Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

i think almost everyone with a higher profile in the bitcoin community would laugh like that when being asked if they were satoshi, and react in a similar way, so it doesnt prove anything obviously

That guy isn't in the bitcoin community (unless he is satoshi I guess) as far I understand. He was questioned because he is English and at a crypto conference.

But still not answering and laughing doesn't mean anything. Even saying that "I wouldn't tell you if I was" doesn't mean anything. I thinking speaker obviously means that Satoshi wouldn't tell you, and obviously he wouldn't.

I encourage everyone to find the full article or the magazine somewhere. Perhaps buy it! That was absolutely the best Bitcoin article I've ever seen, by far. Joshua Davis has been researching this for months.

Popular Moscow based news website lenta.ru reports that rusleaks.org is closed and asking for money via bitcoin.

rusleaks.org is apparently somewhat similar to wikileaks in nature, and is hosted outside of Russia.
Apparently the Russian Federal telecommunications department (RSKOMNADZOR) is trying to shut it down.

"The creators have also published RusLeaks account number in an anonymous payment system Bitcoin and asked for their support. Earlier in his correspondence with " Finam.FM "they indicated that they intend to organize a fundraiser users."

The site currently states (translated via google):

Thanks to everyone who has supported us!

It's not clear to me the exact nature of what the material rusleaks is/was leaking. Perhaps some russian speaking bitcoiners can clarify.

(please start a new thread in Bitcoin Discussion if you want to talk about this item)

Just a  relatively obscure blog (+ video)  - but I think it makes an interesting point about the business community's current (mis)perception of Bitcoin.

Personally I think occupying Wall Street is silly.  It's useless to shout like this.  If you're not happy with the US currency or the banking system, just buy gold, silver or bitcoins.  It's less noisy, but much more efficient imho.

There's more at stake here than personal fiscal security.  The central question OWS is asking is "What kind of society should we be?  Should we value and foster community support, or let the Wall St. focus on personal fiscal security continue to destabilize our social supports?"

No idea why this thread suddenly went un-sticky.
