Thanks guys . 1000 XLR for a masternode that's not a bad idea. We'll get lots of users and nodes if they are affordable but not cheap.

Now I have nowhere near this amount I'm going to say for a masternode, however a coin I am in recently changed over to masternodes and they only have a low total supply of just over 4 million. People need 5k for a masternode so I'm thinking 5k if the total supply was already circulating but for the current supply I think either 1k or 2k would be good for a masternode. $500 for a masternode seems to be around the average.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Yes i also think 1000 XLR will be a decent price for a masternode. I want to know if we run a masternode we will get rewards every 24 hours?

Yes i also think 1000 XLR will be a decent price for a masternode. I want to know if we run a masternode we will get rewards every 24 hours?

Frequency of rewards will fully depend on how many nodes are running.
Like mining.
If you mine something alone, you get every block. If 1000 miners join, you have to share.

Same with masternodes.
If you are the only masternode, you get it all.
If 2000 join, you will have to share (meaning wait longer between each reward)

High number of coins for node = very few coins left for sale = very high price
Also makes nodes more expensive, and therefore  less, and therefore paying on avg. more.

Too few coins for nodes = not constricting supply much = not much difference in price when ppl buy nodes.
You also end up with very many nodes sharing the rewards.

Like Chaincoin.
Its got almost 2500 masternodes now i think, and still not locking up enough coins.
The result is a cheap coin, with cheap nodes giving low value rewards.
This means each time somenoe wants a node, the market is boosted 0.04 btc+.

The opposite with BSD.
Only 300something nodes running. Each node costing 2BTC+.
This means each time somenoe wants a node, the market is boosted 2btc+.

So you see how much each node investment will affect the markets.
The number of coins is really important. Constrict the supply, and demand will fight for the coins left.
Too few coins locked in nodes, and there will still be too many coins for sale.

I thinks,  ! For good quality, we need between 5000 and 10000 XLR for masternode.

5,000 - 10,000 is too much given the current supply and especially with expected price rise. Most people seam to be favoring the 1,000 per masternode, which seams like a fair amount at the current stage and also in the future.

Look at the richlist and you will notice how significant 1000 XLR is. Not many wallets can setup masternodes with 1000 XLR as collateral.
Moreover, more full nodes are good to secure the network.
at 1000 XLR, only 80 wallets are eligible.
If its POW + MN, reward could be split equally but if it is POS + MN, then MN should be significantly higher than POS, lest there will be little motivation to hold collateral

buying 1000 XLR on the market will cause a noticeable spike in price so its ok
BSD masternode costs 2BTC because of its marketcap.
Do you know how much XLR masternode will cost at coinmarketcap position 70 if collateral is 1000??
answer: about 38 BTC

in theory XLR masternode at collateral of 1000 is almost same as BSD masternode.

@Solaris Dev, lets make the XLR masternode collateral 1500; As you said, we want it to be affordable but not cheap
and should pay out a lot more than POS or equal to POW

After i read all replies probably a good option to start a masternode will be more than 1000 XLR. I think 1500XLR will be better.

I was going to say the same thing...why not pretty much split the different and do 2500? There's other MNs that do that.

I agree with you. I think 1500XLR would be the magic number for a masternode.

Can someone please explain for me , what is difference between Rich List and Largest Wallets on Explorer.THANKS Smiley Smiley Smiley
Richlist is simply a list of all addresses in decreasing order of coins held. Thus the largest address will be at the top (#1) position and the others follow in that order
Check out here : https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xlr/#!rich

A wallet on the other hand can have several address and coins in them. This list(largest wallets) does not put the different addresses into consideration. Its all just one account.
Its like a ranking of number of coins in every wallet.dat rather than a ranking of  individual addresses.
Most likely, largest wallet #1 belongs to cryptopia

What are the conditions for the masternode?

I wonder what is the best ratio of masternode-locked coins vs total coins.
Crown coin scares me.
It locked 78% of coins in masternodes but the trading price is well, not so great.
I wonder when the masternode runners will give it up.
