I know what you mean but your analysis lacks some substance in very important regards. If a top club knocks on the door with literally infinite money and you are Dortmund or Ajax, how are you going to convince the player to stay? If Manchester City can pay 20 million and if Dortmund can pay 20 million, where are you going if you are Haaland? The best example how hard the transfer market is is Bayern Munich trying to sign Haaland. They wanted to pay him an absolute record salary and yet they didn't have a chance. There is no chance that the top stars decide to play in the Eredivisie and most even decide against playing in Germany. Once there is a huge financial gap between the clubs, it is hard to make up for that afterwards.
