The thing you called as calue comes from the demand of the market. If the demand breaks down and people start to sell their bitcoins, the market cap would collapse. Everything is possible in cryptocurrency world.

Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?

Of course that the probability of bitcoin to change its value is always 1, because the price/value of bitcoin changes every time and never is stable.

Check now and check for the past month this year and you can see how unstable the price was, if it is possible to lose its value then it has the potential to increase its value too.

There will happen some correction of the price of course but more and more big investors are investing in bitcoin and this is one of the reason of the high price that we see now.

True that it isn't a stable market but so far it has been on uptrend in a reasonable time now.

Yes the market isn't stable but it gives profit for everyone. The bitcoin price is hard to predict because their are a lot of people who trade the bitcoin everyday that affect its price. It is also possible that bitcoin lose its value someday because the demand always change and may be the people find a better altcoin to invest that result the bitcoin price down.

I think there's a possibility that its value will decrease, but won't totally lose its value. And beside, Bitcoin community is becomming bigger, and we all know that its community benefits on its demand that makes its value high. And since more people are being hooked up into Bitcoin, I think it will be impossible for its value to be pushed back as its value 6 years before.

Yes, it's possible for the bitcoin price to start the downfall but its also possible to going up, everything can happen on cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. Well, we are not oracle, we never know what will happen into bitcoin for the next 5-6years but i'm pretty sure the future of bitcoin is really good far ahead.

Bitcoin will never lose it's value. I know that the bitcoin will become more powerful. Bitcoin is impossible to downfall like 5 years ago. I am sure that the price of the bitcoin will rise up again.

There would always be corrections of the value of Bitcoin from time to time so that we can all avoid a big bubble. These corrections are actually good for Bitcoin and it is good for people who wanted to enter Bitcoin at a cheaper price. Bitcoin just like any other stock or foreign exchange fiat money can go down and up depending on the market and there are many factors that can affect the market anytime.

It all depends on the context of the drop, as other users have said, corrections are often a good thing for the market because it (mostly) prevents the market from forming into a bubble and turning the market into a large pump waiting to crash.

As for other kinds of drops, they're unlikely and currently in the minority of time spent in the market. The only major "collapse" of the value of Bitcoin occurred in 2015, nowadays it is a lot more secure with the value being higher and the demand having increased considerably, beyond where it was in 2015.

There is less chance only bitcoin will fail, we have witness how successful this year alone and gives the investors a lot of profit, I think the progress will continue so we should all understand that holding bitcoin is the best investment now. Everything is possible with bitcoin that's why losing its value would be possible because a lot has happen to bitcoin. As you can observe by its price, its fluctuating everyday even reaching up to $500 either ways but then if it goes down, it is still rising at the end of the day. Being more popular now, it is hard for us to imagine losing its value. Maybe if time will come when we will not use bitcoin anymore that it's price would eventually go down and lose its value but then seeing how countries are adopting and regulating made us believe that bitcoin will continue to exist for a long time.

Yeah this now becoming a global phenomena as we see bitcoin's demand gaining it's popularity ever since after August 01 gathered much appreciation on how it became more stronger. The adoptions of some countries as legal usage took place is on of the biggest reasons why price now continually becomes more stable and even rising to the top. In that terms of losing it's value, I think is still possible but with minimal digits because bitcoin was still a volatile type of currency. Economy of digital currency must circulate it's usage in order to become stabilize and that's what we all dreamed of for now.

I do not agree with your perspective. Bitcoin can lose its value forever if it is not good anymore and people do not want to use. There are many altcoins out there and some of them are greater and better than bitcoin. Moreover, if the blockchain techonoly can not prove that it can make the world better, it will not be used anymore and bitcoin will be abandoned forever

I do not agree with your perspective. Bitcoin can lose its value forever if it is not good anymore and people do not want to use. There are many altcoins out there and some of them are greater and better than bitcoin.
