TerraHash will sell ASIC Bitcoin mining gear using the Avalon ASIC chips. More information: http://www.terrahash.com

Basically what we are doing is as follows:

  • We have ordered 20,000 chips from Avalon. We will be ordering Klondike boards, as soon as the design is ready. We are in process of ordering all the other components. Once we have everything, we will assemble the boards and sell them.
  • Once we have all the components, we will start taking orders for board assembly. In this case, you will send us your chips, we will put them on a boards along with other components and ship them back to you, for a fee of course
  • We will also be offering plug and play kits with an enclosure, power supply, cooling fas, cables etc.

Update June 13

We now have sample Avalon chips and few board. Will update when we assemble one.

http://terrahash.com/sample-avalon-chips-and-klondike-16-boards/

Update June 6

We have finished designing the case for TerraHash DX Large.

http://terrahash.com/product/terrahash-dx-large/

I will answer all the questions asked below as FAQ here:

Q. Are you going to design your own PCBs?
A. No, we will be using BkkCoins' Klondike design. We are already in talks with him for a bulk order. But of course, we are still waiting for specs from Avalon, before he can finish the design.

Q. So u actually have nothing for sale, right ? this is just another pre-order story?
A. We are not accepting any pre-orders at this time. We will start accepting orders only when we have products ready to ship.

Q. any ETA for one of your products ?
A. We are still waiting for Avalon to release the specs. As soon as they do it, BkkCoins will hopefully finish the design and be able to send us some boards within 7-10 days, or we will try to get some manufactured locally here in Bay Area. The turn around time for boards is usually 3-4 days. So we hope we will have boards in 2 weeks. After that we will do some testing for about 2 weeks. Basically within a month, we will be ready to assemble and ship upto 250 boards a day, given that we have the Avalon chips. Now that is a big variable, we have no idea when we will get the chips. However we will start taking orders for the assembly service, so that in case you receive your chips, you can send them over to us and we will start assembling your boards.

Q. I have my own chips, can I send them to terrahash for assembly?
A. Yes, that's one of the services we provide. Look at http://terrahash.com/product/4-5-ghsec-modular-board-assembly-only/ and http://terrahash.com/product/18-ghsec-modular-board-assembly-only/

Q. Is there anyone offering hosting of these rigs yet? Can I ship direct to hosting company?
A. We don't know. We don't plan to do it. Yes, we can ship your rigs wherever you want us to ship them.

Q. Do you have any price range for full plug & play product made from chips you ordered?
A. There are two plug and play models we have. DX Mini and DX Large. DX Mini starts from 11.99 BTC with one module. Every additional module is 1.99 BTC. DX Large starts from 21.99 BTC with one module. Each additional module is 6.99 BTC.

Q. Will you do escrow?
A. No.

Your website is not as clear as you were in that other Terrahash thread. Please if you have a website even semi operational, spell everything out or you risk all manner of assumption on public forums.

The fact you are not accepting payments and why is worth mentioning and will save you a LOT of grief.

No, as the term 'pre-order' suggests, you can order, but in this case you can't, as they have nothing yet for sale and aren't excepting funds, therefore it is not 'another' pre-order story...

Most importantly, will you supply valid proof of working hardware before accepting orders and shipping?

Thank you all for the support. We are not claiming to be doing any rocket science. We are just taking Avalon's chips, Klondike PCBs, a bunch of components and putting them together for a fee. We just saw there was a huge demand for this, with 700,000 chips already sold and no reliable assembly operation.

ill order from u for sure, i wish u good luck ...

I don't have much to say anything beyond what our website says. Just reserving this space to update in the future.

  • We will also be offering all-in-one kits with the power supply, cooling fas, cables etc. Just like the Avalon kits.

pcb board assembly for 18gh is 7btc or $798? a 60 chip in a 6 pcb? that is very expensive, maybe i should get a thread offering a much cheaper option.

Amir has 13 posts and he is providing a service ... better be careful.. he does not accept Escrow ..

What I've learned in last few weeks that most sellers of anything here are people with 20-30 posts. Guys who joined bitcointalk week ago selling first week orders of BFL singles. Yeah sure, first week order and joined this forum few days ago, probably found about BFL on Brazzers..

First of all, I never bought any BFL singles, nor did I offer to sell any. Second, why do you assume that everyone using/mining Bitcoins has to have a Bitcointalk account with 100s of posts? My purpose of signing up on here is just to provide official representation of the company on this particular forum. We did not advertise our products here, we had to make this thread because people were speculating negatively about our company on other threads.

My post was not been specifically aimed at you, more a general answer on other post but yeah, you're not excluded from that. Of course you do not need to have a Bitcointalk account with hundreds of posts but of course the lack of them will not make people completely comfortable.

PS. module prices are pretty good but first entry one could be lower.

I was thinking of buying some chips with the intent of assembling the K64 model myself.  But after some research, I realized I was probably not properly qualified to try such and endeavor.  Frankly 7BTC for the populated board (module?) seem very reasonable (considering the raw asic cost 5BTC).

If the price is firm, you can be sure I will be your customer for the K64s (not sure about the 21BTC enclosure though).  Looking forward to you opening orders.

On the other hand, what's the guarantee that a person with a 3 year old account with 500 posts will not scam anyone? And don't tell me thats never happened. What I am trying to say is, judging someone by the number of their posts is just like judging someone by the color of their skin.

There is no guarantee of course but people with more posts and time spent at some community usually have someone to vouch for them or some trades to show, reputation etc... anyone can screw you on Internet, that's true but there are situations with less or more risk involved.

You might not like it but at the moment you are the one with more risk involved and we're talking about significant amount of money, it's not like 20-50 when you don't care too much. I would definitely consider buying from you though I don't like the opening module price but it would be very hard decision to send few thousands to someone I don't have a clue who is he and where is he coming from. That doesn't mean you're scammer of course, you might be the most honest person but...
