Maxcoin uses a different algo, Kekkak, than the ones supported in the embedded miners used in MacMiner (Scrypt, SHA256).
The latest versions of MacMiner include several backends and support a bunch of algorithms including keccak Smiley

Woops, my bad.  I thought you still had pooler's CPU Miner and not the fork with the forked cgminer.

I'm trying to add a few Antminer S1 units to the API window.
The problem is, only the first one shows in the device list, while I see the the full report of all in the bottom part of the screen.
I think this is because all units identify as "ASC0"
Is it possible to add a function to change the device name, or maybe identify them by IP instead ?

Installed Version 1.5.18e.
There is definitely some improvement.
Now I see my Antminer U1 too Smiley
I still see only one of my other standalone ASICs (whichever has been added first).
In the screen below I have added an Antminer S1, a Bitburner Fury and an Antminer U1.

I still see only one of my other standalone ASICs (whichever has been added first).
In the screen below I have added an Antminer S1, a Bitburner Fury and an Antminer U1.

This is not an official version, but I'd appreciate it if you'd try this new beta branch and let me know how it goes - it fixes the issue where only one Antminer U1 shows up! Make sure to note the following though:

http://downloads.fabulouspanda.co.uk/MacMiner.app-1.5.19.zip

• Hopefully fixes the crash on launch bug I can't reproduce
• MASSIVE change to the API data fetch in the backend - Table now shows multiple devices similarly named from different IPs e.g. two GPU0s
FOR THIS VERSION ONLY because it's not an official version Networked Miners MUST be added in this format:
http://127.0.0.1:4028

with the http:// and the port - however,

(@XFox Wink

http://mypublicminer.fabulouspanda.co.uk:4028

should now work as well

• Implementation is buggy in this non-version, but it doesn't let you launch a CPU Miner unless you've set up the corresponding pool

Yeaaaah !
This is awesome !
Great job, Anonymailer !
One last request - how about user editable device name, or a label of some sort, or just displaying the IP in a separate column?
Anything to make identifying them easier ?

Hey BitBacco,

Do you have plans to support Gridseed devices, particularly the Infinity Mini?

Hey BitBacco,

Do you have plans to support Gridseed devices, particularly the Infinity Mini?
Things are looking up, I should be able to get initial support in soon!

beta MacMiner updated now includes location info for networked miners in the API Output window and updates cgminer to version 4

Hi,

Do you know macminer will work with Gridseed gridseed usb (5-chip) miner ? I ordered one from a vendor and he claimed that it will work on MAC with some tweaking but apparently all the information i found is for Windows.....

The thread is here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=482352.0

Thanks for any feed back !

EDIT: silly me, i just saw your post on the dual miner source code availability... guess i am forced to find some alternative ways of getting it to work.

FWIW you can clone the following branch and get this working with a single executable:

https://github.com/nwoolls/bfgminer/commits/feature/dualminer-support

Run bfgminer with --scrypt to mine scrypt or without it to hash SHA. Works on OS X as well. Requires FTDI drivers.

Awesome, thanks Nate! Does it support Dual mode and if so, how do you switch it on?

It does - it's a physical switch on the devices. If you have it set to L, you launch bfgminer with --scrypt and it goes at 70Kh/s. If you set the switch to B, then you can run bfgminer without --scrypt to hash at 500Mh/s SHA-2 and run bfgminer with --scrypt to hash at 30Kh/s Scrypt.

I see, so it really is two miners! I'll get your new bfgminer mod packaged up for MacMiner, thanks for another bfgminer driver Smiley
