Yes it is a big risk, but i am pretty sure Alonso has thought it over and weighed all the odds before taking this decision. Xabi Alonso wants to test himself for at least one more season in Bayern Leverkusen, it might not be successful, but it is the same way he could take over at Liverpool or Bayern Munich and fail in his first season or even longer.

Next season Leverkusen are going to play CL football, and they will be the defending champions in the league. Alonso does not have to win a title in his second season, he just has to keep Leverkusen at a good level and also keep himself attractive to the big clubs. If he is a really good manager and this season isn't just a fluke, he is definitely going to join a big club sooner rather than later.

Kimmich and Tuchel don't seem to get on very well together so it's possible he's thinking more about his future at Bayern but I think he'll still be able to make the squad with Tuchel's current uncertain state where if Tuchel fails to retain the Bundesliga trophy then he's gone from Bayern because being sacked is very strong in terms of possibility so this could be a favourable thing for Kimmich.

Taking risks are important on the battlefield, signs of confidence, watching them crawl and still becoming victorious at the end of the day. as a liverpool fan, i am sure that alonso will make liverpool even greater than it is now, because if alonso succeeds in making a team like liverpool invincible then with a squad as good as the one he has liverpool, for sure he will make it even greater.  Alonso is a coach who is highly sought after by almost all the big European teams at the moment, what he has done at Liverpool has truly amazed everyone.
