So we're now the featured borrower on Bitbond. Guys feel free to support our business.

https://blog.bitbond.net/2013/11/interview-feature-borrower-funtrench/

The interview shows details of what we're setting up in Kenya with Bitcoin.
"In a nutshell, the network works like a distributed timestamp server, stamping the first transaction to spend a coin. It takes advantage of the nature of information being easy to spread but hard to stifle." -- Satoshi

I am interested in setting up a fully legitimate Bitcoin consulting business in my local area. The business will of course stand to teach clients every possible thing they need to know about Bitcoins, mining, trading, etc.. as well as how to secure their physical network and manage their Bitcoins both online and offline.

If you would like to get in contact with me and offer some ideas so I can better contribute to the Bitcoin community that would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm one of the founders of

https://api.trustedcoin.com/#/

We offer a Bitcoin transaction cosigning service, which should make it easier for developers to build higher-level Bitcoin services (and more secure ones, using P2SH addresses and multisig).

Would like to engage with rest of community on this project.

Thanks,

Josh

Godspeed in your endeavors and thank you for your service!

Hi

We are a firm dealing with scrap gold and bullion based in Central London. We are dipping our toes into the world of bitcoin and as a starting point will have a few listings on bitmit.net for gold bullion. Username; Bullion333

We wanted to announce our website to the bitcoin community with much fanfare, but have been stopped in our tracks by our bank ( HSBC ). They found out about our plans to launch a site selling bullion for bitcoin during an innocent conversation at our local branch in central London. After being summonsed to the managers office, like a naughty schoolboy, they threatened to pull all funding and close all accounts on our existing business, unless we reversed our plans. Even through our company has been trading for a number of years and is profitable.

Bitcoin is a powerful disruptive technology and the banks are running sacred.

Fortunately, we have a few options in place as we are an established business.

I'm a software engineer. I prefer C/C++ and Go but can also contribute to C#, Python, SQL etc.

At this point I'm just looking for open source projects to spend some spare time on.
I consider getting into test net and do some testing/debugging from there

I am a full-time professional philatelist (i.e. expert and consultant) and stamp dealer, having been in the business for more than 8 years already (based in Germany). In the meantime, I have become one of the most active and well-known stamp dealers in the world (philately isn't a gigantic world - however it's growing very quickly), and my reputation in the "real world" can easily be checked with the most important auction houses in the industry, etc., etc., etc.. I have kept a close eye (discreetly) on the whole bitcoin phenomenon for the past year or so and now I would like to offer bitcoin users the possibility of buying stamps, covers (which is the technical philatelic term for letters with stamps on them) and stamp collections for bitcoins. I specialise in classic philately, particularly in rare/medium-rare items. I do serve as advisor to some of the greatest collectors of the moment and I rely on extremely solid technical knowledge, as well a very solid understanding of the market and a vast network of connections, and thus I can advise on either collection-building at the highest level or buying stamps as a potential investment, or simply buying stamps just for the fun of it. Whatever the case, there is nobody else offering top philatelic items for bitcoins. Amongst all other collectables, stamps tend to be the most valuable in respect to their actual size (there are many stamps and philatelic items which fetch huge prices on the market - yet they are still just very small bits of paper) and the industry is growing at a very fast yet very solid, sustainable pace. And it has done so for the past 20-30 years. What I would like to do is have a more detailed post in the Market section, and then see whether there is any interest for philately amongst the bitcoin "population".

Hello, I am part of a team of developers who have developed a new bitcoin poker game. I just discovered this remarkable forum community today and joined. Our website is currently closed to the public until the game is released, sometime in Nov. I look forward to making some friends in this community.
Cheers!

Hello, I'm a small bussines owner in Venezuela and I'm looking for a long term bitcoin provider, due to currency exchange restrictions I can't make payments to my international...

You could always use the big UK-based exchange:

Bitstamp charges a small 0.1% fee (one tenth of one percent) for International bank transfer deposits, and 0.50% (half a percent) fee to use their exchange for small quantities up to an equivalent 500 US Dollars, and a reduced fee schedule which will go as low as 0.20% if your 30-day volume is over 150 thousand dollars. To get verified (full access), you'll need a valid government issued ID, and a proof of residency... I was curious so I tested to make sure they allow signups from your country:

^That's a screenshot of the email I got during signup for a test... It let me choose Venezuela during signup and everything works, but I think my browser cookies caused the default currency to show up as USD instead of GBP, Euro dollars, or anything else... That shouldn't matter so long as you have the ability to send international bank transfer to the exchange to be able to buy bitcoin.

Good luck Smiley

Intro:

Ronald Wiplinger, Taipei, Taiwan.
Company name: Elmit
Position: CEO & CTO

Former experience: Build up an ISP in Taiwan (had 3rd private ISP license in Taiwan). Was one of the directors of the ISP association and one of the directors of TWNic.

ISP business was a challenge in 1995, when I started, since you could not just "buy" things, but had to make it.

2001 I founded Elmit Co., Ltd., a consulting company for all Internet related subjects, like security, Voice over IP, Success on/with the Internet (including Internet campaigns, advertisements, social media).

I stumbled over Bitcoins at the beginning of the year and have a "close" look at it since.

I have tried to setup robots, but failed, however, I found Butter-robot, with which I am working now intensively.

My contribution is to get the words of Bitcoin trading out, especially here in Taiwan, where everybody used to have some stocks. New technology and the robot, would give some push. China's trading center is of course also an important point to get more involved.

Enough written to get white listed?

Hello all, name is Marty and I have a small Graphics and Printing Shop in Florida.
We provide services such as museum quality photo and art printing to canvas and papers along with business printing of business cards, banners, decals, magnetic signs and much more.
I've been lurking for a few weeks learning about the various alt-currencies and am currently mining a few. I am setting up to accept Btc and a few alts at my store.

Hi FaceTwo, sounds like you may have a problem sending an international bank wire from Ve.  Is that the problem? Seems there are no exchanges that support BTC/VEF. What money transfer options are available to you?

I'm a long time open source developer. The last few years i have been working on my Maplat Webserver, https://sourceforge.net/p/maplat/code/ci/default/tree/.

Currently, i have a free online wallet https://www.cavac.at.(*) The only charge is the mandatory network transaction fee of 0.0005 BTC to support the miners.

I'm currently working on a newer version of this (mostly background stuff).

Also, in a few days, maybe a week or two, you will be able to rent subdomain-entries for one of my domains, grumpfzotz.org, very cheaply with bitcoins. I was thinking of 0.005 BTC per hostname per year. I'm still working out the technical details. Maybe this will only include that single hostname (like myserver.grumpfzotz.org), most likely this will include a fully working sub domain (including sub-sub names like myserver.mysubdomain.grumpfzotz.org). Depends on how easy to use i can make the webinterface for users.

LG,
Rene

(*)  You might need to visit https://www.cacert.org/, tough, to install the root certificate into your browser. I just refuse to pay thousands of dollars for a commercial SSL certificate (which is about 3-7 seconds of automated computing time on the "certificate authority" webserver).

Oh right this is the right thread for my silly announcement:

So. I have a pretty advanced method to sell bitcoin via Paypal and I am going to try it a few times at some point. Reserved this name for that use. My method involves sellers protection from Paypal (need to confirm a few things) and an advanced "scam the scammer"-method. This is currently not my number one priority, though.

disaster waiting to happen. paypal can close your account. paypal can close any seller or buyers account. plus more nonsense that's been posted a million times.

it's against the t&c to use pay pal to buy/sell bitcoin anyway.

You should start your own thread though.

Yeah, we'll see.

I have not seen any Paypal tos, that actually forbids e-currencies or bitcoin, only threads. My research could be too narrow, though. Received a positive e-mail from paypal about selling btc, even though they cannot guarantee anything.

But yeah, separate thread in the future. I need to adjust a few things anyways.
