The reasons why I keep invest in bitcoin because I know by using bitcoin I could earn money that I can use in my daily life. In addition to that, investing in bitcoin will help to sustain all your need in the near future. I think I will continue to invest in bitcoin because I know bitcoin is the key to become rich.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

It is true that bitcoin fees are a bit high, and you trade them in large numbers. But I think the investment you have to pay is obvious, nothing is available.

If fees will continue to be high then it wont be advisable to use bitcoin as a spending currency but it will become as an investment currency which you buy in big numbers and hold it. Then for spending currency people will be pushed to use altcoins like dash, litecoin or zcash for their everyday use for it is more cheaper in fees. Otherwise fiat money will still be used for the day to day transactions and the normal debit or credit card will still be dominant in the market in terms of payment tool.

If that happens bitcoin eco system will slowly shrink because bitcoin will no longer flow in the market and less transactions will be done within the blockchain. While altcoins will get all those attention because of the increasing eco-system and usage and adaptability of the market.

They need to look at it in a bigger prospective. Fees is needed but higher fees will kill the eco-system of bitcoin in the long run. Will bitcoin now serving the big financial companies for they are the one doing big amount of transactions? Then us the people who wants to use it in our daily lives can no longer afford to do it because of the high fees? It is because of the greed on fees of the miners or is it really the bitcoin blockchain that is really something wrong? Is it time for another contender of bitcoin to takeover to lead the pack?

the fee issue will be fixed, if you are really buying for the future than you should not worry in 2-3 years by will be different and better

for now if you really want to use bitcoin use it to buy expensive stuff in this way you will not feel the fee

also besides this bitcoin still hold other advantages against fiat, first one us the control and the no-one restriction you have over your money

another one is that by holding Bitcoin your chance to have a fortune in the near future is very high, compare this to fiat where you only lose money..

Bitcoin is a crypto-currency which is set the first name in the market. So the development of bitcoin can sure the best reason for people to keep putting trust on the system and development of bitcoin. Fees and security are the on going development happens on bitcoin, if people or the community of bitcoin will continue the support more development on its price, transaction and security will sure happened making bitcoin as the number one mode of transaction in the future. So no doubt that people are willing to continue to support and to set investment on bitcoin.

Ya it may be true due to high value of bitcoin.But many started to inverse their money in bitcoin.Now a days,many online is made using bitcoin only. The only thing I inverse money in bitcoin is, due to their product profit  and faith.Since bitcoin price is keeps on increasing due to large number of bitcoin users.If you inverse your money on bitcoin today means ,you will get huge profit on one day.

Bitcoin is designed for large investments and for large purchases. There is no point in buying some small thing, because the loss due to the commission will be much greater.

Some people invest now because they believe that the problem with fees will be solved soon and this will lead to a big boost to Bitcoin's price. And even if Bitcoin won't solve the scaling problem soon, it doesn't mean that it's useless, the network has been live for 8 years and it has proven itself as very secure and reliable, which adds a lot to Bitcoins worth. Bitcoin can be used as safe haven during economic crisis in fiat world, which already happens in some countries when their currencies and stocks plummet.

Just do it.  I respect you for looking at a potential investment skeptically,  but youll find 1000 reasons not to buy btc if you look hard enough--and meanwhile people are getting rich hand over fist.  Just put some of your disposable play money into it if you're that reluctant.   Transaction fees go up and down, as do confirmation times.  It's a work in progress.   And those two issues have improved considerably in the last month.

Yes, it is impractical for Bitcoin to be used on a daily basis just like fiat. This is because of the long waiting time of transaction confirmation and because of the high fees. Bitcoin is behaving more like an investment instead of a currency.

The fees will be fixed as long as the scaling issues are coped. Not just the fees will be lowered but the waiting time will be lessen as well.

I would not advise you to invest btc or not but if you can bypass the fee then btc would be an extremely profitable investment. You only need to buy a few btc and wait 2-3 years for a certain amount of money, without investing in any project as this will probably make you lose money. If I were you and have a large enough amount of $ 3 then investing btc would be my top choice. if it's contrary, i wouldn't.

If you can invest your money in the Bitcoin and another coins then hopefully you can make big earnings and then 3$ will be useless amount of fee for you earnings .
But still if you are right at your point that how a man can spent that much amount of money for the fee to buy small worth things.
suppose here I want to buy pizza of 5$ value then I need to pay 3$ , this is directly showing what we want to say .
But here you need to wait and see what the changes we will found in the future , I means to say for the launch of segqit2x , because it is believed that the fee for the transaction of the Bitcoin will got half because the size of the segwit will get double by replacement of segwit2x .

Yeah you're right. Bitcoin is the key for us to become rich. Bitcoin gave us a wonderful opportunity for us to have a profit. Investing your money to the bitcoin is really effective to earn money. This is the reason why I keep my btc.

It's not about it becoming mainstream for now (as in for day-to-day transactions). As you said, you don't need that extra money for a while, so why just keep it there? I believe bitcoin would be a better investment (although it holds a small risk, like anything else)
My suggestion here is to invest what you can afford to lose, hold it for a while and see how it goes.

The reason of investing my money into bitcoin is because I know in the future I will earn a lot despite the fact of high fee yet I just disregard it due to my perception that I will earn more and make profit out of it.
To OP I guess now it is not yet time to use bitcoin to by physical stuff or one on one transaction because it is not that popular enough and it is not good in transaction fee but for sure time will come there will be lot of merchants who will use bitcoin and fee will be lessen as what we have now. That is how I looked for that

In this time it is good reason to invest money to buy bitcoin because of its pumping market value every time, you can even invest and forget it for a year or you can play it with some exchange site to do trading your bitcoin from time to time.
