And another absolute lie from you. Your kickoff quote was not made by the president of BUF.

Your quote was made by Andrew Stone: https://bitco.in/forum/threads/bitcoin-unlimited-membership-join-us.208/

The BUF President is Andrew Clifford: https://bitco.in/forum/threads/voting-for-president.799/page-2

Troll harder next time.
How does that fix the problem of not being Democratic and setting up a dictatorship of the bitcoin proletariat?

And am i to understand that 26 ish votes out of the those that were made members by this statement:

Quote
There is no democratic way to kick something like this off so I am just going to be autocratic about it. I'm defining myself judge, jury and executioner (with the valuable input of those who have been interacting with me of course!) with the power to appoint the initial members. These initial members will then proceed to invite new members.

Picking a president...is democratic?

that's a farce.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I'm not even going to begin explaining how absolutely retarded 'voting' is when it comes to an open source project that anyone can freely contribute towards or fork. On top of that, the way BU does this, where the 'voting' is done by existing members, is not even slightly democratic. Lets pretend Core wanted to do this.

Lets use an analogy,

Lets say Core wanted to become 'democratic'.

So how it works is just like BU, where existing members 'vote in' new members.

So to start things off, Wladimir decides to hand pick the first few people, just like BU did.

So he picks gmaxwell, luke-jr and all other blockstream employees.

In order for anyone else to join the team, they need to be voted in by existing members, so nobody who opposes blockstream will ever get voted in.

Clearly this is very fair and democratic.

Ultimately, the original leaders are the ones who are always in power, as they will never choose people that oppose them, and those people will never choose people that oppose them etc etc. It is not democratic at all.

Please don't stop us from using ASICBoost which we're not using

Fucking exactly, its a framework that serves nothing but to hold the dictatorship in place, and it perfectly gives power over the ENTIRE network to the president who, as I understand, could easily hold 3 of 3 multisig keys for each of the pseduo checks and balances described.

I'd just like to let everyone know that Loaded still hasn't contacted me.

I'm still waiting.....

A few people have come out not just loaded, I am willing to trade as well. Will PM you to confirm your interest.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the world, and lose his own soul?

traincarwreck

adamback blockstream president
gmaxwell blockstream CTO

whens their next election?

.......

core maintainer.. whens the next election because Wladimir J. van der Laan has been.. to use your own words. dictator for a few years now.

......
reading the articles trainwreck quoted about BU. if looking at the source and reading just one line more then trainwrecks quote contextually limited.. it shows elections happened just a few months later.

the quote about self appointing at the setup of their team being "autocratic about it. I'm defining myself judge, jury and executioner" was a tongue in cheek (comedy sarcasm satire) context

anyway there are many implementations running on bitcoin and bitcoin should stay like that, diverse and decentralised.
trying all these REKT campaigns purely to make core the dictator (reference) is totally the opposite of a divers decentralised network.
wake up and see the big picture and stop kissing just a handfull of corporate devs that move on once their job is complete.

EG matt corrallo WAS part-founder of blockstream. and inventor of Fibre. but even he has jumped ship to chaincode labs now that his sction of prepping the centralised TIER netwirk(fibre) is complete.
think about it.
if you are in your 20's and part founder of a company 'valued' at $70m why would you leave before any buy-out/ownership change.
thats like leaving a party before the cake is sliced up

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

The bu time picked their own members and voted themselves into place, and are now campaigning under the guise of a freer democracy.  But the articles perfectly hold up their dictatorship if accepted and the rules state you cannot ask for the current status quo (1mb limit).  Satoshi build a project and leaves a hierarchy and a new group claims they are freedom fighters and that satoshi hierarchy he left must be overthrown and new rules be instated.

It's STRAIGHT out of the fucking communist manifesto and the ONLY rebuttal is "Well core is a dictatorship, so our dictatorship is ok".  Core is Satoshi's legacy.  Your dictatorship is shit and stupid, and anyone that support it is an idiot.

https://fairlay.com/market/bitcoin-unlimited-market-share-future/

Why?  Because of price slippage and relative market volume.

More importantly, Loaded is doing this publicly to make a statement of support for Core and in condemnation of BU.

Instead of trading anonymously on some exchange, he's putting his money where his mouth is on BitcoinTalk and daring Roger Vermin to respond in kind to his thrown gauntlet.

Not the same thing at all.  These futures are worthless if there is no network split.

Bitfinex futures are not void if there is no split  and they trade above 1:6 or so.

what happens if there's no split?

Still not same thing as taking trade conditional upon split obviously

This is a lie.

Loaded has said that he does not have faith in the BU devs, and in the past he has supported large blocks.

He has also reserved the right to back out of the deal if the BU devs were to improve upon themselves.

There is no deal to "back out of" if Roger doesn't get his act together and prove he can afford to absorb Loaded's BTU dumps.

I don't think there is a question if Ver can cover a deal of this size.

The last I read, it was loaded that has stopped responding.

Miss understanding my quote - I offered Roger a trade in private and publicly. Simple and far smaller trade to start, no response as yet.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the world, and lose his own soul?
