Is it a good deal to buy a Vega 64 air cooled at 553$ (471€) ?
It seems it could make 2/3$ per day, so that is a ROI in 184 to 276 days ...

My lucky BTC address : 1LoTTerY3WYbGxVRHvh8oDudDdTxFvvqWF
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

what about hashrate on other algorithms for Vega 56 / 64 ?

Equihash/sigt/c11/skein/lyra2rev etc etc?
look forward, i have posted nicehash bench

Thanks good job on posting your benchmark on nicehash btw why was equihash terminated?

Not really impress by vega 64 I think i will hold from buying it right now... there goes my plan to build 6 card vega 56 rig that thing is power monster.

False. It's not encrypted, it's just signed. Second, I posted a workaround.

There was somebody at chiphell who reached 44mh/s with vega, do you think is possible to reach 50mh/s?

Should be child's play once Linux drivers are fixed - the memory timing formats are all new, but since I know them, I can do custom timings long before even a shitty "timing copy" tool like PBE comes out for Vega.

That is good to hear, let's hope for the best and keep up the good work as always.

Good nice to hear that it works.

Glad to hear AMD  did this as it will help you make some money.

You deserve all you can get for your custom timings.

Let us know your
 ETH
 ZEC
hash rates when you unlock the card.

For guy like me I will have to mine nvidia 1080ti's  as my farm has 15 cards  and I won't be able to buy the custom amd flashed cards.
However I would like to know what they can do.  So I can compare them to the 1080ti's
buysolar and I may go in on a second solar array

We have one that is 9kwatt to 13kwatt 24/7 winter to summer

we want to make a 27kwatt to 39kwatt 24/7 winter to summer

that would give us 36kwatt to 52kwatt 24/7 winter to summer

we could add up to 100 1080ti's  if we do this and then I would be able to buy some custom bios from you.

So I would love to be able to compare  a bios flashed vega to a 1080ti to help me know if I should mix cards or stay all 1080 ti

I don't see how it can make $3/day? Is this with electricity cost taken into account?

Thats why Newegg is selling out 1080ti fast... the eVga SC 1080ti for $729 gone the 709 gone few of $699 gigabyte 1080ti gone.
Unless newegg can restock fast enough a lot of there cards are selling out...

They canceled my sneaky order via eBay because they're "out of stock" on eVga.

Now I will have to mine with white 1080ti's from Gigabyte because black has limit of 2 per customer.

What has this world become!?

Has anyone seen one for sale at the msrp of $499?

Newegg had the MSI VEGA 64 listed at $499 yesterday - but it was already sold out and it has been reported that the "$399/$499" MSRP may have been a "launch only" thing, the real MSRP long-term being $100 higher.

Dunno what AMD is thinking, unless they've decided they can gouge on VEGA due to selling out very very quickly.

The "white" Gigabyte Windforce models work well, though they don't cool as well as the Aorus they also don't eat 3 slots so they PLAY WELL with other cards much better in non-riser rigs.

overpriced junk , same price as 1080 Ti , +50% power usage , gets destroyed in both games and mining

Where are you seeing Vega at the same price at the 1080ti?

Everywhere I've looked it's priced in the same ballpark as the 1080 (NOT the TI) - which it IS close competiton to except on power draw, even with no optimizations for it yet implamented.

(edit) seems like that was "introductory" pricing, but even the CURRENT $100 HIGHER pricing still doesn't put the Vega 64 into 1080ti price range, though it does look like it is going to shove the Vega 56 nearly into 1080 price range (where the 64 BELONGS).

To be honest-I'm left with mixed feelings. Although I have Vega 64 on pre-order and fingers cross it doesn't cancel -I can't help but think that 1080ti might be a better option.

Especially considering the price point -it's being sold at 850$ where I live and 1080ti is 900$ or so. However, Vega 64 has a lot more computing power but so is the power draw.

I wonder -how much a custom BIOS would actually help. Would it even make it a worth while investment? I feel like 1080ti would have a better re-sale value as well since gamers don't see Vega as a "value" or "good" card even compared to 1080 let alone 1080ti.

I see Vega 64 benchmarks 34.4 mh/s for eth.
I would think the cards can do 43-46 mh/s if a good bios with memory timings is applied.

One would be better off buying 2 x 470 or 2x 480 or 2x 580 or 2 x 570 or 2 x 1060 3gb samsung memory cards.
The performance per cost would be cheaper if going this route.

Currently I see new 1060 and 470 cards under $240.   At 22-28 mh/s per card, this is the best "new" card deal out there.

In US, I only see those for $270-400, maybe you can find cheaper on ebay, but not easily.

How much power would 2 of those consume over 1 of vega 64 ? and How about Dual mining ? because Vega is very powerful in Raw power ergo dual mining would benefit on that card

32 mh/s for ETH and whatever for the other coin that uses computer performance?

Ok. I guess it wouldn't hurt to actually read the article... which says: Legacy version 1.8.1.1 Pre-release 3.

Next Question: has anyone tried it yet (Pre-release 3)?
