Anyone else having trouble with YAC deposits to bter.com not showing up?

Christian

I strongly urge all who read this DO NOT USE BTER.
They have held coins deposited there for over 3 weeks with support which replys a few days after requesting claiming to have solved the issue but it is not fixed.  This site is managed horribly and too many exchanges especially BTER are very GREEDY you can not TRUST them.

I've made many, many deposits to BTER, and have had trouble with a few of them (maybe 4 deposits).  Each of those was resolved by support in about 24 hours.  Not ideal when it doesn't work, but it's always been resolved.  I had one lost deposit to cryptsy recently, but they resolved that as well (too late to sell into a spike of course).

Everyone has different experiences and some people will swear by one product and condemn another, while the next person may be the exact opposite.

There's a couple on the wallet, and one on the GPU and CPU mining side.

It's not dead, it's simply "quiet". And not in a bad way or a good way..
The network is running fine, so noone is here with problems
There's really no "marketing" behind YACoin right now, but there should be.

Actually, I want to do a contest to mark the 1 year anniversary of YAC.  I've been thinking about this, but I don't know the best way to execute it.  I've got 3,650 YAC set aside (10 per day for a year essentially) to put into a pot for whomever will guess the lowest block number with an age of 365 or higher.  The only thing would be if people edit their posts, there will be no way to determine who said what first.  Unless it's all handled via PM and I post the guesses.  There would be a cutoff time of May 12th or something.

Winner would get 75% of the pot, and the remaining 25% would be split amongst the 5 next closest guesses.

Thoughts?  Anyone want to add onto the pot or have suggestions for how to run this?

I suggest making a separate thread for the guesses and stating that edited posts will be disqualified (you can see whether a post was edited by mousing-over the post's timestamp).

edit: Huh, apparently that's not always true...

edit2: maybe there's some sort of grace period for editing?  Huh

edit3: nah, still nothing

maybe locking the topic would work? not sure if posts can be edited afterwards, but i suppose not

edit4: finally the "last edited" notice showed up \o/

I shouldn't have to say this anymore... DON'T USE BTER. I had 55000 YAC and 42 LTC ($5000 total in USD at the time), and THEY STOLE THEM FROM ME! They zeroed at my balance--seriously. It was due to an 'imbalance', in other words... completely their mistake. Just wait until Cryptsy returns the YAC trading pairs. If they don't have YAC up in the next couple days, I will be sending them some emails and I strongly urge others to do the same.

dbbit, I'm not sure what your issue is, but it would behoove you to use thirtybird's yacminer instead of mining through the wallet.

We have advocated the security problems must be
Individual behavior is not enough attention
We should stick together
Come on

If any of you geniuses who compiled from "source" went and read the code, you'd realize that it was only the naming changes and a few small changes that are actually in that git repo right now, and they're 9 days old.  In other words, none of the scrypt changes are there, so you're mining on code that is completely irrelevant and will get you nowhere

looking at your post history you sure have some weird coin tastes.

the code is open-source so you can inspect and compile it yourself.
binaries are just a convenience for the less tech savvy people out there.
