Hi,

Congrats for your app ! Looks pretty and comments are positive but... I can't run it properly.
Here is the config :
I am using a MBP 13" on Mavericks (Xcode installed) and i want to mine with cpu.
Ok i'm already mining with GPU with desktop computer on Windows, so i am register to a pool, i have workers, passwords, correct address.

So i open MacMiner, open CPU Miner, and i get this message when i start.

[2013-11-25 00:22:54] 2 miner threads started, using 'scrypt' algorithm.
[2013-11-25 00:22:54] HTTP request failed: Recv failure: Connection reset by peer
[2013-11-25 00:22:54] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds.

Where is the problem? thanks

Ok.(I start mining this week)

I am using this pool :
http://spare.ozco.in:9333
I don't find any log. But here is the message box text :

"bfgminer has started
The primary pool is set to http://spare.ozco.in:9333 and the user is set to flushdream.1"

That's all i know.

I don't know what the problem is but it's something with the pool - if not wrong username or password then some technological problem it definitely works with p2pool nodes and maybe other people here can suggest some good LTC pools they use?

Thanks very much helping me, it is working with P2Pool  Cheesy
Now i m gonna test it everywhere.
Congrats again. Very nice work !

so maybe pools have restrictions for CPU users, as i my i3570 (W8) is running on this same pool with 100khash and nothing is moving.
 Huh

(I will make a donation as soon as collect something Cheesy)

"bfgminer has started

Why bfgminer?
You said you're trying to use CPUMiner.
However, try to use "stratum+tcp://spare.ozco.in:9333" instead of "http://spare.ozco.in:9333".

Thanks for the tips.
It's now working with Ozcoin, and the message box text title is now "CPUMINER". (I know it was written BFGMiner before despite i was starting CPUMiner)

I m also having the "Kh indicator" working. This was not the case with P2PooL.

So if i also want to mine with GPU (macbookpro & macpro) : i should use BFGMiner + "enable GPU Mining" + "scrypt" ? (it's working but want to be sure)
Any other settings ?

Once again awesome work !

the set up is the same as v1.3.17 on the HD6870 in the tower both are Mavericks. Which still works with the same settings.

Can you check activity monitor on this machine to make sure there aren't extra bfgminer processes running? They could be in use by a previously started process…

Yamauchi - It looks like you're only CPU mining by the speed, at that speed you're not going to earn anything unfortunately…

You should be able to mine most if not all, definitely BTC/LTC and anything else that works the same way as either should work

On second thought BitBacco... can you remove my P2Pool as one of your backups in your software? galactica.geekgalaxy.com:9332
I'm starting to hit limits on file opens associated with bitcoind due to the amount of spurious connections coming from people jumping in and out of my pool and for some reason each quick connection doesn't close.  I'm going to be closing off my pool to outside connections soon.

Thanks!

I couldn't google quickly whether either of those coins work with bfgminer, I'll have a look in to it further

I've just released 1.4.21 and removed jedimstr's p2pool node from the default backup pool list so if you applied pool settings in 1.4.20 please just click save & start again in 1.4.21 to remove his node from the list and replace it with another p2pool node

1.4.21 also updates cgminer to 3.8.3 which no longer supports cpu/gpu mining - please let me know if you're using cgminer for your usb miners how this version works for you!

Thank You! Much appreciated!!!

Even with a Fiber Pipe, my main connection turned to mush with the DDOS like onslaught of the MacMiner horde.  It seems P2Pool maxconnections setting only applies to peer connections and not worker connections.

Does this effect scrypt mining, too?

no problem jedi, thanks for trying to help out! Luckily I've got a nice server to run it on Smiley

yes that's scrypt too, but you can still scrypt mine in bfgminer and cpuminer windows

Just to clarify: if I want to scrypt mine LTC with my GPU while I am also using bfgminer to run Block Erupters, I need to stick with 4.20?

You can use the FPGA/ASIC window which also uses bfgminer for the Block Erupters and use the bfgminer window for scrypt mining with the gpu - if the new version doesn't work out for you you can always get older versions by replacing the version number in the download link but let me know please
