There is no question. DAESH is known to have used BTC. But there are very few in the "caliphate" who would know how. They have there own currency anyway. Apparently they are gold bugs. DAESH Coins in gold, silver, and cooper. This. You would have to be a fool not to use bitcoin in this particular scenario. The virtual anonymity should buy one enough time to do whatever nefarious thing they were going to do with the money, ESP if they are using strawmen to convert the btc to whatever currency they use. But have no doubt, beyond the fact that it has been reported that cryptocutrencies are being used to facilitate terror, it just makes sense. Bitcoin is about the most perfect way to launder/move illicit funds across borders. You can't move the amount of money you need to fund a war machine, without blipping on someone's radar.Congratulations you just unlocked the mystery of how terrorists are funded, bitcoin and all the cryptocurrencies combined are nothing and I mean nothing compared to the real money going for them, so in a world where hundreds of satellites are orbiting the planet just to spy on people how could they miss the Israel's next door where the real danger could potentially be from? how did they miss for 4 years that they are transiting oil from Syria and Iraq and selling to EU countries for cheap? You think those buyers didn't know who were they dealing with? they did but cheap oil was more important, now they are getting back what they made happen themselves, if you raise a lion in a cage some day you'll get attacked and eaten no matter how careful you are. Enough of this bullsh*t about bitcoin being used by terrorists you idiots. did you really think people couldn't see the truth?

I think and unequivocally I am convinced in my correct opinion that all special services if they knew that the igil is using crypto currency, then for a long time the clouds began to gather around the community of crypto-currencies. Since there is a very active fight against terrorism in the world now, it is clear that Bitcoin would begin to attack from all sides and completely prohibit its use if there were evidence of its connection with terrorism.

When something can be used by criminals to boos their performance then it safe to assume they will use it. Bitcoin is not even the best coin to be used if you are drug dealer and gun trafficker. Bitcoin is pseudo anonymous. There are altcoin which offer greater dose of anonymity - Zcash, Monero to name a few.

Bitcoin more widespread currency and investments in bitcoin less risky. I am sure that terrorists use any currencies, but it is not wine of currencies. Many terrorist organizations earn money on illegal oil production and diamonds. The most widespread currency in the world is dollar. Most likely it is also the main currency of financing of terrorists.

You do have a point and yes terrorist can make use of any currencies and could also use bitcoin to buy illegal items on the dark web. It is more of security reasons because of the transaction is untraceable unlike if you will use fiat currency. But if you have lots of money then you become powerful and whether they use fiat still any transaction is possible because if money speaks everyone listens.

I personally, believed that they are.
Other terrorist as well are using bitcoin as mode of money transfer in my opinion. Some of them are just using a non-government organization as front so it will not attract much attention. I think even the FBI can already admitted that they have found links that indeed the terrorist are using bitcoin to hide their trail. So they can just withdraw their money using bitcoin and continue to funded their organizations. And the one that funded them will remain anonymous as long as they are using bitcoin to hide their identity.

Perhaps it's really not worth listening to such tales, as if the igil can use Bitcoin. This is very bad news for users of crypto currency. But I hope that Bitcoin and its technology have not gone into helping terrorism.

ha ha, In order for somebody to be hired by the CIA as an ISIS employee they must have a poor understanding of the world and limited grasp of technology. So it isn't a question of whether they use it, it is a question of whether they are able to understand what it is. But certainly the people in Washington and Moscow and Beijing who manage pr for ISIS know what bitcoin is, and will try to give the simple idiots a sheen of literacy, an illusion of intelligence, by having some agents pretend to use bitcoin as terrorists.

We all know that Bitcoin is also popular to criminals because they can use it without exposing their identity. It will be more convenient to them to use Bitcoin so that they can hide their identity. Do you think that terrorist groups like ISIS use it for their transactions?
Why not. ISIS has a strong intelligence i think and transacting with bitcoin would likely be a good option for these no-gooders. These people obviously are not stupid and btc would already be in their radars. Sad to say, but btc's features can also be taken advantage of by evil people

Absolutely. Bitcoin is a tool and quite useful one at that, capable to bypass many restrictions put on fiat currencies. They definitely use bitcoins, because they use it to buy weapons in DEEP WEB and trade them in the underworld, which is how IS works.
No, no, no. Islamic State couldnt care less about trading via deep web, thats for small fishes. They have huge military arsenal from iraqi army, they have oil wells and they recieve more petrodollars from gulf, arab states. State at war requires far more money, than some underhanded bussiness on deep web, leave that to Albanians.

In situation they are now it's not easy to move cash around, they can't use banks so what is left? Do they use bitcoin, yes for sure, and other coins also, some other coins can provide more anonymity then bitcoin. They use bitcoin now, tomorrow something else, they need it and they will always find a way for achieving their goals, one way or another, people can die or suffer, its their nature, bitcoin has nothing with their character.

Why use a currency that is associated with anonymity when the whole world knows where you get your money from: The United States government, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
Do your research. ISIS is a United States' funded organization. Operation Cyclone started out as an op where Reagan and his cronies began to fund the Mujahideen, to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. We now know them as the Taliban.
Once called "Freedom fighters", they are now conveniently declared terrorists because interests changed, the arms fell into the hands of a different administration.
Again, I reiterate: America created ISIS.
No, they do not use Bitcoin. They use the USD, and the petrodollar. Oh, and they have a lot of it, too! Did you know that Bin Laden was part of the Saudi Royal Family? Yes, he was unhappy with how the Saudi government had ties with the US government. In fact, this is a talking point for Republicans who believe in labeling Arab anarchists as terrorists, too!

Why you may ask, well first of all bitcoin is a lot harder to track than dollars. Second, you can use it when ever you like and not need to carry big bag full of cash with you. It easier to use and count. There are a lot of perks that bitcoin have and dollar do not. That is why it is good for black business things.

I would not know whether my neighbor is using bitcoin let alone ISIS Criminals will find a way to transfer money and they keep on evolving be it bitcoin ,fiat or western union,so it is hard for anyone to find whether someone is funding for criminal activities unless the person behind the transaction is a criminal .

You do have a point on criminals will find a way to transfer money on whatever means they want. But the question is if ISIS uses bitcoin. And yes you are again correct with they will find ways just to do their illegal activities on whatever modes or means of payment they want. They are criminals, like ISIS who would always do things for them to be untraceable.

No doubt they do. A easy way to hide where the funds come from and anyone can access the funds. Other than using a bank account and being traced. What do you think?

No doubt they do. A easy way to hide where the funds come from and anyone can access the funds. Other than using a bank account and being traced. What do you think? I think so. After all, we already know that criminals and drug dealers using bitcoin very long time. ISIS proved already many times that Internet and social medias is their main promotion tool and weapon. So, no doubt that they know about bitcoin and already using it. Bitcoin is anonymous and decentralized, no government control. So, it's perfect tool for them.
