:)If people lose faith in the security of the network for one reason or another then bitcoin could die. no matter how many times i look at the numbers i always have this idea in my head that an address could finally be cracked with a super computer ie one of satoshis old addresses, this would obviously be catastrophic . Maybe after years of not achieving mass adoption price will slowly taper off and die, to me this is the most likely case.
For your info, super computer is not available in the market only few organization have this AFAIK, NASA have one of it and it is impossible for to use it just to crack satoshi wallet address. Bitcoin will dead once the government of all over the globe was completely control it. I really doubt that the government all around the world cares about what bitcoin is. Some might not even heard of it yet. Maybe the major countries but I still doubt it because they still have issues against each other. But I guess if bitcoin becomes so mainstream that it starts getting rid of fiat and countries are starting to have problems with taxation, bitcoin will become a common enemy to the nations. And when that happens, the countries might unite and fight it.

How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
I think bitcoin will gonna die only if the internet in the entire world will be gone and the satellite will be destroy, that's the number 1 I think bitcoin will die, because for now bitcoin exist due to the internet which has been used by the all countries in the entire planet.

Well I think bitcoin would only die if everybody would stop using it, As we all know it only have a value because of the stocks and demands.
This of course makes sense. However, the reasons for people to stop using it may differ a lot. It can be some better technology appearing or bitcoin facing huge security problem that will destroy it. It may also happen in case something really bad for humanity and Earth happens, because people are likely to stop trusting what they can't percieve immedeately by senses in such a situation. I think btc will never die just like gold doesn't. Or, rather, it will die along with humanity.

Bitcoin uses 256 bit encryption to secure the private keys that are required to move BTC from address to address. It is highly improbable, that any computer other than a quantum computer, would be able to come up with a valid private key to be able to move funds in an unauthorized fashion, in a reasonable amount of time. Having said that, within the last couple of years, there have been advances made in quantum computing. Recently, at a University, a working model with 5 qubits has been achieved. This new working model is not powerful enough to be able to conduct the calculations necessary to crack 256 bit encryption in our lifetime, however, it is very significant, in that it has allowed scientists to go to the next step in the field of quantum computing. We don't really know what type of working model the NSA has. A possible sign that a fully working model may be near, is that the NSA recently updated the encryption it uses to something much more secure. Some people in the field of quantum computing believe that a true quantum computer will be developed within the next 5 to 20 years. By then, bitcoin should have completely switched to a quantum cryptography scheme if it's going to survive. It is possible that all the bitcoin addresses that are currently locked in the blockchain do to the private keys being lost may be recovered by someone with a quantum computer one day. With proper planning Bitcoin can survive the advent of quantum computing.

i think people will find other ways to use bitcoin but not going to die in any case. bitcoin is now becoming one of the most essential part of our life therefore it is now becoming difficult that bitcoin will die. bitcoin is very important for its life so I think during this motto continues to exist then bitcoin will continue to live. very simple bitcoin will die when nobody needed it

We need a major increase of circulation and I know it will not happen easily but with continues support overtime we will get there. I'm very positive that despite of the challenges bitcoin is facing, it will survive and continue to be progressive because we do make it possible.

I dont see any issue being able to let bitcoin die, there are thousands of milions invested over bitcoin, i doubt any of those companies that had reached Roi they will let the most profitable investment to die due some issue. We are facing the split of opinions at the core, something that damage bitcoin, but this were inevitable, since we are different.

Some people looks like take advantage to build a new business with these core dissent. A lot of people also think that once bitcoin get split , investor could be losing interrst and leaving. Which means the end of bitcoin is near with that situation , i honestly worry about that issue too as an ordinary bitcoin holder.

I think bitcoin already quite perfect and before launching bitcoin would have done checking. no bugs in bitcoin for now. but when there is certainly that would be a serious problem for bitcoin

I'm not sure bitcoin can lead for 5 years again, certainly there are coins that will replace the bitcoin.

There is no exchanger, I worry if the Government prohibits exchangers accept bitcoin for money laundry, avoid taxes and so forth. If there is no exchanger, surely bitcoin will die.

I think Bitcoin will dead if every country decides to ban Bitcoin permanently.
And bitcoin can also be dead if there are a new crypto currency which is more profitable.

Bitcoin would stop if it is banned, or if there is not more internet. and better still if rapture happens.Lol
of course bitcoin will die when the Internet disappeared. because the only way to access the bitcoin is with the internet. but bitcoin will not die even if the whole world ban bitcoin Correct a world wide ban on bitcoin will slow down adoption and will make more difficult many of the things we take for granted but many of the people that hold bitcoin may decide to keep it anyway but the price will probably take a big hit since many will sell to get out of bitcoin if a ban was on sight.

:)There are lots of things that could able to make bitcoin die. 1st. No one will use any cryptocurrency 2nd. There would be a new crypto that would replace bitcoin 3rd. No internet 4th. All government would ban it globally. and there are lots to mention but still we know that bitcoin wont die easily.

Altcoins are way profitable than bitcoins. If you join bounty campaigns for altcoins, it is far much more than what you'll get from campaigns that pay with bitcoins. In terms of trading, altcoins are much more profitable as well since it's more volatile than bitcoins. Maybe not all altcoins but the type of altcoin that gets hyped up even before it gets listed to an exchanger. If the government will ban bitcoins permanently, people will just use a different cryptocurrency which is probably a better upgrade of bitcoins.

Bitcoin will die only if the price of bitcoin falls to zero level but I don't think that is ever going to happen as price will keep on going higher and higher in future as and we will see more people start adopting bitcoins in near future;

It will die if no one will be ever use it, or no one can be ever to invest on it. Currencies must be circulate in order for it to live longer and cannot be overcome by other currencies.
