I think it will be good if this will happen in the future. Bitcoin will definitely increase its value if cashless society will be implemented. It will be an advantage to people who was already in the bitcoin investment.I think it is more convenient if cashless society will happen. The disadvantage is that if technology was down(power outage or no internet connetion), we don't have other way to pay our services. It will be better if both of them co-exist and it is up to the buyer on which type of payment he/she wants to use. Just saying.

I think it is a cashless society is a good idea but when it comes to people who are not using bitcoin is so hard and they really don't understand the value of bitcoin and many people here in my province really trust the cash than an online banks and sometimes the banks didn't work.

I agree a cashless environment is useless if there was no internet or power ! if the government want to implement this kind of environment they have to come up with an alternative solution !

I think it's impossible to diminish the physical or paper currency and be replaced with digital currency like bitcoin because it's hard to regulate currency like bitcoin if everyone is using it. There might be an future conflicts against banks/government and the regulators unless they will benefit so much than the people.

The physical currencies will stay and they will not get replaced by any digital currencies like bitcoin because the government will not let that to happen because they will protect the physical currencies and they will set limitations on the digital cryptocurrencies so they will not replace the physical currencies and stay as an option and not a replacement.

Cashless society isn't a good ideal at all. I mean there are many kind of purchase that you can't just do it online. You need to have at least some cash to pay for it.

Yes, I believe in cashless society. Even now many processes are being made cashless, and this will go on. As for the fiat money, they will not disappear in a moment. I guess they will co-exist with cryptocurrencies still for a long time

Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink

The world has been moving towards a cashless society for a long time before blockchain, and would continue moving in that direction even without it today. We already have digital fiat without blockchain, so that's not a prerequisite. The world will go cashless without Bitcoin, and it will do it better, as didgital fiat is far more useful than any crypto due to its wildly fluctuating value. Companies like Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and Square have done far more than Bitcoin has in moving the world off cash.

i guess it won't change our life as you think. Of everything will be like you wrote, life will be disgusting. What about anonymous purchases...
Poor people will stay poor, rich will stay rich) Government will find new ways of theftes, business will find bew ways for corruption, but everythink will be the same...

Yes we are nearly to cashless society.Because in the future there will be no cash for implementing as high technology be used to all the world.Just like now bitcoin is easy to used in any kind of transaction.Any payments soon can be done in bitcoin.Maybe one day we can use it for shopping and others we can use bitcoin easily. And if bitcoin will only to be used without cash. All over the world will implement one order to become as a one word government.Cashless society is very good to those people who are in favored of high tech. This is much good for them because there will be no more long process. As they started to implant a biochips as a quick transacting to all kinds of electronic process.Just like in a cashless society we can transact fast by network through bitcoin.Cashless society makes the world in order.

Everything could be possible, but there are a lot of changes and adjustments required to acquire such hypothesis. Yes, it could eliminate the possibility of criminal cases subjected to money or physical currency, but for sure there could be another form of criminal activity that could be developed during the era of your so called "cashless society". Definitely I am not understimating the power of blockchain technology, but just imagine, Internet connection is the most essential thing in every transaction for Bitcoin. In my country we still have a very poor internet connection for more than a decade already and I dont think there's an improvement going on. I know we could store our Bitcoins offline via Cold Storage, but hOw about the idea and procedures of doing offline transactions like paying for service or purchasing stuff, I guess I could say you could transfer your btc using bluetooth lol.

Abiky i believe a paper currency less society is possible but not in the recent future. First of all this will require universal free internet access which will not be possible until probably thirty years time that is even if the developed world is ready to make sacrifice to help the less endowed get to that le
I agree with you, cashless society is possible but not in the now because it will take many years more. A cashless society can only be achieve if the bitcoin or other cryto currency eliminate cash and the whole world will agree not to use it. And also if the government will agree with it because I think if people will not use cash it can have an impact on them and the economy.

Have you seen Mr. Robot? You reminded me of it.
Well coming to real world, it is not possible at least for next 20 years. No matter how easy cryptocurrencies made the finance but still its scope limited to internet. We need liquid flow of internet to transfer BTC and other coins from one person to other. But if we see current situation, internet is not the bite of every individual. Lots of technical jargon stops the way of utopian society of CRYPTOCURRENCIES.

I agree with you, the moment i saw this it the first thing that came to my mind is that How about the people who are does not know how to use computers or those people in mountain areas or those places that doesn't have strong internet connection or those places like islands where there is always a brownout. Maybe it can be possible if the government will teach ALL people how to use computers, NO brownouts and Internet in all public places. And it is not possible too soon specially to those 3rd countries

Well I think this is impossible, come to think of it our country was prone in different natural Disasters  and cashless society will always rely on electricity, how if a earthquake or typhoon hit a certain country and power source of electricity was lost how they can buy foods if the access on their money was not able? Secondly the scamming many of us always overcome the weakness of someone let us face the reality that we are all not literate in using technology especially the indigenous people It might sure that many people will overcome their weaknesses because of poverty and greediness. To sum it all cashless society was very impossible at all.

This is possible but some of the government members might not agree because some of the government employees are corrupted and digital currency transactions has a way to find out any suspicious illegal transactions and they might reveal themselves if this system will be implemented.

IMHO such scenario for the future is inevitable.
However I do not think it could happen during this century, maybe in the first half of 22nd century.
Eventually it all comes down to human psychological needs and anything can be used as a medium of exchange.
Even today in some smaller rural communities in eastern Europe people that are known for producing cheese exchange their produce with their neighbors who have chicken laying eggs, etc.

But what you are saying requires that all of us know all about cryptocurrency right? Also, all of us must have the gadget to use with online transactions, but I know for a fact that not all of us can afford to buy a gadget to use let alone the education needed about cryptos. And I think it is still better to use fiat currency to small transactions in our everyday lives like buying in the market and retail stores.

I am sure that what he meant was it will eventually going to be a 'cashless society' since we are slowly heading towards that goal. By introducing these cryptocurrencies to us is only the first step of this. By getting familiar with the concept and the different things that are connected to these digital currencies are probably the next step. By adapting ourselves to this type currency by utilizing, accepting it as our currency, and co-exist it to the current fiats is the next to that step. By improving this kind of technology and making it more powerful, is the second to the last step. And finally by eradicating the fiats and solely utilizing the cryptos. That is how a 'cashless society' come into place.

Perhaps in the future people with exchange goods for various cryptocurrencies. Shops/retailers may want to introduce their own tokens.
That's how I see the cashless society, for now, haven't thought a lot on this topic. What I fear tho is that people will receive some sort of RFID chip in their hands and use it to pay for everything. NWO-tier nightmare scenario.
