  I don't think so. We have done pretty good over the past 8-ish years, 2 whether we look at bitcoin's spot price, 200-WMA and/or even various aspects of adoption - even though our most recent supposed embracing of bitcoin by governments, institutions (even some financial ones) and aspects of the status quo rich seems to be a pretty BIG ASS co-optation attack.. and what else is new by governments, institutions and the status quo rich?..

It is not like they are incentivized to make life better for the population, as a whole, even if they speak as if that is what they are striving to carry out - and sure, perhaps it is not completely the faults of the incumbents that the whole monetary system and the allowance of individuals to socialize, communicate and/or transact with freedom is screwed up.. even though the end result is seeming to be the normal playbook of privatizing the gains and socializing the losses... so when they are fucking things up, who is benefiting and who is  paying?  How do we mitigate our own losses as individual normies? to the extent that we might still have a few individual normies participating in these here parts?

As things stand after the US finishes its "job" in Iran, conquers Cuba and Greenland, maybe the demon hunt will begin. Honestly, nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the current US administration, but they always surprise me again.

DHA (demon hunting agency) coming to your city soon, and I guess it's better they to hunt demons than people, right?

Asked by podcaster Benny Johnson about releasing so-called UFO files, the vice president veered into his belief that rather than visitors from another planet it is supernatural forces at play. "I don't think they're aliens, I think they're demons," Vance said in a March 27 episode.

Yeah well for decades I was sad my kids died via miscarriages. I questioned this a lot.

Seeing the world now my kids would have been 28 , 26, 25.  I WOULD BE WORRIED quite a bit about their futures.

Now no need to worry. PLUS I got to have 41 years with my wife. 1 year of dating and 40 years of marriage.

Really big win for us. THE 41 years together.

Trump is a true agent of chaos. It is a 75% chance he voids the fall elections when he and maga are crushed in them.

I see martial law coming up.

But back to BTC it is sliding along in the 65-75 slot  when we leave this slot do we do it on the downside or the up side, place your guess.

Up, Phil   BTW - How's your B-I-L's hip coming along?
.

My friend in lakewood has the broken hip. I just was at his house today. He has no pain and can walk with a walker. So he may be back into action say May 1 or so.

MY Bro-In-law is still demented.

But with various tests done they found he also has epilepsy.  They give him zonisamide for that.  It has done wonders for him at nite he stopped pacing the floors in his house at nite and he sleeps.

He likely has had insomnia from the epilepsy for a decade.

Lack of sleep made his dementia seem pretty bad. Now that he sleeps he has dementia but say a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 not a 7.

For health for them both is better.

My health is still fairly good just controlled diabetes.
My wife is working on the lung damage that covid gave her in 2020 there is small improvement which is good.

Got it! Thanks for the update. I incorrectly thought your friend with the broken hip was also your B-I-L. Wishing both well. You're a good man to check on your friend...

Getting older has its drawbacks! I had a routine cardio SPECT Nuclear Stress test myself last week and got the results today - glad to report it was good with a normal LV EF percentage.

Trump may have his win

Stock market today: Dow soars 1,000 points, S&P 500 and Nasdaq surge in upbeat end to brutal quarter

US stocks surged on Tuesday after the Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, signaled that the regime may be willing to negotiate toward an end to the war that has ravaged the global energy market.

Stocks were already in the green earlier in the session after President Trump reportedly told administration officials that he would be willing to end the war in Iran without a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and said that the war won't last "much longer."

maybe he pulled it off

I'm not sure. I think WO spam cycle theory might be on the way out.
Me too...

You'll be back.

 Tongue Tongue Tongue

You better!!!!

Why is the S&P 500 falling (currently down about 10% from ATH) while Bitcoin is not falling but trading in the $60k - $75k range?
War→Oil↑  → Inflation↑ → Interest rate still high → Stocks↓→ Bitcoin ↓↓↑

It's falling. Just looking more resilient since it recovers faster.

You seem to be saying that bitcoin might have had front loaded the crash?  But there still may be more crash, so the front-loading the crash theory only works if there ends up being recovery from here.. and the various status quo state actors seemed to have had created a quagmire that is not easy to get out of, even if everyone were to agree to cease firing (which seems doubtful with the given level of hubris in the talking points of some powerful fingers who think that they can bully their lil selfies through the mess that they had instigated."

 Angry Angry Angry Angry

In udder wurds, don't be pussying out on "us" (royal, perhaps?).  There are a lot of fucktwats chiming into this thread and otherwise fucking up aspects of the world out of control motivations and/or incompetency motivations, and it can be difficult to know the extent to which those chiming in on a thread like this are PsyOps who are distracting/derailing on purpose or if some of them might just be a wee bit retarded.

There seems to be a pretty high level of desperation coming from governments, institutions and status quo rich, whether we are thinking about our (likely naturally god-given) freedoms to communicate with other human beings and/or our abilities to transact value without being controlled and/or monitored and/or overly burdened.

that is your biggest strength as you are not delusion and realize the lack of importance of winning the argument when 100 years or more from now have passed.
If we all think this way then how nice it will be for all us to work or sit together. For some people winning an argument is like winning a battle.

Yeah, but there are various personalities in the world, and it would be difficult to agree upon a certain way of interacting, whether you proclaim such ways of interacting to be "more civil" or not.

Why is the S&P 500 falling (currently down about 10% from ATH) while Bitcoin is not falling but trading in the $60k - $75k range?

For "reasons."

In other words, I have no fucking clue - except maybe there could be some tinges of decoupling and/or lack of correlation that is going on that seems to be within bitcoin's intrinsic characteristics to not be correlated with various traditional assets and/or commodities and/or financial instruments.

Bullish news doesn’t tend to do much in a bear market but this is good 👇

https://x.com/thebitcoinconf/status/2038630853228593331
Bullish news has no power in a bear market and sometimes it seems quite odd to me just how sentimental people are. Only extreme examples would work.

So nothing short of the USA announcing they are buying 1M Bitcoin for their reserve... by next friday will not work in this market.  Grin Grin
War→Oil↑  → Inflation↑ → Interest rate still high → Stocks↓→ Bitcoin ↓↓↑
It's falling. Just looking more resilient since it recovers faster.
And what is common for this type of market is that even when war stops, prices don't go back up as they were before the war.  Grin

I am tentatively thinking that one of the ONLY negotiated solutions would be to give up Trump or some other high level (ranking) figure over to the Iranians, and then they might possibly perhaps be willing to concede to allowing things to somewhat go back to where they were prior to the attacks - even though the level of damage to their people and infrastructure seems quite high.... even though we are ONLY slightly more than a month into such crazy developments.

[edited out]
Still, Morgan Stanley news is very significant.
When such heavy-hitters launch something like this, they expect a relatively lengthy uptrend.
Granted, we don't know at which btc price they would launch at, but from that point on it would likely to be mostly up (with a up to -10% initial reaction possible).
Personally, I am changing at least some some of my IBIT and FBTC in ret accounts to MSBT.

I get the sense that some of these BIGGER players don't really give too many shits about  which way the price goes since they make a lot of money from both volume and the inclusion of more clients into their various products, and they may well not even give too many shits if the asset (bitcoin in this case) is rehypothecated, even though many of us realize that the value (and power) of bitcoin come from the ability to hold and/or transfer the actual product, rather than paper derivatives of it.

Yes, it is good!  Cheesy

The new Morgan Stanley Bitcoin ETF (MSBT) news is actually heating up. Lot's of chatter about it. Analysts are calling it a "Vampire Attack" on BlackRock (IBIT). Morgan Stanley is pumped about it, in anticipation of MSBT’s April debut.

~~~~~~~
Morgan Stanley is about to put bitcoin in front of 16,000 financial advisors managing $6.2 trillion.
The firm just filed an amended S-1 with the SEC for a spot Bitcoin ETF called the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust, ticker MSBT. The fee is 0.14%, making it the cheapest Bitcoin ETF ever proposed in the US. That undercuts Grayscale's Mini Trust by a basis point and BlackRock's IBIT by 11.
The pricing is deliberate. At 0.14%, no advisor in their network can argue the fee is too high to recommend. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas put it bluntly: "They are the ultimate gatekeepers of rich boomer money."
This is also the first time a traditional bank has filed for a spot Bitcoin ETF. BlackRock and Fidelity are asset managers. Morgan Stanley is a bank. That's a different level of institutional commitment. They've tapped Coinbase and Bank of New York Mellon as custodians, applied for a national trust banking charter to custody digital assets directly, and filed separately for a staked Ether ETF and a Solana ETF.
None of this came out of nowhere. Last October, Morgan Stanley started recommending a 2 to 4 percent crypto allocation for clients and opened bitcoin fund access inside IRAs and 401(k)s. The ETF is just the next logical step.
Wall Street isn't debating bitcoin anymore. They're fighting over who gets to sell it.
What such heavy-hitters launch something like this, they expect a relatively lengthy uptrend.
This got me thinking, I don't think a Bitcoin reserve has a chance until almost all the heavy-hitters are in position. Only then it may have some chance of becoming a thing because they will massively profit from this happening. What do you think?
The gov. twats have no interest in any bitcoin reserve, except for confiscating coins creating impressions of sound money, and would they even engage in "proof of reserves"?  Some of their core specialties (or is it "competencies"?) revolve around obfuscation, spin and bullying.
I recently heard the U.S. Military is about to unleash two different versions of the specialized 'Discombobulator' weapon on Iran's military when our Marines invade the country to take control of the Kharg island oil terminal, open the Strait of Hormuz and ultimately seize the enriched Uranium.
One version of the 'Discombobulator' weapon was used in Venezuela that makes victims immediately bleed from the nose and vomit from intense sound waves. The other version produces intense heat waves from a system that emits a 95 GHz beam that penetrates the skin, heating the water molecules in the epidermis almost instantly, causing a feeling of being on fire. The human nervous system cannot handle the results of either version...
Unfortunately, I think it's inevitable; we'll have some U.S. casualties in this risky operation.
Holy shit. what a mess that sounds to be getting increasingly stupid.
I thought that recently there had been some discussion of the ideas contained in the below linked article:
Wall Street could seize your retirement savings in the next financial crash — and it's perfectly legal
And, fuck the Clarity act.  Whatever parts of it that I have seen have not been materially helpful to actual self-custody of bitcoin or the abilities to unencumberantly (if that might be a great made-up word?) transact with it.
