I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?

just like me, I've never seen a TV advertisement about bitcoin, I do not think it's just a cost issue that makes bitcoin never advertised on tv, but the government still has not allowed it, because there are still many people who do not understand about bitcoin, and it will be very difficult to explain

Honestly I think TV ads is a pretty bad idea, firstly someone has to pay for them and second to that they just really aren't all that effective as it is so difficult to accurately target people. Targeted ads by facebook etc are far more effective but thankfully we already have the exchanges doing that for us in a way.

I disagree, if ever advertising bitcoin in T.V will come true, then it is more likely to be of equal effective than advertising in social media. There are lots of people who are fond of watching T.V too and it is a good way to spread some awareness to them about cryptocurrencies. We don't need to pay for the advertisements, we can just have a segment about it on different shows right?

I agree about using social media but I don't think we should advertise. It is not a mainstream asset. Once it goes mainstream, it will get regulated. It is mainly taking power away from FIAT currencies - especially the USA. If the US tries to regulate it, then it will create even more uncertainty in the market and it will go deeper into the underground and lose respectability.

television is just one of the medium for btc to gain popularity, but it will also attract the tax hungry government, let's just btc make its own mark here in the internet. btc is already popular, television advertisements are good but it is not needed, internet has a wider potential than mainstream media.

I think television is the most strong portion of social media, everyone is connected to television and is watched everywhere so it will prove beneficial if we advertise it on television, most of the people have no access to internet and old age people have no idea how to use internet, so it can be a changing step for bitcoin to advertise it on television, many people will get knowledge about bitcoin and will get into it

I guess the main problem is that bitcoin is open-source, community driven... Altough there are some bigger players on the market.
I think this would make it incredibly difficult to get a concensus on which add would be shown, as well as finding sponsors to foot the bill. TV ads aren't cheap

But yes, IF there would ever be a concensus about showing a TV ad, and we would find somebody footing the bill, i think it would give BTC and incredible boost. In my country, most people still think bitcoin is only used by criminals, they always give me a strange look when i tell them i have some btc to.

I agree most of the people are not open minded about bitcoin they still think that bitcoin is only used by criminals, but showing a TV ad about bitcoin might teach the people about bitcoin

i DON't think it would be nice to advertise it in T.V. because bitcoin was still a big question if this is legal and even this is legal there is a chance that the banks would not agree to this and may erase this to this world. The scam will be large and there might people who will abuse and will just depend to the money they get to this. Bitcoin is becoming increasingly popular around the world. I would not be surprised to hear it on TV. This is a good way to spread even more coins. I like this idea.

Again, the powers that be would not allow it.  Just the same, you do not see any advertisements for alternative cancer cures on T.V. because the powers that be have ultimate control over the advertising that goes onto the T.V.

I don't think there's someone willing to spend a lot of money just to promote bitcoin, but if someone is willing i think this will have a big impact on bitcoin it is good way to encourage a lot mire people to use bitcoin and a lot of people will finally recognized bitcoin, cause bitcoin is not a legal currency in the first place it's not illegal either but when a mass adoption happen maybe the government will finally see the potential of bitcoin in a positive way so maybe they do something about it.

We have to have a look but we talking about bitcoin which is decentralized and Television is booming with lot of seasons, serials etc even in the very short 20 seconds to 1 minute gap time is even used for advertising and there will be high charges for advertising.
We know it is decentralized but we still even hear about bitcoin in NEWS channels regarding hackers demanding bitcoin from top organizations to avoid their systems hacked.
Completely advertising about our decentralized bitcoin is a big deal, we have to see who can take this challenge.
I do think people who opt this advertising tries to advertise their own business and develop fast with our bitcoin crypto currency.
It is all like again an investment for earning bitcoin in simple it is like branding our own brand
