The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin

Hello everybody.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

Now that the transaction fees are now back to normal, I think the OP has now all the reasons to invest in Bitcoin. Aside from that, I don't think that you will invest in Bitcoin just because you want to but some burgers on some fast food chain. Invest in Bitcoin because you want your investment to grow and gain profits from it. If you have huge investment and you learned how to manage it well, you will get a huge profit and I'm pretty sure that by that time, you will not mind the transaction fees.

The reason that kept me from investing in Bitcoin is that Bitcoin prices are rising. Also, I keep Bitcoin to secure my future.

There's a whole lot more reasons for you to invest on Bitcoin other than the Burger King in Russia. Many other benefits and advantages that there is to Bitcoin should outweigh your concern for the transaction fees and the only reason that's been keeping you to invest in Bitcoin.

If you would check the price charts of Bitcoin, it is increasing despite the numerous fluctuations. Over just a short period of time, the price increase has skyrocketed so just imagine what your money could reach in 2-3 years. Also, Bitcoin is being adopted and accepted more and more. Its popularity has been increasing and the future looks bright for Bitcoin. Since you don't intend on using the money for some time, it would be best to invest it because it would accumulate and accrue in Bitcoin over time. I'm just saying that transaction fees should be the least of your worries because Bitcoin is a good investment.

All your worries will be answered after the fork,so there is nothing to be worried,the main reason for the fork is because the network could not handle the amount of transactions with the limited capacity and with the fork everything will be resolved and the transaction charges will come down considerably and we are mainstream and the growth continues.

Bitcoin fees often change with the bitcoin price at that time. If you cheat fiat money and exchange it with bitcoin may feel high according to you. It's because bitcoin prices are now expensive and maybe the service on the wallet is good so the fee is high. I think the fee is not a problem for you because some months your money will increase. You will be lucky to invest bitcoin.

OP if you are so concerned about the high fees maybe a good altcoin is better for you to invest in. Litecoin has already activated Segwit and soon the Lightning Network payment layer will follow. Look into it, maybe it is where you want to invest your money.

Maybe you have a point but. We need to aceept the fact that fees are connected to our transactions. So lets just be patient on it. Wait until something might change. We dont  know maybe someday fees will be lowered. Bitcoin still has a highest value among all so we want it. That keep us from coming back.

Yeah! We can’t do anything with the transaction fees. Transaction fees are very little less to the profit bitcoins let us enjoy. We should not be hesitant of paying these trivial fees. Bitcoins have made numerous people around the globe rich. So I think transaction fees should not make you hate bitcoins.

And if we look then we will find that these fees are very lower if we look at the transaction fees of the bank as banks are charging too much fees and in bitcoin we get another benefit that we do not rely on any third party with it we do not have to look at the fees.

If you do not want to invest in bitcoin then no one is forcing you to do so, but I think it is very obvious that since this is a bitcoin forum most user are going to be pro bitcoin when it comes to investment, read the forum and you will understand why we are so positive about bitcoin but at the end is your call whether to invest or not.

Of course hope to continue to gain profit, for me there is no other reason than profitable, because if not profitable of course I will leave. But we must realistic that need at least a year to get huge profit.

Bitcoin for me is meant to be an investment because the returns of it just for saving is really huge when you compare it to other businesses. If you wanted to spend bitcoin then better spend it in large amount transaction because when you spend it that way, you will not worry so much about the fees.

Bitcoin might not be a good choice as a currency for doing everyday transactions. But I can very well assure that it is the best investment asset available today. On the terms of risk and returns, no other asset would be able to overcome Bitcoin in coming years. This will drive the demand for Bitcoin and hence the price. So if you are thinking of investment, I don't see a reason for doubt. But if you want to use it as a currency, it would be better to use it in some big transaction.

Fees would definitely fall after Segwit but to what extent is hard to speculate.

The high fees will fixed when segwit is implemented but people use bitcoin nowadays as investment foe their assets for now it's more likely to be a safe haven for assets a long term investment. You ask people why people use it, because this digital currency will hold a great value than any fiat currency and may surpass it in time. Once segwit is activated it will once again lower the cost of transaction fees and fast food chains like birger king can use it conveniently as a payment method and it will be also conveniently for you who just wants to buy a burger with low tx fees.

Many opportunities unlocks when you invest in bitcoin it's not just a savings that has little appreciation though fees are still in the process of fixing I still believe that if you invest in bitcoin after 2 to 3 years you will have good harvest. The value of bitcoin continue to grow and the more it gets popular the more establishment will likely to accept it as a mode of payment and I hope time will come that there is no transaction fee required like a normal currency.

Well the ony flow of it is the fees but when we see the cahnce that we can earn from investing maybe it is still reasonable but if it's too much then we should think of it if we will continue it. Bitcoin can be the easiest way of making transactions payment now that's why they're putting too much fees on it since they know that we will still use it.

That was the main issue "HIGH FEES". But i think it will be solved sooner so its not to worry. Even if restaurants start accepting bitcoins, they will find some way to recieve and send bitcoins without any fees. Some wallet to wallet transactions doesn't require fees like localbitcoin to localbitcoin wallet. It send the transaction without any fees. I hope restaurants will find something like this for better use.

Well for me its not the high fees is the main issue here but the slow confirmation. High fee is fine with me as long as the confirmation of transaction is fast. Like Im not gonna wait too long if I ordered just a meal in fast food chain.
High fee is nothing when you can get convenient and hassle free in ever transaction especially when we are busy person.

How to not be amazed by the bitcoin. Common sense is telling not to invest when it is actualy rational to invest in it.

Bitcoin completly defy the rule of logic, reason and common sense. When you have a bunch of people like bitcoiners - you can expect anything, or saying otherwise, you should not expect anything as it will be different for sure.
