so basically we're just waiting for burnin to receive avalon chips and make the first board?

Yup.

And, well, german legal procedures for the company, although I think that one might be done already.

Great,
Other thing, imagine that there is no problem assembling the board. Someone still has to develop software for it? like drivers or something?

ok, if he needs help with the programing he can pm me. i dont use to program with low level languages, but i learnt few things in college

I have a question for burning or anyone who can answer me.... (one more  Undecided)

Could the OP show us some picutres of the prototypes? Something more real than a render of the "future rig" I trust in this person but I think if he upload some pictures for us woould be a great thing, more tangible thing...

Thanks¡¡

They do not exist yet.

They will be created from scratch by the end of this month, beginning next month first as renders, then as smaller prototype boards to test the chip communication first.

Once the designs allow for chip communication to occur and the prototypes basically work, THEN you create prototypes to put 10-20 chips on. That will be end of next month probably. You will likely then get your picture.

You see, if you get a picture before people have chips (Hello, BFL), then there is a lot of probability that this is not going to be a board you are using...

Correct, in the current stage i test the firmware builds on a evaluation board.
When I receive the demo chips I'll build real prototypes. (and show the pictures)
Hopefully this will not take until end of next month.

Great,
Other thing, imagine that there is no problem assembling the board. Someone still has to develop software for it? like drivers or something?

It’s my understanding that burnin will program the firmware to emulate a regular Avalon. From there you can use the usual suspects (cgminer or whatever) to mine.

100% Correct, and it seems to work good so far.
The precomputation should only take microseconds on my controller.

Hi burnin,

if having problems with the software maybe ask the guys from "Minepeon" Linus Distribution for Raspberry Pi for help - hey already managed to had ASIC implemented when they weren`t shipped. So I´m sure User "MineForeman.com" can help you with questions!

Has anyone a good idea / concept on a housing solution for burnin's boards yet? Perhaps even 19" rack mountable?

As the "bitburner" is stackable like this: https://i.imgur.com/w9ENcQL.jpg

you could order a server rack housing with plates and just fill it up. I am also thinking about this for hosting my hardware - I also prefer the way that there are plates with rails & sliders, so you can just get nearly everywhere without opening the sides or back. If a module fails and must be changed you than have smaller stacks & get fast to the module without "disturbing" others. Easy and already available ...think I will get that way!

You're confusing the distro developer and the cgminer developer.

Anybody in California (LA area possibly, although newspaper has a mailing label on it) that can go put eyes-on the broken Avalon listed on eBay?  Could probably get a collection together between the board devs and buy it... should be 240 chips available.  Thread on it in custom hardware...

Burnin

I'm glad to hear this project is coming along excellently, impressive work!

One vague question if you don't mind it, not urgent: how much noise might this type of (20 chip) unit make when it is running constantly at room temperature?

All the best

@Burnin
Can You provide me somme more information (specyfic) of demensions of pcb and where are mounting holes located?
Somme kind of blueprint would be nice.
I`m planning to watercool it, but with professional kind of FULLCOVER for the chips/whole pcb if needed.
My friend makes full covers for motherboards and practicly he can make anything on CNC.
I`m planning to made it from copper plate with plexi core and top. but all depands.
If i can get a blueprint of dimensions and where mounting holes located are, then i could bring a blueprint of full cover for bitburrner.
I`m talking about bitburrner XX (20chips).

Full cover cooling from the Top side of the board is not recommended.
The bottom side is mostly flat apart from the "keep out area" where the through hole connectors are
I'll provide mechanical drawings and new renders as soon as the layout is Finished.

Any update on the website?

Not other then: I am working on it.
I know its frustrating for you guys, the wait will be over soon.
