Aloha! My husband Phraust and I are starting a small site offering local goodies from Hawaii. There are currently no businesses out here that accept Bitcoin, and thought we should join the party and fill a *very* small niche. Mr. P has been a member of the community for a while now, and has been mining since last year, I'm the johnny-come-lately (albeit longtime lurker) to the party.

Cheers

BitsofAloha coming soon!!

I approve of this message.  Cheesy

Good luck with your business!

I hope you will succeed!

Hi all. We just updated our BTC alert app to include Tradehill's market price. Tradehill has been back since March but still isn't included in BitcoinCharts.com so you can get the updated price with our app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.softmachines.android.bitcoinalerts

Does anyone think that an arbitrage alert feature would be useful ?

Hi,

I am looking to trade some of my social media services for BTC. I am a full time internet marketer with an expertise in social media and instagram. I strongly feel my services would benefit this community.

Thank in advance!

Using the latest official 0.8.1 for Linux. bitcoind stopped downloading at block 182687 and I get a warning to upgrade:
64 # ./bitcoind getinfo
{
    "version" : 80100,
    "protocolversion" : 70001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 182687,
    "connections" : 8,
    "proxy" : "",
    "difficulty" : 1591074.96184731,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1367805478,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : "Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."
}

I found there is a similar problem for the Ubuntu PPA version, related to BDB, but I doubt this is the same thing. I don't see BDB in the dynamic dependencies - it must be statically linked:
64 # ldd bitcoind
   linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007fff617ff000)
   libz.so.1 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libz.so.1 (0x00007f586a24e000)
   libdl.so.2 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f586a04a000)
   libpthread.so.0 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007f5869e2c000)
   libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6 (0x00007f5869b29000)
   libm.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6 (0x00007f586982d000)

I'm an MBA just completing the first year of my PhD in Finance. I will be halting the PhD in order to pursue the creation of a new market denominated in BTC. More details to come.
