That statement is only partially true. A lot of the gold trading volumes comes from paper gold (ETFs) and derivatives. These assets are not physical. They are also digital, similar to the case with Bitcoin.

In my opinion bitcoin is better than gold only in the short term. For long-term investments and in the event of a global war, it is better to use gold as it can be used without the Internet.

Literally, earning gold is a very hard working. You need to mine it, dig it, pick it up and keep it safe. Everyone wants gold because it can be sold and have more money. Bitcoin has many advantageous characters compared to gold that's why many people here chooses bitcoin and that includes me also because you can easily transfer large amount of money through bitcoin but not everything is perfect... they can still hack your accounts and transfer all the cryptocurrency you have into their accounts... that's very scary!

Me as an average individual, i can say that, it is hard to obtain a bar or even a karat of gold. I have to became rich or be a miner to find some. Or for short, it takes a lot to have an actual gold although it's value is very high. Unlike with bitcoin, just gather a lot of information related to it and have an internet access, (because there are lots of ways on how to a get bitcoin) and just be determined, then for sure you will get a bitcoin. That's why I prefer Bitcoin compared to gold.

Actually its very complex question. I think that, may not be today but in the future it will be . Bitcoin if it still continues to grow. But today gold is still better than bitcoin. I predicts that bitcoin will be  $1,000,000 so let us see. gold and bitcoin both are very good investments but Bitcoin is better than Gold.
