How do you feel about the death penalty?

In my point view,  though the death penalty is against humanity, but it is suitable for the killer. It creates fear among the people and keeps them from doing such types of cruel activities.
If someone occurs a murder, then he should be punished in the same way.
So I do support....

I think it's not against humanity. The death penalty is not imposed for all types of offenses. The death penalty is only imposed on the offender who deserves it. Like someone who kills other people. When he dares to kill others, he must also be prepared to get the same. And also to people who corrupt the state money, eat state money that should be channeled to the people who really need the money. When he is corrupt, he makes many people who should be able to enjoy the money becomes increasingly miserable. I think a man like that deserves a death sentence.

Everything you guys said is totally true, and i agree with it all. But i am not sure if death penalty should be given to a people who are leading country, that is too harsh by my standards. But i think that corrupted man should be punished severely, but not with death penalty. But i agree about chain reaction.

I am and will always be a vocal proponent of the Death Penalty, death alone should be enough to deter people from committing heinous crimes and even if there is no life after death, nobody really want to die. Look at China because of the death penalty corruption is very low.

It's a no brainer. If there is no fear of the law, then the crime rate will shoot up. Look at South Africa. The ANC introduced some insane laws, and according to it a criminal will be released after serving around one-sixth of his actual jail term. Even child rapists are getting out after 6-7 months, free to commit even more crimes.

I think the law should be fair, there should be no discrimination. If the death law is established in a country, the law must apply to all the inhabitants of that country. The law should not dull up and sharp down. Not only because the person has a position in that country, he gets special treatment in law.

I also don't agree with the use of amputation as a form of punishment. Perhaps in case of heinous crimes such as rape and child killings you can have that option open. But cutting someone's limbs for just stealing something is plain insane.

And what is better to allow a person to steal all his life? I think that for theft, too, you need to punish harder even if cutting a finger.

Police already kill murderers/terrorists on sight if they get caught while they were doing their thing. (killing) If the suspect doesn't show any threat to police or to anyone, there is no need to kill him/her. That's the police part.

And getting killed by the court order? Now that's insane. Totally barbaric. If the suspect is committed inhuman crimes, there is no need for us to be inhuman as well. Locking him away for a lifetime will do the trick perfectly. Get civilized, we are not in the middle ages anymore.

If you seriously support the death penalty, you can't argue against the terrorist attacks which happen from time to time here and there. Because both are inhuman.

In principle, I think the death penalty is understandable as, while the main goal of prisons is for rehabilitating people and bringing them back to society, there are some people that are beyond rehabilitation, and hence should be put down. However, in practise (especially in the United States), it has occurred far too often where someone has been wrongfully put in death row. That on top of the recent supply problems with actual concoction used in executions make me against it.

Yes only for the family of the victim of murder and if they decide not to then no one else has the right to kill the murderer.
Until a few month ago in my country if you had 30 grams of meth they would've hanged you for it or if you were caught bringing drugs into the country if more than 30Kg of morphine, they would've hanged you for it. but I do agree with eye for an eye etc, however forgiveness is much appreciated with God if you believe in Him.
