EOS.IO is software that introduces a blockchain architecture designed to enable vertical and horizontal scaling of decentralized applications (the “EOS.IO Software”). This is achieved through an operating system-like construct upon which applications can be built. The software provides accounts, authentication, databases, asynchronous communication and the scheduling of applications across multiple CPU cores and/or clusters. The resulting technology is a blockchain architecture that has the potential to scale to millions of transactions per second, eliminates user fees and allows for quick and easy deployment of decentralized applications. For more information, please read the EOS.IO Technical White Paper.

I am in no way connected or affiliated with EOS or block.one. This has kind of become the thread for EOS on Bitcointalk, so I thought I would edit the OP with links and information. OP May 6, 2017:

It sounds like this is essentially Ethereum, but much more efficient seeing as though it has asynchronous processing of smart contracts.

https://steemit.com/eos/@dantheman/join-me-at-consensus-2017-for-the-eos-launch-party

He hasn't released many details yet, but I guess the details will come in after Coindesk's Consensus conference.
This is a very potential coin in the future. EOS is against all the principles of the Crypto market. When the whole market is red, only every green EOS. I really did not see any coin like EOS. perhaps because their platform and technology have actually met the needs of many, and as a result the strong promotion in the Crypto market is well worth it. Congratulations to EOS and its founder.

I highly appreciate the platform of EOS and their business. It is very useful and meets most of the needs of a consumer. That is why the price of EOS is always rising while the market is unstable.
I bought the EOS since its $ 4.54 and I'm still holding them until now. I really feel lucky. Grin

Great result. This is one of the first coins that has renewed its maximum and still has the potential to grow. I'm sure that soon a lot of ico will be conducted on this platform.

It is not pumped the price. there are EOS conferences all over the world... I follow the project from the beginning.. this project will change the life of many people who will believe in it and not in an X profit for short therm.
In the middle of May, the price of EOS will be 25$-30$ at least and at the end of July 100$
I know many people that they are still waiting to for the "price correction" but my personal opinion is that this correction will not come because there is not hype it is REAL development with a strong team and real support by the community!

IMO you have no idea what you are talking about - pulling numbers out of your ass. I also think you're confused - it's being pumped because of mainnet hype.. as of now EOS is just another erc20 token..

They use the erc20 token for the ICO... but from 1 June.. things will be different .. and you will say .. YES is a just a new blockchain with some different functions.
The figures I wrote them here.. are not from the ass, are from the brain..  And if you will use yours.. you will make a good profit.

Oh my God. EOS began a flight to the moon. I wonder how fast it will catch up with ETH on capitalization? Shocked

EOS got featured as #2 coin to hold for long-term by CryptoBud, it's a serious rival to Ethereum:

I sold EOS coins and now expect price to start falling. This platform only plans the beginning and nothing specific about it is not yet known. I think price of EOS is more influenced by hype and speculative expectations.

I find EOS very promising, and in the last two weeks it's flying to the moon.

Many people are still waiting for price adjustments, but I personally think this is a correction.

I think that you were a little early. The entire crypto market is always mainly influenced by hype. For instance, bitcoin has the worse technical properties and the least practical utility of about any crypto, but it still holds most value. This is only possible, because the initial hype around bitcoin still hasn't ended.
I think that people are currently selling EOS because common TA logic says that it is the right thing to do. I think that the main thing that is missed here is that EOS was for a long time highly undervalued. It has high goals and competent developers to achieve it, I think that the hype will pump EOS more then ETH was pumped back in the day.

I expect no growth after mainnet is launched, the fall is more probable

The pumps are often driven by expectations regarding coming events - but when all events have already happened what to expect? This is what happened with 'finished' projects like NEM, Stellar and other - there are no price drivers left

and also what will mainnet change? eos doesnt have apps now and wont have apps for a long time after mainnet is launched - so why price will have to rise?

actually I like the ideas behind eos except one -  21 nodes is easy target for ddos attacks and censorship, it's not a distributed p2p network, it looks more like a cloud

It's really hard to say. Larimer has built some great platforms in the past, but he has also scammed people in the past. I'd really hate to miss out on a successful launch of potentially the best blockchain project of all time, but I kind of suspect something about this is too good to be true. Ethereum was supposed to be a scam too, but it's second only to Bitcoin now.

I expect a pump that will be bigger then most expect right before mainnet. And yes, I also expect a long drop after it is released. Then there will be probably some weeks of instability with high rises and deep drops, before value will balance itself between profit takers, long term investors and new dapp developers.

Dapps are going to be the future once they get mainstream so projects like this show what EOS is really capable. This is why I'm with EOS.

with 21 nodes only it's hard to call eos apps as dapps

even amazon AWS is more decentralized in terms of infrastructure

I love to see all the Elmer Fudders tells me there is still a ton of room to grow.

21 supernodes is far more decentralized than ETH or just about any other crypto. But keep repeating that same bs please.
