Those are not the same devs! The original devs ran away.
I'm, talking about a month ago when the 98% premine was exposed, the devs had been active on this thread and suddenly stopped replying. I'd like to see an official statement from them, I consider this coin too shady to invest atm.

If you claim there's a 98% premine, back this up with evidence. And I didn't reply because most were just speculating about the Viacoin price. If there was a premine, you wouldn't be the first one to mention it. So to clear up: 0% premine.

The difference between LTC and Via. They are both quite similar in Tech. Via has a few areas it needs work.
1. Chinese market- This is a huge market and we are not on any Chinese exchanges.
2. Marketing - Ltc has a team doing the marketing
3. Wallet is one click install
I feel if we fix these areas VIA will grow. 0.01582100 LTC price vs VIA price 0.00051421
Lots of room for growth.
Any thoughts....
So let me get this straight... the only differences Viacoin brings to the table in terms of a comparison to LTC is that VIA doesn't have a wallet? I thought that I saw somewhere that VIA was trying to use Segwit but with blockchain pruning? Also I don't really get what's the game plan of making VIA any more "anonymous" than BTC or LTC. Is there a possibility of having a built-in mixin structure at some point or RingCT? Edit: all of the things you have listed are all essentially "marketing" tactics... no substance in terms of code IMO, but am interested in more segwit alternatives and what they bring to the table.

98% pre-mine? Why do people still own this coin? I sold as soon as I found out and the shady devs wouldn't answer about it.
What?)) It's lie. This coin was distributed by ICO. I participated in that ICO and hold VIA now.

Also that ICO was about 10 mln (less than half of current amount) I think and raised about $380k ( source) which has probably long ago shifted hands. The current value would be around 12.8 million, so I think people that held are probably pretty happy. If you are so confident, at least provide some proof and sources, Savoyard. Looking at your other posts, you don't look like a random fudder, so I think you can do better than this.

I read the whole page. I am a little confused. I noticed they were talking about total coins and mining. Nothing to do with a pre-mine. Some people were unsure how to keep interest in the coin if there is no POS and very small payout with POW. I do understand your concerns, but it is far different than a pre-mine. This doesn't make a developer shady or untrustworthy. Maybe you can ask a question such as:
1. How are we going to keep interest with this coin without POS, or a small payout with POW?
--I believe this was answered with: POW is merged mined with Ltc.
Maybe you didn't like this answer, and that was not a very good answer(I do understand)
How about helping with the solution rather than calling out the devs.
They have been nothing but helpful since they took over this coin.
What do you think they should do?

"So VIA has not reached v1.0 yet but its total supply is 95%+ already mined to the date of this post." I am going to assume you are new here in crypto and be nice about it. There's a difference between mining & a premine. He said 95% of the supply is mined. It's mined by other people as just normal mining. There's no premine.

Can someone explain to a newbie how VIAcoin is different than say Litecoin which has been around longer? Seems like they have many similar features?
I'm not really a tech guy (more of a finance guy) so take my opinion for what it's worth. Although there are a lot of similarities between VIA/LTC (in a good way) VIA has a completely different development team, investors are different, community is different. The road map and direction seem to differ as well. Styx is an element to be added to VIA down the road that will help with anon transactions, which is something I have not seen in LTC's road map. There are also rumors of master nodes which I do not know if is true, but that would also be something to consider. Main thing is that VIA has Romano working his butt off and then super investor Otoh buying & hoarding all the coins. You also gotta keep in mind VIA is a much smaller coin. So it's easier for changes to implemented and from a financial point of view - there is more volatility in price movement. It's a lot easier for a coin like VIA to double (or drop) in price than it is for LTC. Just takes more money to move the #4 coin vs. the #70 (or whatever) coin VIA currently is. All around they are actually very different.
