I will explain in a few words. For brevity is the sister of talent, but the stepmother's fee. 01. I've been at the foundation of NYC since March 2014 ... I know the nyccoin. 02. Why is the coin interesting? In contrast to others, it continues to spread to payment in fact. And this is the main thing. Money is just the equivalent of a product. Checkmate. Greetings NYCoin!

Slosh here, just wanted to get you all up to date on what is happening with the dev team. We have just released version 1.3 of the Core wallet (see notice https://www.reddit.com/r/nycoincommunity/comments/91smfi/dev_updates_7252018/) which means we are ready to move ahead with the Security Updates! Please be sure to download and update your wallet accordingly as all changes take place at block height 4.8 million, around the 28th of October 2018. The new wallet is faster, more modern (from a code point of view), and has a few more features than the previous iteration. It's not pretty right now but when I get the chance to give it a face lift I will do so (or if you are a dev that knows their way around QT, hit me up).

We are currently in contact with exchanges and 3rd part wallet providers to get them up to date on the new code so we should have little interruption during the transition.

Now that the core code is out, I will be spending some time on the Electrum wallet. It has needed some love for far longer than I would have liked but we are shy on devs and the security updates were top priority. I will post an update here once Electrum is back on track and hopefully we will be able to get a few more nodes up and running.

Again, please update your wallets and nodes to the latest edition before height 4.8 million so that we can all move into a more secure future together! Why is NYC's new wallet: "Dogcoin Core" and the bottom right corner: "MNYC"?

Can you expand on both of those? If the bottom right says MNYC you may have just clicked on it accidentally and changed the units to display. You can click on it again and set it to just NYC. We should probably fix that in the code to set the only unit option to be just NYC (does anyone prefer seeing it in a different unit of measure?).

I have 8 moonlanders working 24hours . Stripped the fans and using my own arctic fans.  I get about 28Mhz.
Do I need to do anything for this fork ?
Wanted to buy some NYC ... but YoBit a nightmare, can't even open an account.

VARDIFF stands for Variable Difficulty. This essentially means that the difficulty of your shares will rise and fall depending on your hashrate. Please note that your hashrate on the site may rise and fall drastically. This is more of an annoyance then anything else due to stratum recalculating the difficulty to your miner.

How does this affect miners?

Variable difficulty will benefit both low hashrate and high hashrate miners. Variable difficulty will fluctuate your share difficulty so that your miner submits 4 -10 shares ms . This will drastically reduce load on the backend as well as make your miners shares more efficient in helping the pool find blocks.
