The Vega GPU cost a lot comparing to other GPUs which cost less and have the same (if not more) hashpower.

It is reported that the RX Vega has a hashpower of ~30.9/s - 32 MH/s but that doesn't mean it has to cost double as some other GPUs that have 25MH/s

$1k is a lot, the Liquid-Cooled Frontier Edition cost $1.5k, calculate how long will take the ROI comparing to a Rx 480 or RX 580 8GB

I'm very sure who created all the lies about VEGA doing 70 - 100 was the ebay seller's mafia who are now selling VEGA at 1200 usd hehe.

Oh dang- lol I'm reading reviews after placing my pre-order.

Now I'm unsure if I should cancel my order or wait it out. After all it has huge computing power but so much power consumption.

Here in CAD- the website sold out the cards within 15 mins and every single variant lol

Price was $633 CAD and sold it for 849$ -Even I paid that much but I got the limited edition with two games lol

I had 1080ti on ordered which I cancelled when I realized AMD Vega was out today-

Hopefully I'll be able to see more concrete numbers before my card is actually processed and enroute.

Didn't someone post that Vega as better instruction set which would allow better compute performance?

If it's such a horrible card-how the heck did it get sold out in 15 mins?

I didn't get Vega but I would hold off on canceling until we get reviews from dedicated mining channels that know what they are doing like Cryptomined or BBT over the next couple of days. Even PC Gamer was able to get it to 40 MH/s right out of the box with just a memory overclock. Once bios and miner tweaks are avalaible it should get over 50 MH/s.

Does anyone think it's possible that AMD wrote into the latest driver a throttling factor for mining just for the launch in order to give gamers some 'breathing room' on launch.  This might explain the divergent rumours earlier on (older drivers) with current findings today.  Especially with the blower style cooler, be curious to see what AIB partners do for cooling and if hash get's better with 'update'

For gaming is good. If I was a gamer then I would take VEGA x all except 1080 TI. I'm very proud of AMD, finally they launched a gaming card, now gamers can buy VEGA for $399 and be happy cause there is only gtx 1080 ti better than it.

If this was the case then we would have seen vega doing 70Mh/s with older drivers. We did not see up until now nowhere near 42 mh/s with any driver or bios.

You trolls were badly hyped by ebay scammers hehe and many of you trolls bought VEGA from them for just $1200 hehe, your 100mh/s got so many memory errors at hwinfo that is now mining at 32mh/s hehe

AMD dont focus on mining, they need to sell to gaming people ...
AMD gona keep a eyes on the mining future but for moment "he" dont believe on long term

Trust me I can see that, reason why AMD did not fix polaris hashrate hehe yet.

There ya go AMD...
2 out 3 of my clients switched to nvidia 1080ti JUST BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET VEGA TODAY, what a great beginning!

I myself think the problem was not AMD, it was mainly ebay scammers, they bought it all and are reselling with 100% profit if not more and those scammers put as headlines of the product as "ultra mining performance" I have seen many hehe. Also I dont blame your friends who bought the gtx 1080 ti cause the only vegas available right now are the ebay ones at $1200 hehe and trust me with headlines like that they might sell their bullshit fast.

If this is true then we know why AMD did it right? To block mining, so yes, Lisa Su was right to her word and they blocked any increase in hashrate concerning bios modification. Although if you saw techpowerup review then you will see they changed the bios of their vega cards.

yupp, word is they actually added a little ARM CPU right on it to hard-secure the bios Sad
You CAN flash it, but you get black screen on boot (as it checks for signed bios and black screens if not)

But fear not! there is hope yet! Our friendly(?) neighborhood Wolf0 is working on bypassing this!
see: http://www.overclock.net/t/1634018/vega-frontier-rx-vega-owners-info-thread/70#post_26281235  for details

I dont think they have gotten it QUITE open yet, but much progress has been made, i can see modding inna few weeks  (hopefully)
