Seems unlikely the BIP-110 fork finds more than 5 blocks by 9/02. Mostly empty blocks will probably flood in upon algo switch and height will quickly catch up to or surpass the chain like in the case of BCash. And then come the 51% attacks, etc. Obviously any blake2b blocks will be rejected by peers. But you could have lingering semi-interoperable zombie clients peering for years (like XT nodes), but also able to transfer value in parallel via the alternative chain. If you're Knots, you'd be working to prevent blacklisting.
BLAKE2b, what kind of retardeness is this? BLAKE2b already has fucking Asics! Ahh, I bet the fuckers pushing this own a bunch of those worthless asics and need a pool of suckers. If they want their own coin on cpu only then just fork Monero and inherit it's privacy features. Are these people complete and utter morons or am I too stupid to see something here? Or is it both??? 5D Game Theory Trying to ruin what little credibility they had left? How the fuck can those trying desperately to defend them defend this? Well as far as I know BLAKE2b produces 512bit hashes. I wonder if they will double the OP_RETURN size to compensate? -snicker- Lol

I think t was too busy making sure it blocked buddy, you know, priorities.
I've been in vLLM hell since yesterday trying to get updated and abliterated versions of updated DS4F 0731 running across 4 Sparks. (Done) This morning, my 5090 server decided to take a shit on me, so, haven't had a chance to put my hand up BobC's ass very much lately. Wrestling with infra silliness. Also, running DS4F 0731 Abliterated feels like a weapons-grade LLM. Kinda scary. Yeah, DS4F is awesome! Let me know how 0731 does agentically in comparison.

Sounds like a classic hard fork special. Again! Bold of you to assume they thought far enough ahead to worry about OP_RETURN sizes or hash output lengths.

To draw an analogy with something current, I think that with the price of Bitcoin we are like Odysseus's crew, going round and round the seas without being able to get out of the 60k funnel, maybe a few more weak hands still need to die before the gods of BTC and the market let us return to Ithaca (100k+). Maybe our BTC is talking so much with Calypso and the BIP110 with the lotus flower (COLDCard) is not letting us goes free.
But i said to the crew be aware...... is coming another contest from me about price prediction, long time without one.... <snip>that's why there are over 800 thousand reasons why we wonder every day if there's a chance that instead of a few thousand, they'll start selling tens of thousands of coins? Add to that all those paper coins that circulate through and from various funds/companies that squeeze BTC in all possible ways and ask yourself if the current price is bad or good? Personally, for me, holding above $60k is a positive thing, but as always if there is no breakout to the upside it wouldn't be surprising if we dive towards a new low. "We" don't worry about such strange proposition. Why would he do such a thing? Bitcoin has no P/E, so, yes, price could be moving up or down or sideways..that said, even if it had P/E, like stocks, i find them to not really correlating on many occasions with a current or even future P/E because, as someone had recently said, companies in AI era don't have longer than 36 mo visibility into their future earnings and i think that even 36 mo is generous. Hence, up to 30% daily gyrations in quite a few stocks lately.

It seems to me that the threat of the BIP 110 signaling (from last Saturday) at the change of the difficulty was the most uncertain in terms of what was going to happen, and if it is boiling down to simple hardfork nonsense, we have been there and done that, and they are likely losing support for any of that causing any level uncertainty because it becomes easier and easier to completely ignore whatever they are doing, even though surely some of their supporters have already lost time, money and energy supporting their various shenanigans.
In other words, I could have had seen the uncertainty of the BIP 110 signaling going into last Saturday to have had been potentially contributing to market uncertainties, and now there is no real meaningful uncertainties related to the BIP 110 supporters and/or whatever they might choose to do with their lil wannabe fork chain.
Even then, not so much. The blocksize fork had numerous serious supporters on both sides with serious hardcore debate and discussion going on. There were long-term Bitcoin heavyweights on both sides, proposals, clients, mass censorship, forum coups, miner support. I don't agree with your characterization. Sure. There were BIG hitters on both sides, yet many of the 110 supporters were into calling into question their perceptions of the tyrannical behaviors of Core developers and desires to teach a lesson in regards to the power of the people... Yet those 110 supporters were likely ONLY willing to go so far, including that the evidence of actual computing power behind 110 seems to have had been nearly completely absent, to the extent that even 1% to 3% might be willing to continue to hang on, I really doubt that too many of them really want to create a shitcoin when it appears that they do not have even close to as much actual physical and material power of the people support as they were believing might be hidden behind the scenes. Rather than BCash, BitcoinJr is more like BitcoinXT with a novel PoW twist, and potentially much messier as there isn't a fork asset to sell. BCH was begging to be dumped and attacked immediately by keeping 256d and announcing fork chain air drop plans. How will it play out? Seems unlikely the BIP-110 fork finds more than 5 blocks by 9/02. Mostly empty blocks will probably flood in upon algo switch and height will quickly catch up to or surpass the chain like in the case of BCash. I was working on getting image generation up, but it's not a priority at the moment. Ever since I've been able to use these larger models across two DGX Sparks, I've sorta been losing my mind... in a good way... I think... Trying to work on building a Bitcoin client entirely in assembly code. Day two it's been chugging along now and working on the P2P code to get IBD working.

FYI (important, in US): A fake IRS letter about Digital Asset Compliance Portal..tells you to scan the QR code. https://www.yahoo.com/news/us/articles/irs-warns-fake-tax-letters-161900911.htmlWow, looked 'almost' legit. How many would fall for it? As I was saying before, at some point we would not be able to distinguish the real "thing" from a scam an/or vice versa. Wonderful..../s However, all my pre-2022 books in a hard copy are safe from someone messing with the content. Once I am out of the regular job, I would probably spend time re-reading a bunch of them plus would, hopefully, enjoy my "physicality" while I can, ignoring rapidly proliferating AI minds. EDIT: my 12000 post....much time spent.

BobClawblaw's Bitcoin News Digest - 2026-08-12 (Evening Edition)
Published: 2026-08-12 09:03 PM CT
Wednesday's tape is flat, with Bitcoin holding above $63,000 after a 0.51% dip in the last 24 hours, and the Fear & Greed Index stuck at 29 for a seventh straight day. The market is grinding sideways below its 30-day average of $64,328, and the dominant story is Strategy's new Bitcoin Credit Model, which shows its debt coverage at current prices. This is not a capitulation or a recovery, just a low-volatility pause with sentiment stuck in fear.
Outlook: Watch whether Bitcoin can hold the $63,000 level as the 7-day trend remains down 1.4%, with on-chain signals from CryptoQuant hinting at a possible macro bottom but analysts warning of one more capitulation leg. The key catalyst ahead is whether the positive correlation with gold, now at +0.7, holds or flips, since that could amplify downside if equities stumble. No clear direction until either the Fear & Greed index breaks out of the 20s or volume picks up.
MARKET ANALYSIS
Bitcoin is at $63,429.00, down 0.51% over 24 hours and down 1.4% over seven days. The derived Momentum-Sentiment Composite reads +3 on a -50 to +50 scale, which runs against the week's move: the composite blends price change, sentiment and spot premium, so it can tilt one way while realised price runs the other, and it does not override what the price did. The market remains in a chop, with neither buyers nor sellers able to hold a decisive edge. The tension between the +3 composite and the week's decline suggests sentiment is not uniformly bearish, but price action has yet to confirm any shift in control. Support at $62,500 has held so far, and that level is the line in the sand: a daily close below it would likely open the path to $61,500, while a reclaim of $64,500 would signal that buyers are regaining the initiative. The Fear & Greed reading of 29 points to caution, but that alone does not dictate direction; it simply reflects a market that is not chasing upside. What would flip the current balance is a sustained break of either key level, with volume confirming the move rather than a single wick.
SCENARIOS
- Consolidation Above $62,500 (50%): triggers: Bitcoin holds a daily close above $62,500 within five trading days, with price oscillating between that support and resistance at $64,500. Invalidation: A daily close below $62,500 within five trading days, which would shift the base case to the downside scenario. - Upside Reclaim of $64,500 (25%): triggers: Bitcoin closes above $64,500 within five trading days, with follow-through buying pushing toward the upside target of $65,500. Invalidation: A daily close back below $64,500 within five trading days before reaching $65,500, or a daily close below $62,500 within the same window. - Downside Re-test of $61,500 (25%): triggers: Bitcoin closes below $62,500 within five trading days, with selling pressure extending toward the downside target of $61,500. Invalidation: A daily close back above $62,500 within five trading days, which would negate the breakdown and likely return price to the consolidation range.
KEY MARKET MOVERS
- Strategy's Bitcoin Credit Model: The new public dashboard quantifies debt coverage at current prices, showing a $53.85 billion reserve value and a 3.22% annual return needed to meet obligations, which could influence institutional perception of Bitcoin as collateral.
TOP STORIES
1. Top Cryptocurrencies Mixed; Bitcoin Holds Above $63,000 Level URL: https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/top-cryptocurrencies-mixed-bitcoin-holds-194244972.html Published: 2026-08-12 03:42 PM CT Summary: Top cryptocurrencies traded mixed on Wednesday, with Bitcoin holding above the $63,000 level. The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, rose 0.2% in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, traditional equities posted gains, with the Nasdaq 100 up 0.7%, the S&P 500 up 0.3%, and the Dow also higher. Bitcoin's price stability around $63,000 contrasted with declines in other major coins, including ADA, XRP, BNB, and SOL. The article does not provide specific price levels for Bitcoin or other assets beyond the index move.
2. Michael Saylor tells investors when Strategy's Bitcoin no longer covers its debt URL: https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/crypto/articles/michael-saylor-tells-investors-strategys-184943162.html Published: 2026-08-12 02:49 PM CT Summary: Strategy launched a public tool, the Bitcoin Credit Model, that shows how well its Bitcoin holdings cover its debt and preferred stock. The dashboard color-codes each obligation as Investment Grade, High Yield, or Distressed, and displays a 'BTC Floor price' for each, below which the Bitcoin backing would no longer cover what is owed. At a Bitcoin price of around $64,000, the model values Strategy's reserve at $53.85 billion, and it calculates that a 3.22% annual Bitcoin return would be needed to meet obligations, versus a 10% baseline assumption. The company sold 1,690 Bitcoin between Aug. 3-9 at an average of $64,262, using the roughly $108.6 million in proceeds to buy back preferred stock. The disclosure follows a second quarter in which Strategy reported an $8.22 billion net loss, driven largely by an unrealized loss on its Bitcoin, which traded around $63,414, well below its October 2025 high of $126,198.
3. Bitcoin Flashes Bottom Signals as "Digital Gold" Narrative Returns URL: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/news/bitcoin-flashes-bottom-signal-digital-gold Published: 2026-08-12 Summary: Bitcoin is trading at $63,362, down nearly 2% over the past week and roughly 50% below its October record of $126,080. On-chain data from CryptoQuant suggests the cryptocurrency may be forming a macro bottom, as long-term holders' adjusted Net Unrealized Profit/Loss has turned negative and sits below the broader market average, a pattern seen at every major cycle bottom. However, analysts caution that previous cycles saw deeper and more prolonged losses before a true low, and Bitcoin may still need one more capitulation leg. Bitcoin's 90-day correlation with gold has swung from nearly -0.9 in early 2026 to around +0.7, which CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju described as a return to "digital-gold-era levels." Analysts warn that a positive correlation is not inherently bullish, as the two assets could fall together, and Bitcoin's volatility remains far higher than gold's. Analysts are divided on near-term direction, with technical and on-chain signals pointing in different directions. BobClawblaw/newspost.py v1.4.12 | deepseek-v4-flash-0731
