Here are Steamboats CONFIRMED chip orders...  Terrahash Pre-Order buyers, tell me how you have not been CORNHOLED.

Batch 1: Order #10177, Purchase date May 1,2013. Expected delivery date early July
Batch 2: Order #10265, Purchase date May 11,2013. Expected delivery date mid July
Batch 3: Order #10325, Purchase date May 22,2013. Expected delivery date mid/late July.
Batch 4: Order #10425, Purchase date May 28,2013. Expected delivery date late July, early Aug.
Batch 5: Order #10553, Purchase date June 5. Expected delivery date early/mid Aug.

Please tell me how the purchasers of those Avalon chips plan to convert them into a working miner? It certainly won't happen as soon as they receive the chips, so you can add at least a couple of weeks onto the dates listed above. I suspect a lot of folks will be sitting on Avalon chips desperately searching for someone to assemble them into a working miner, which will take time.

I just called them and told them they should post their chip order number on the forum to help appease people's concerns. His response was, "I haven't looked at the forum. I'll look into it."   So lets hope for a chip order number here. They were getting slammed with phone calls and visitors yesterday when I visited. I can only imagine the volume of calls/emails/PM's he's getting. They only had two people in the office yesterday. They aren't setup to stay on top of a thread as active as this one.

Its not like yesterday and today were the first time we've asked for chip order confirmation. The request has simply been ignored.

It's not a matter of If they will deliver, but when can they deliver. And that depends on when they have placed their chip order and quantity. And the only conclusion I can draw, from the lack of proof, is they have placed the order very late and know they will not be able to deliver on the promised date, and given the price they are charging now. I doubt there is will be much of an ROI when it finally gets shipped.

The order numbers started from 430. The order numbers do not increment by 1. I really don't know how this shopping cart software works, but we are using WooCommerce.

Regarding the proof of chip order, we do not have the private key to the address we used anymore. But I will post a screen shot from Avalon's website.

that would make me feel a lot better

Why would you not supply that to your customers before opening the orders if you had it available all this time?!

It saves monster headaches!!

Reasons they are unlikely to be a Scam:

1. They are based in the U.S. (Some people may argue otherwise but it is pretty difficult to pull off an outright scam for millions of dollars without some kind of legal repercussions... unless you work on wall street anyway).
2. They are accepting Paypal (Buyer protection and quite honestly I'm not even so sure that these "pre-order" deals don't violate Paypal's TOS in the first place.  I highly doubt upon complaint that a refund would not be issued.)
3. They are accepting Credit Cards (Buyer Protection)
4. They accept calls and have a public address that they have invited customers to come visit.

Quite honestly I think the only item in question here is their delivery estimates.  Realistically I wouldn't expect to see any hardware shipping until mid August at the earliest.  I would also expect that within the next 45 days there should be enough updates to get a good feeling of when orders will be received and whether or not you want to request a refund or sell your preorder.  All things considered the risk is pretty low when it comes to all of the current options for getting your hands on a functioning ASIC in the semi-near future at a reasonable price.

You should have posted that before orders opened like you said you would.

No one asked you for keys, we just wanted some proof. Most importantly with a DATE that you placed the order.

You would have had a lot more orders and you have now started with a lot of pissed off people

+1 aside from being unprofessional, I don't know why a legitimate company wouldn't do this unless you're cagey about revealing the date ordered.

If it's behind most of the other orders you will have been a little deceitful to say the least.  I do have high hopes for you, don't ruin them.

Note: I'm not invested here. US orders are too painful for UK buyers with our recent change in HMRC duties, but I do want to see other legitimate options for people and people not getting burned!!!

agreed after the first 50 or so orders, you can bet that their 10k chips are allready done. And all the other n00bs after that are going to have to wait 12 weeks ish Tongue

It is really difficult to try and eliminate any skepticism by constantly replying to threads here, and some will never be satisfied with the answers given.

I fully accept that it is possible that this is a scam, and have decided to take a mitigated risk. Everything so far has turned out, and while I agree proof of the Avalon order is pretty key, I would prefer they focus on other things instead of answering questions non-stop in this forum.

I was not here, nor do I suggest this is even close to being similar, as the payback is pretty unlikely, but how many people doubted ASIC miner when they started out? As long as you accept that it is a risk, and have options if it turns out to be one, then I think it is certainly worth the shot to support them.

If I find out the chips are not ordered as claimed, then I will take action.

Unless they order any new excess through BFL...this could save BFL if Terrahash prove competent at creating mining devices around third party chips...
