where is proof of signature?
Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

XtraBYtes is a Community and as such, we do need to work together to make the best decisions and the easiest way to do this is with a VOTE for things that are most important.

What is most important now, is how we will release the STaTiC Node Network.

Yes, it is ready to go... However, we did not anticipate the massive price jump when first mapping out the STaTiC strategy and therefore we felt it was important to address a question by one of our members because it is really quite expensive for someone to buy 1 million XBY right now.

We feel it is important to give as many people as possible the opportunity to make this highly important investment and become a proud member of the XtraBYtes Trusted STaTiC Node Network. At the same time, we do not want to open this up to everyone because there must be a level of elite standard and commitment.

However, we will not make this decision on our own...

We want your help, so that everyone has a say.

Therefore, we have created a POLL and we ask that everyone votes on this and get it out to everyone that you know. You just never know who might decided to get involved with XtraBYtes and the more people we have, the larger our community corporation will become in the future.

Please choose carefully and let's discuss openly here in the forum or in Slack.

Thank you!

The Poll is at the top of the page.

Good idea.

Voting for 250k.

1M=650 nodes max
500k: 1300 nodes max
250k: 2600 nodes max

I believe the cheaper nodes are the more people will deploy, more nodes=stronger network and more opportunity for everyone interested in running a node will be able to at an affordable price.

Agreed. although I am leaning towards 500K. This will double the capacity and allow the network to maintain the 300 minimum nodes even when the % on the retention rate is down..

the question is how easy it will be to pass staticnodes around, ie buy/sell them.

1mill is obviously a largish investment atm, and if you want to liquidate your staticnode without too much fuss, then you'll need to find someone willing to invest the required funds.
if, for example, the price goes to 200, 2btc is a hefty chunk of real money and will require careful handling ie escrow

some people might find it simpler to just sell the coins in the market rather than as a staticnode.

it might be preferable to go lower - 500k
giving more scope for many static nodes, and slightly less impediment to buying/selling if the price gets higherer.

Well I bought enough for 5 nodes, they only cost a 1btc so I'm no rich guy, yet! But I'm also very lazy and not the kind f person that try to set anything technical up as I hate computers 95% of the time. My point is I doubt I would even bother to set a node up and I sure won't set up 5. I doubt I'm the only one, so the price should be low to account for 50% of people not being bothered.

The question is also many people might own coins but not 1m so then you lose people here.

The important question thing is how many modes for the system is ideal and then guesstimate what would be the best price to attain that.

Assuming the more the better then I have to say 250k

1M=650 nodes max
500k: 1300 nodes max
250k: 2600 nodes max

I believe the cheaper nodes are the more people will deploy, more nodes=stronger network and more opportunity for everyone interested in running a node will be able to at an affordable price.

what about special announcement

static node is ready but voting first to see how much needed for a static node...48 hours for voting but am guessing it's going to be clear what the results are before that...once decision is made I believe the change will take place, a hard fork then static nodes roll out with it. Going to be a fun weekend.

how about vary the static node cost based on BTC value instead of amount of coins? e.g. costs 1 or 2 btcs to maintain each node. whether the tech can cater for this is another thing..

Sharing this post by seedit122 this from the Slack. This is my vote:

Quote
Ok honestly here is the deal, we need to decide how much for a masternode/static right? If we reach DASH's price point the coin will be around 80 to 85 cents. A million coins will run $800,000, which means only millionaires can run nodes. That's insane. If you want a coin based on community it should be more accessible. It shouldnt be about status it should be about community involvement, and besides people can run multiple nodes anyway so why limit the amount by so much? A stronger network, the better, so more nodes = more strength, plus you can put on the website the fact that we are running hundreds of nodes. The less of something, the better as well - lower node req means higher future price. If Borzalom wants 300 nodes thats even more reason to lower node req. What happens if someone buys and doesnt set up a node? Loses their coins? Too risky. Lower node req down to 10k - 100k range. Pull the poll, say that it was a mistake due to technicalities or something and we have lowered the node req.

Well said! +100 to you sir seedit!

We will contact them immediately after the STaTiC System is live... This seems like the best way, rather than saying the new consensus mechanism will start on Sunday...

That probably would not hurt to bring us to their attention, but the DEV has to be on the request... We are already working on this and as I said, we will submit once we are up and running.

They need to be equal... So this must be done with XBY.
